UE 5.5 and Metahuman 4.0 made some BIG changes adding the new Optimized Quality options (first seen in UEFN). These new Metahumans are the ones designed to be used in games vs. prerendered cinematics. They have new optimized materials and take up 1/10 of the space.

Shame they crash projects with their har

Medium Optimized shouldn’t its card hair. Also turn off RBF Interp on the grooms

Metahumans are so unfortunate. Years later and you still can't make a good looking character. Even custom sculpted versions look bleh.

Compare to what? AAA $2 million per studio characters?

What about the material count of the face?

metahumans are great but they are so limited in just 2 gender, 3 heights and 3 weights. This is very limiting. the metahuman head is great but body is just bleh. Thinking about using custom bodies and then using GASP to motion match it - rigging.
