Sure looks like he touched it with his hand. And caught the edge of the base with his foot.

I have to admit, even after watching baseball for 50 years, I didn't know or forgot about this rule. But he does touch the base twice. Once with his hand and then with his heal on the way back. How is this the right call?! I don't understand.

Bad call, he was passed the base and then touched it.

Absolute bullshit call. His heel clearly touched the bag on the way back to second.

Need a clarification. His momentum had entirely stopped and he was moving back toward second when he touched it the first time. How is this different then a guy who puts his foot on the bag, steps beyond the bag with the other foot, then pushes off the bag back toward second?

What a horrific call. He absolutely touched the base. He didn’t round third. He does not need to re touch the base

Why would he have to touch 3rd base if he was coming back to 2nd? Id understand if he was heading home and didnt touch the base..

Assuming you don't "round" the base toward the next one before having to retrace your steps... You can't touch and turn straight back? Where is the need for a second touch here?

I thought that overturning the umpires call required "clear and convincing" evidence to the contrary. How was Ewing called out when replay showed him touching the base with his hand then retouching with his heel on the way back to 2nd?

His heel touched it on way back for sure shows they are all a bunch of losers they are ruining this game

It’s a good call. When he took his hand off the base his feet were beyond the base constituting a retouch on the way back to 2nd base.

That’s too technical, right call, but not necessary. Ump should use better judgement, or be able to. This is like a cop pulling someone over for exceeding the speed limit by a couple mph.
