Anthropic's new model is extraordinary and it just revealed a problem that most enterprise AI buyers have not fully reckoned with yet (Save this), The model is genuinely impressive, and Chamath Palihapitiya assessment is that Anthropic continues to push the frontier harder than almost anyone. But that same update also showed their hand on something that changes the risk calculus for every business using Claude. Anthropic's new architecture stores every prompt you send for 30 days, no exceptions, not even for enterprise customers with zero-data retention agreements. The mechanism works like this, Anthropic now evaluates your prompt before generating output, deciding what it will and will not respond to, which means your query gets filtered before you even see a response. For individual users, that introduces a meaningful risk of censorship. For companies, Chamath says it is almost a non starter, and the reason is not just the data retention itself, it is the exposure that comes from operating at scale inside a large organization. A downstream scientist using the Claude APIs could accidentally trip a filter without knowing it, a business executive inside your company could trip it, and a molecular biology researcher could trip it and all of a sudden the company gets silently cut off from a tool it has embedded into critical workflows, with no warning and no recourse. Chamath gives Anthropic credit for being honest about how the system works, saying they tell the truth but notes that in this case the truth is not good. What this moment actually signals is a structural shift in how serious companies need to think about AI governance, because the question is no longer just which model performs best on benchmarks. It is who controls the model, who is learning from your data, and whether you are comfortable with a single point of failure sitting at the center of your competitive advantage. "I look at this situation through the lens of a father.....l cannot imagine taking my son to a soccer game or a basketball game & the end result is him being dead....over what, an argument, a confrontation, a shove, a push?" "I don't think there's a scenario that where you could convince me, as a father, if my kid didn't have (a weapon)....nothing, right, there's nothing that you can tell me to convince me that someone else is justified in s******* him in the heart & F'n k*****g him. You can't justify it. I don't give a F what color the person is, nothing... this is what I would describe as everyday, teenage boy s**t....l used to be 17 years old and we got into little scuffles & mishaps like that because that's just teenage boy s**t and at no point in time did anyone ever die behind it." Here’s my written & video review of the new 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance after driving it for a week. This is the best-value new Tesla you can buy. Crazy performance, no real drawbacks, and all for just $57,490. Let’s dive in. Price: I haven’t seen many others mention this: every option on the Model Y Performance is included at no extra cost in the US (except FSD). So if you spec a Model Y Premium AWD with an upgraded paint color, tow package, white interior, and upgraded 20" wheels, a fully loaded Model Y Premium AWD ends up only about $2,500 less expensive than a fully loaded Model Y Performance. Ride Quality: I thought I might feel worse ride quality vs my Premium AWD Model Y with 20" wheels, but I struggled to find any real difference, despite the larger 21" wheels, firmer suspension setting, and 0.6" lower ride height on the Performance trim. A true testament to Tesla's engineering magic on this thing. Exterior Design: Unlike the previous Model Y Performance, Tesla made some exterior design tweaks with a new front and rear fascia to spice things up a bit. The result, in my opinion, is the best-looking Model Y trim you can buy. It definitely has a more aggressive presence in person, even if it's subtle. The carbon-fiber spoiler boosts high-speed stability and cuts aerodynamic drag by 10%. The new 21’’ Arachnid 2.0 wheels look fantastic in person, one of my favorite designs ever from Tesla. Staggered wheel and tire fitment provides better grip and steering. The beefier 275mm rear tires (255mm in the front) give the vehicle a better stance from behind. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): For the first time on a Model Y in North America, you can now plug in anything you want to the exterior charge port with an adapter, even a campsite! It provides up to 2.4 kW of power (120V at 20A) from two household outlets. It's a great feature. Interior: It’s what you know and love, but with a few changes that elevate the ownership experience. New with the Performance is a larger 16" center screen (vs. 15.4" on non-Performance models), with thinner bezels and higher resolution. It’s not a huge difference on paper, but you definitely notice it in daily use. The carbon-fiber décor on the door cards and dash is a nice touch, though I would like to see it extended to the center console. The new performance seats are the best seats of any Tesla I've ever experienced. While they retain aggressive bolstering in the torso area, the bottom seat cushion has less aggressive bolstering than on the Model 3 Performance seats, making it easier to get in and out. It also doesn’t squeeze your thighs too tightly. The powered thigh extenders add comfort on longer drives, especially for taller people who want extra support. And of course, they’re heated and ventilated. The headrests also feel more comfortable than the ones in my Model Y. I want these seats. Unlike the old Model Y Performance, the new one has no