Unfortunately, the world already had the chance to verify this twelve years ago. Russia’s war against Ukraine began with the occupation of our Crimea, and the world effectively turned a blind eye to this. The leaders back then showed little interest in the protests and resistance in Crimea and in Ukraine’s overall sentiment. The world advised Ukraine to stay silent. I met with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico 🇸🇰, in Yerevan. Ukraine is open to constructive dialogue with Slovakia and is interested in developing strong relations. We discussed cooperation across various areas and holding a government meeting in the format of an intergovernmental commission in the near future. We spoke about exchanging visits to Kyiv and Bratislava and agreed that our teams will work out the schedule. We also addressed Ukraine’s EU membership. Importantly, Slovakia supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and is ready to assist us on this path. I am grateful for that.
