The day I accompanied an engineer to work on the transformer in our quarters, because it was dark and I had to hold a lamp for him to see: I stood behind him while he was working and suddenly I saw everywhere turned white simultaneously hearing a thunderous sound, total darkness immediately followed the flash, after like a minute my eyes started to see faintly and I saw I was on the floor OUTSIDE the transformer and the engineer also was getting up from the floor right in front of me. I gathered myself together but still could barely see, I asked him what happened, he said the transformer blew up. Half blind, I picked the lamp on the floor, he also picked up a few tools he could gather all scattered outside the transformer, I started walking back home while he took the direction to his own quarters. I staggered and could barely see as I walked, had to stop somewhere for about 10 minutes and my vision became clearer. I got home and explained to my uncle what happened. Meanwhile this happened inside the quarters of a teaching hospital as my unc is a doctor and the reason my uncle called the engineer, who is the official engineer responsible for electrical work for the entire quarters, was because our flat had no power supply that evening so when he came he said because it’s already dark he needs someone to flash light for him so I had to follow him. Fast forward to the next day, when my uncle came back from work/hospital, he told me that I should thank God for my life that the engineer has been hospitalised, he was rushed to the hospital ECU later that night. He said all his body was swollen and he’s in a critical condition. The following Sunday at church when it was time for testimonies, I had to give one for the first time. Thank God the door of the transformer was wide open behind us before the accident.
