What is the second runner doing? No awareness.

Delayed dead ball is not that rare. But it would only be the runner on third who's entitled to not be put out. Runner coming from second is still at risk.

You have the right voice for this job. I never give two shits about the videos you post but somehow when you wind up on my page I still wind up listening for a minute or two before I remember that idgaf. I promise it’s a compliment. Hope you get what you want out of this.

Holy shit! John Candy is alive and well, and he's refereeing Women's Softball.

Great breakdown Jomboy. One point on a runner passing another runner. The trailing runner has to completely pass the runner to be called out. The runner from 1B only had a foot past her, not her entire body. BTW that’s a live ball situation. If she had fully passed the lead runner, the umpire points to the runner who passed the lead runner and yells loudly “runner is out,” but if less than 3 outs ball is still live. If the lead runner can score or return to base before being tagged out, she is safe.

The umpire was incorrect. That WAS NOT OBSTRUCTION!!! The fielder at third DID NOT OBSTRUCT THE RUNNER(I have been a softball umpire for 26 years)!!! Lead runner is at third, trail runner should be out!!!

The trail runner touched the lead runner at the start so she is out at that point.

Right call and the play was right in her path she had to move and let it go

If the umpire is ruling an obstruction on 3rd base & the runner has already passed the base before the obstruction occurred then I believe the runner should have been awarded home on that play (in between 3rd & home so attempting to advance). If I’m wrong tell me why.

Look up the ruling for catchers obstruction when the bat makes contact with the catchers mitt and the ball at the same time and the ball is hit into fair territory. It is also a delayed dead ball and can result in the batter being called out.

Not sure there was obstruction at third there.

WRONG. the delayed dead ball is only protecting the lead runner back to 3d base, when she changes direction the delayed dead ball (obstruction) is negated...we are no longer protecting a runner. CORRECT trailing runner did not (fully) pass the lead runner. WRONG 2 cannot occupy..
