Most people assume their family never invested anything, but the truth is shocking. India has thousands of crores lying unclaimed because families never tracked old accounts, shares or funds. Here’s how to check if any forgotten money belongs to you: Unclaimed Mutual Funds - MITRA Portal Go to the MITRA portal, log in using PAN and email and fill basic details. If any old mutual fund exists under your or a family member’s name, it will show up. You can then claim it through the respective AMC. Fact: As per SEBI, more than ₹3,452 crore worth of mutual funds remain unclaimed. Unclaimed Shares and Dividends - IEPF Portal Earlier, shares were issued on paper and many were lost or forgotten. Visit the IEPF portal, enter details like name, PAN or company name and search. If results appear, download the claim form and follow the process. Fact: Experts estimate that thousands of crores worth of shares and dividends are still unclaimed. Unclaimed Bank Deposits - UDGAM Portal If a bank account remains inactive for 10 years, the money moves to RBI’s Depositor Education and Awareness Fund.

Scientists don’t know what they are going to discover. They have to try things. They have to have curiosity and ideas, but they also have to have the knowledge to try things. Very often, it leads to nothing; it’s a waste. But we didn’t know when we started it’s a waste. But when something does work. When something clicks, it is exciting and rewarding but it’s never just one click. You get a result on it, you’re hopeful, you build on it. Maybe it’s confirmed you’re even more hopeful. So it’s an incremental process. It is never one thing - boom we discovered a major thing, my god this is it. It is more like walking up a flight of stairs where each step counts and the higher up the stairs you go the better you can see what’s on top and become excited about what’s there and how you can use.
