Goodbye Ears 👂😩 We have 500 CPU movers and unknown number of GPU particles, they are inter-changeable. The 500 CPU movers are checked infrequently for their velocity and compaired against the last checked velocity. I should turn it up to 2k... If the velocity delta is over a set amount, we make a sound based on the material name (we add "wood/metal/concrete/plaster" to the material name, then get the material name and search for that string to keep the loops down) and we abuse the use of Sound CUEs with SoundConcurrency settings to keep sounds near the camera active and retire distant sounds. The company is experimenting with bioplastics created from sugar. Traditional plastics can last for decades or even centuries without breaking down. The sugar-based material would be compostable, creating less waste” It’ll still be a plastic, just a biodegradable sugar based plastic - Microbes are fed sugar - The microbes convert the sugar into PHA as an energy storage polymer - The company extracts and processes the PHA into pellets - These pellets are sold melted and molded into utensils This is really good news because it’ll reduce microplastics

London-based designer Rahat Rai is creating slippers made from dust He turns vacuum cleaner dust into felt that can be used for fashion and household products. The raw material is sorted to remove debris, hair, and other large particles, then heated for disinfection. The resulting material is reinforced with stitching and latex. While the prototype is not yet suitable for regular wear, Rai sees potential in using it for packaging, furniture, and eco-friendly accessories. The idea fits into the trend for recycled materials, and the designer is already considering working with cleaning companies to collect “raw materials.”
