Students at St. George’s school in Nairobi are on strike after one of their comrades was assaulted by a teacher for being outside viewing the eclipse. The students slept outside making noise, calling for justice. Police were overwhelmed by the students and could not contain the protest. Parents have arrived at the school in a bid to find a solution but what is clear is that the winds of change are blowing even in schools. The big question is if young girls like these can fight for their rights, what were adults doing at bogus Rhema Festivals pretending to act as if everything is alright?

At today’s Brooklyn College graduation at the Barclays Center, dozens of Palestinian and allied students planned to carry the Palestinian flag across the stage—a proud and peaceful tradition seen at graduations for years. But they were met with racially and religiously targeted searches: only visibly Arab and Muslim students were singled out. Flags were confiscated, students detained, and families harassed—some nearly kicked out—for demanding their belongings back. Barclays security, backed by CUNY, went so far as to snatch flags from students mid-ceremony. Even as Commencement Speaker Jumaane Williams invoked a hollow “both sides” framing, the reality was clear: Palestinian students—whose families are enduring a genocide, whose universities in Gaza have been obliterated, whose people are denied the very graduations others take for granted—were punished for carrying the symbol of their existence. This wasn’t just a violation of free expression. It was an act of state-aligned repression against students who dared to hold Palestine close, even on the most personal, hard-earned day of celebration.

In a recent AI workshop, with a great group of educators, I shared how AI can be used to help students with helpful feedback on their work and writing. Through an equity lens, this use allows students to receive valuable assistance, who may otherwise not have support at home. AI can help to level the playing field for all students, regardless of whether or not they have support available at home. #ai #ArtificialInteligence #aiinedu #aiineducation

However, due to the pilot’s timely alertness and presence of mind, the helicopter was turned back and safely landed at the Pawan Hans helipad in Juhu. No one was injured in the incident, and all those on board, including Deputy CM Shinde, are safe. Sensing potential danger, the pilot immediately informed Deputy CM Shinde and advised that the helicopter should turn back instead of proceeding further. He then promptly decided to reverse course.
