IGP DISU COMMENDS NPF AND OTHER SECURITY FORCES FOR SUCCESSFUL RESCUE OF ABDUCTED OYO PUPILS, HONOURS FALLEN SERGEANT IGP Tunji Disu at the Force Headquarters, Abuja today, has commended officers of the Nigeria Police Force and other security forces for their professionalism, courage, and seamless collaboration in the successful rescue of teachers and pupils abducted from Oriire School in Oyo State. The IGP praised the coordinated operation that led to the safe rescue of the victims, describing it as a testament to the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation in tackling security challenges. He also paid tribute to Sgt. John Abena, who lost his life during the operation, describing him as a gallant officer who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Reaffirming the Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel, the IGP assured that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to provide necessary support to officers injured in the operation, as well as the families of fallen personnel.

🚨#ISPR 11 Terrorists Eliminated On 26-27 March 2025, eleven Khwarij were killed by the security forces in four separate encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, #Pakistan An intelligence based operation (IBO) was conducted by the Security Forces in area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan District. During the conduct of operation, our troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and resultantly, five khwarij were sent to hell. In a second operation conducted in same area, three more khwarij were successfully neutralized by our troops. In another encounter that took place in area of Miran Shah, North Waziristan District, our troops effectively neutralised two khwarij. In fourth operation conducted by the Security Forces in area of Daraban, Dera Ismail Khan District, one kharji was sent to hell. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities. Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other kharji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie, in charge of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, stated that the police are in the process of charging the men.
