@City_Ekurhuleni Good to see this finally happening but this problem is all over. Buildings & houses have been hijacked & turned into informal settlements. Back yards are now settlements. What were the authorities doing for 30 years when all this was taking place under their noses?

We are in the Pretoria CBD for a special by-law enforcement operation. We’ve closed down dozens of salons that are operating inside a well known building located on Madiba Street. None of the salons, operating inside this building, are registered or in possession of trading licenses issued by the City of Tshwane. In addition, the Tshwane Metro Police checked the documentation of foreign nationals who operate the salons. To run a business in Tshwane, you must be issued with a trading license. The safety of residents, clients and employees must be protected. City of Tshwane

We have identified a City owned building in the CBD that was abandoned for 10 years. We want this property to be used as a workspace for young entrepreneurs. The decision to do this follows an X-Space we held with young entrepreneurs who complained about not having space to work. We are availing this city asset for the benefit of young people to work and do business. The building, located on Nana Sita, and should be ready by early 2026 to be utilised as an Entrepreneurs Corner. We are committed to implementing the Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy.
