It turned out that while Ukrainian agricultural products are blocked at the border, Poland pays hundreds of millions to companies from Russia and Belarus for seeds, oil and animal feed. ▪️ Poland trades with Russia and Belarus, while Ukraine is banned even from transit. Ukrainian agricultural exports to Poland fell by 40% last year. In August, amid protests, Poland banned imports of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine, and in September, it added rapeseed cake and meal, corn bran, wheat flour and derivatives. Since April 2023, Ukrainian grain has been going through Poland only in transit. Despite this, protests at the border continue. There are about 6 thousand cars in line to leave Ukraine for Poland, and another 2 thousand to enter Poland Imports of agricultural products from Russia to Poland in 2023 reached $117 and exceeded the level of 2021, i.e. the level before the full-scale war. Can a real peace deal be made between Russian and Ukraine? Yesterday CNN asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about Trump’s “plan” to make a fair deal between Putin and Ukraine. Zelensky had quite the interesting response, saying: “We’re not ready [to give up territory to Russia]. But the question for Trump – or to someone else, maybe it’s not his idea – is ‘is the United States ready to give up territory after Putin has said he would use nuclear weapons?'" Zelensky then said, “After we negotiate with Putin, he will then give us his new list of ‘wishes." Does anyone really believe that 1) Putin would make a deal without getting some of Ukraine's land and 2) that he would actually hold up his end of the deal? Putin has shown over and over again that he only makes deals to get things, and as soon as he secures those things, he moves on to trying to get more.

In his speech to the nation, Putin hit back on comments made that it can’t be ruled out that the West could send troops to Ukraine to help them defend their country from Russia. “Everything that they are coming up with now, with which they threaten the entire world – all this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons, and therefore the destruction of civilization – don’t they understand this, or what? They must ultimately understand that we also have weapons – and they know about it, just as I now said – we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory.” The argument that we shouldn’t give aid to an ally whom we have an agreement with to provide security to, because Putin has Nuclear weapons and may use them, is a cowardly, weak argument. If the bully is beating up on the weak kid in school, you shouldn’t let his threats toward you prevent you from defending that kid or getting that kid some help, unless you are weak and cowardly yourself. A strong country stands up to Putin. They give Ukraine what they need to defend themselves, before it’s too late. Do you honestly think that once Putin takes Ukraine, he will be happy? Do you think his threats will suddenly stop?