Track Mode. Why? Because nobody used it lol. No point in putting engineering resources into something people won’t use. The refreshed Model 3 Performance still has it, though. Cabin Quietness: Despite the thinner-profile tires, there is no noticeable difference vs my Premium Model Y. Decibel reading results at highway speeds were visually the same compared to my 2026 Model Y Premium (65-66). Driving Impressions: It’s amazing. Sharp, precise, and agile. The vehicle feels stable at all times. Acceleration is blistering (3.3s 0–60 mph), with plenty of punch even at higher speeds. The tires offer good grip, and cornering is fantastic for an SUV. The suspension setup is great. More steering wheel feedback would be nice, though. Cruising around traffic is a joy. The brakes are much improved over the previous Model Y Performance and are far better suited for spirited driving. There are three acceleration modes: Chill, Standard, and Insane. Just stay in Insane. You’d be insane not to lol. The car also lets you switch between two ride and handling modes: Standard and Sport. The difference isn’t huge, but Standard is better if you’ve got passengers. FSD: I unfortunately wasn’t able to get FSD V14 on this car. It had V13.2.9, so I didn’t use it much. But in the little time I did, it was smooth and comfortable. It didn’t bother me because V14 will perform just as well here as it does on my 2026 Model Y Premium AWD. Conclusion: You won’t find another new SUV today that offers this level of performance for the price. Back in 2022, when Tesla couldn’t build Model Ys fast enough, a fully loaded Model Y Performance cost over $90,440. Today, the refreshed and far more capable 2026 Model Y Performance is just $57,490 fully loaded, and you can simply subscribe to FSD for $99/month. The 2026 Model Y Performance delivers utility, great performance, comfort, tech, self-driving and everything else people love about the Model Y. It’s a no-brainer purchase. I want one badly, but I'll need to show restraint, as I’m saving up for a house lol.

It's throwing on a bikini and hitting the beach, sun on your skin, waves crashing, no schedule, no stress, just pure American summer. It's dropping the top on a convertible, letting the wind whip your hair wild while your favorite song blasts and the road stretches out forever. It's the crack of the bat at a baseball game, cold beer in hand, hot dog loaded up, strangers around you turning into friends by the seventh inning stretch. It's fireworks ripping across the sky on the Fourth of July, that chest-tightening pride when Old Glory waves high and everyone stands a little taller. 🚨 The Silvia team just announced our latest engineering advancement. Every business wants access to the highest level of intelligence, but at the lowest cost possible. The rise of LLMs has made intelligence abundant, yet one of the hardest problems across startups and corporate America is predicting the compute cost associated with this intelligence. I have been dealing with this personally as we build Silvia and the problem comes up in almost every conversation I have with CEOs, founders, and executives. Every business embraced AI about 18 months ago and things seemed great until the compute bills started to show up. The bills for internal compute usage were difficult to swallow, but things got outrageous if you had an AI product that allowed your users to consume compute without limits. I know this problem intimately because that is the situation that Silvia was in. Every question that was asked meant higher compute costs for our company. But we didn’t want to limit usage because users were getting genuine value out of the product. This challenge sent our team down a deep rabbit hole of cutting costs, while improving the experience for users. The second part was really important: we did not want to degrade the user experience by simply taking away access to the highest quality models. Thankfully, resource constraints breed innovation. We aren’t the biggest company, nor do we have the largest balance sheet, but we came up with a very novel solution that we are announcing today. The Silvia engineering team built a model router that cut costs by up to 29%, decreased latency, and improved the quality of answers for users. Trifecta! The way we do this is by reading the first 500 characters of a query and then predicting the level of effort that will be needed by a model to answer the query. The highest effort needs are routed to the most powerful models. The lowest effort needs are routed to different, better models for the query. A good example of this would be “what is the date?” You don’t need to use the latest Anthropic model to answer this query. In fact, sending a simple query like this to the most powerful model will make your compute costs increase and will actually increase the latency, which means a worse user experience for the Silvia user. By implementing the model router, the user gets a better experience and we get lower costs. Win-win. One of the interesting aspects of the implementation is that our model router runs on CPUs instead of GPUs. This allows us to read the query and predict the level of effort needed in less than 1 millisecond. This CPU implementation is why latency is not affected, nor is cost significantly increased by any potential additional GPU consumption. Another important point is that many of you have probably seen the news that OpenRouter is being purchased by Stripe for around $7 billion. This is a great outcome from what appears to be a very smart, capable team. 