Ukraine's FP-1/2 long-range drone now flies into Crimea carrying two FPV drones strapped to its wings. One FPV is fitted with a flat antenna that matches a compact Starlink terminal — United24. 1/

Russian sources filmed the downed mothership in a bay near occupied Crimea. The wings still held two attached FPV drones. Analysts identified the antenna on one of them as Starlink-grade. 2/

A Starlink link means the FPV does not depend on the mothership as a radio relay. It can be dropped over the target and flown directly through satellite, while the FP-1/2 keeps going to its own warhead mission. 3/

One sortie now delivers two weapons on one carrier. Long-range warhead in the FP-1/2, plus precision FPVs released into the target zone for point strikes. 4/

The FPVs hunt what protects the target — air defense crews, EW teams, interception drones. They clear the path, and the warhead behind them hits the primary objective. 5/

Even with two FPVs strapped on, the FP-1/2 retains substantial payload. Other FP-1/2 variants reach Crimea with warheads above 100 kg. 6/

Drone carriers are entering Ukraine's serial production cycle. Quantum Systems' "Sparta" mothership was planned for end of 2025 — Hartpunkt reports it remains in prototype. The FP-1/2 already drops Starlink-controlled FPVs over Crimea. 7X

Jesus, kick the U.S. out and bring Ukraine into NATO!!! Ukraine has already done the heavy lifting and fighting and dying, they’ve proven again and again that they’re the most innovative military in the world. Let America reapply for membership later.

Still NO self destruct mechanism?? And now vatniks got it!

Why is it sitting on the water? How is it floating?

I have neither proof nor doubt that the anti-Musk campaigns related to Ukraine that flare up now and then are in large part directly related to Ukraine's use of Starlink and Starshield.

This is a brilliant mod.

@davethul Innovation

It seems curious that the star link antenna has conveniently been busted out of the nose flaring and on display rather than facedown in the mud

War is evolving

Drone use seem to evolve almost monthly, it’s wild to keep up. At this point, it might even make sense to start including drone carriers like this in the simulator.

Sa fait mal au russe ça !

@katsu0575jp2_2 nice!

Waiting for the 1/10 2/20

It's like a huge giant robot..mosquito?

@threadreaderapp unroll

8:100 LQ all the time but up to -97 rssi dbi. Voltage drops when throttle punch doesn't really drops. Imo ai prove me wrong

I'd wonder why they didn't bolt sting style drones as additional engines to the wings, with battery power from the host? Once they dissolve they still would have their own battery range...

Drones carrying drones is kind of terrifying NGL..

I thought Starlink was disabled for Crimea. I haven't heard/read that this has changed.

Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 ♥️ 🇧🇷 Brasil

Isn't it floating on water, look at the reflections of the small drones on its wings being reflected in the water.

Flying? It's floating.
