As a black person it’s almost impossible to not enjoy or be apart of something that wasn’t part of slavery and racism. There so many things that are just ingrained in our daily lives that if we look up their roots we’d barely do anything.

So THIS is why my deddy used to call Wachovia “Walk-All-Ovia” because BIIIIITCH…

@moneyymaya It’s really crazy to me that half of the modern companies in the US partook in slavery but weren’t disbanded. I wouldn’t expect anything else though tbh 🙄

The Civil Rights Act isn’t even 60 years old, y’all really think these companies weren’t pandering to their customers??? Y’all would love to see what the sitting president said about Birth of a Nation dropping

Damn I was just gonna say maybe this can be used for people to track back their roots to Africa/ families etc.

Any company that was around that time was funded directly by the slave trade. The fact that states get to omit sections of US history that isn’t favorable (~85%) is monstrous. I think universities and colleges should require a full unbiased US history class freshman yr.

@Shaneece95 It’s getting to a point where it’s almost no companies I can support and rest easy at night. So many companies and institutions that black people should be getting reparations for .

Appreciate the facts bro. Also, when talking about reparations and “generational” wealth. These are huge topics that need to be in the forefront and also why non-slave descendant people should just stay outta the convo all together. #Reparations