🚨 The Silvia team just announced our latest engineering advancement. Every business wants access to the highest level of intelligence, but at the lowest cost possible. The rise of LLMs has made intelligence abundant, yet one of the hardest problems across startups and corporate America is predicting the compute cost associated with this intelligence. I have been dealing with this personally as we build Silvia and the problem comes up in almost every conversation I have with CEOs, founders, and executives. Every business embraced AI about 18 months ago and things seemed great until the compute bills started to show up. The bills for internal compute usage were difficult to swallow, but things got outrageous if you had an AI product that allowed your users to consume compute without limits. I know this problem intimately because that is the situation that Silvia was in. Every question that was asked meant higher compute costs for our company. But we didn’t want to limit usage because users were getting genuine value out of the product. This challenge sent our team down a deep rabbit hole of cutting costs, while improving the experience for users. The second part was really important: we did not want to degrade the user experience by simply taking away access to the highest quality models. Thankfully, resource constraints breed innovation. We aren’t the biggest company, nor do we have the largest balance sheet, but we came up with a very novel solution that we are announcing today. The Silvia engineering team built a model router that cut costs by up to 29%, decreased latency, and improved the quality of answers for users. Trifecta! The way we do this is by reading the first 500 characters of a query and then predicting the level of effort that will be needed by a model to answer the query. The highest effort needs are routed to the most powerful models. The lowest effort needs are routed to different, better models for the query. A good example of this would be “what is the date?” You don’t need to use the latest Anthropic model to answer this query. In fact, sending a simple query like this to the most powerful model will make your compute costs increase and will actually increase the latency, which means a worse user experience for the Silvia user. GAVIN BAKER: NVIDIA IS NO LONGER JUST A CHIP COMPANY. Gavin Baker recently laid out one of the sharpest observations about the current AI hardware cycle, and it explains why Nvidia's multiple looks strange relative to the strategic position the company actually occupies. The starting point is a shift in how semiconductor supply is being allocated. Historically, buyers with enormous volume like Apple could break long-term agreements with suppliers whenever they wanted. There was no meaningful consequence, because the supplier had nowhere else to go. That world is over. In the current cycle, there are at least four major memory buyers with genuine scale, plus a wave of AI startups adding to demand. The dynamic has flipped. If a hyperscaler breaks an LTA on price, the supplier can now retaliate by reallocating volume to a competitor. In a cyclical industry where oversupply is always followed by undersupply, breaking an LTA today can cost you your entire allocation the next time capacity gets tight. That leverage is one reason Nvidia's position is so unusual. Every constraint in the AI buildout tilts in its favor. Nothing on earth is more financeable than an Nvidia GPU. And on land and power, Nvidia is playing the matchmaking chess game between customers, energy suppliers, and infrastructure partners. The most interesting development Baker highlighted is Nvidia's new business model. He described it as a credit wrapper with a revenue share above a certain GPU price floor. Nvidia is financing customer deployments while retaining upside if GPU prices stay elevated. This converts Nvidia from a pure hardware vendor into something structurally closer to a cloud franchise via royalties on the compute being deployed on its chips. Nvidia could end up with an effectively massive cloud business very quickly, not through building data centers but through collecting royalties on the compute those data centers produce. The market is still pricing $NVDA as a semiconductor company. The company itself has already moved beyond that model. The gap between the two will eventually close. What’s the best way to handle such fears as a parent? First, recognize that irrational fears are still fears. Treat your child’s concerns as valid - even when they may seem silly to you as an adult. Next, offer - and model - reassurance. Your own calmness will be an important cue to your child that they are not in danger. Finally, help your child to problem solve. Your questions and guidance are invaluable. In this case you might offer something like, “Oh isn’t that interesting? Snakes do sometimes look squiggly like that. But wasn’t this just in your hand? You ate it, right? And you wouldn’t have eaten a snake. Now that I'm 80 hours in and have completed Rinacita, I want to give my thoughts on Wuthering Waves as a whole, both from the perspective of a new player and as someone who hates the gacha monetization model. When I first started I was told that 1.0 (The first arc/region of the game) was mid. I disagree with that sentiment. While the first 7 or so hours were bogged down a bit by lore terms and exposition that often left me confused, around Yinlin's companion quest is when I started getting invested and upon reaching Mt. Firmament (10-15 hours?) I was locked in. What I WILL say, is that the first arc of the game is mid in COMPARISON to what the game offers and becomes later on in every single regard, writing, dialogue, gameplay, music, map/world design, everything. Rinacita is truly a game changer and you can see the game's budget increase in real time with higher quality animations and cutscenes, as well as the map basically being an entire game on top. Every single companion quest without fail has ranged from solid to great, even making me tear up on a few occasions (Encore lol) and making me care about characters I never thought I would. They're truly a highlight and the writing is what makes this game go from just playing with attractive characters to playing with characters you actually care about. The sheer amount of content this game offers is absurd with both varying forms of short/long form content. It's hard for the game to feel repetitive when it gives you a new character to play as or constantly introduces new mechanics. (puzzles, traversal, combat challenges, bosses, etc) Even 80 hours in there's constantly new mechanics being introduced to me. The combat and team building is great, simple but with a level of depth that allows for some player expression (especially newer characters) and the various Forte's and movesets of the characters are both satisfying and incredibly flashy. The audio design specifically on some attacks is very punchy like Chisa's ult. The game is also just, gorgeous. The art design for everything in Wuwa is stunning, the map sizes are huge with varying biomes and the heights you can fly can be jaw dropping at times. Almost every location is screenshot worthy and the music does a lot of heavy lifting to, especially once you get to Rinacita. Wuwa just might also be the most F2P friendly Gacha that exists and while I stand by the idea that every game (including this one) would be better without gacha systems I have to give credit where it's due. It is INCREDIBLY generous with summoning currency (asterite) and I'd even wager to say, due to the store prices being absurd (If I remember correctly it's about $25 for 1 multi-summon) unless you're very well off it's a horrible decision to spend money for summons in this game when you could easily grind that in 2-3 hours of gameplay. Not to mention the pity system being very favorable and lenient. Even if you find yourself playing with mostly base characters for 40 hours (like I did because I didn't know you got more asterite from exploring than doing quests) the game is constantly giving you new characters to temporarily play as in quests to stop combat from getting too repetitive. Once again the characters are a massive highlight, in design, gameplay and writing, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite worlds where every arc introduces new favorites for me. I find myself enjoying where Rover is being taken as a character and that she's starting to speak more and more, slowly seeming to become less of a self-insert even if she'll always be that to an extent. I'm not going to lie to you and say the story is some unique masterpiece that avoids all tropes. It's not, you've likely seen similar stories told, but it executes everything at a high level and accomplishes what it's trying to do. The biggest flaws are the file size and the prices of the in-game store, as well as it's nature as a gacha game. Even if it may be the most generous one. The actual optimization of the game I find is solid, on PC with a 4060 I run on almost max settings and get 70+fps even with how massive the world is. The starting few hours can also be slow and exposition heavy with lore-terms you don't understand. Leaving you confused and disconnected for awhile, even later on in Rinacita the dialogue can stretch on for too long sometimes which can be a pace killer, but it doesn't ruin the quality of the stories it's trying to tell. From what people say I haven't even gotten to the best part of the game and I'm very excited! If I were to give a current rating, it would be a 8/10 and as long as you don't spend money on summons, I would recommend at least giving it a try.

The first part is the industrialization of the fundraising process, or I'd say liability gathering. So literally raising as much capital as fast as you can. What comes second is, as a result of that, the industrialization of the asset side. So think about investing. So if you're on an investment team and all of a sudden your firm has a lot of money to invest your behavior has to start to change because you have to deploy that money much quicker. The best way to raise a lot of capital is to make it very simple. Make it very narrow. What started to change in 2018 is there are these things called SMAs (separately managed accounts). Prior to 2018, for the most part, the private capital ecosystem was basically funneled through funds. [After] every conversation with LPs was basically we want an SMA – you go to an LP, and say, “we're gonna raise $500 million or a $100 million and we're going to just do direct lending, or private equity, or real estate. The industry started to raise capital from the institutional channel. So pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, to some extent, endowments raise as much capital as possible in the simplest form. But the growth in institutional SMAs started to really taper off. So the next place where the industry started to go was the wealth space. But the characterization of the wealth space is that it's always easiest to raise in the pro-cyclical environments when things are going really well. But when things start to not go well, the wealth space or retail or individuals want their money back quickly – it's an important concept. And it got us to one of the symptoms that we're here today. But the one thing I wanna point out is that the SMA was a symptom, what's going on in the wealth system is a symptom.
