As South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson lies about the case of convicted p*dophile Donald Gresh, here are the facts. And I come bearing receipts, as always. Page 3: P*dophile admits to using file sharing software and networks. Page 11, Line 5: The plea deal was done in 15 minutes. Plea deals are cut between the solicitor and defense. In this case the solicitor was South Carolina Attorney General, Alan Wilson. The judge is usually just a rubber stamp on the deal put together by both sides. Page 23-24: Hard drives and computers were seized but don’t see cell phone(s) listed. Page 26: P*dophile pleads guilty on April 7, 2022 and sentencing was deferred. Page 29: Describes “one of many graphic photo images depicting children with adults and animals.” Page 29: States 1,900 images were found on this guy’s devices. PDF parsing is still painful because LLMs reorder text in complex layouts, break tables across pages, and fail on graphs or images. 💡Testing the new open-source OCRFlux model, and here the results are really good for a change. So OCRFlux is a multimodal, LLM based toolkit for converting PDFs and images into clean, readable, plain Markdown text. Because the underlying VLM is only 3B param, it runs even on a 3090 GPU. The model is available on Hugging Face . The engine that powers the OCRFlux, teaches the model to rebuild every page and then stitch fragments across pages into one clean Markdown file. It bundles one vision language model with 3B parameters that was fine-tuned from Qwen 2.5-VL-3B-Instruct for both page parsing and cross-page merging. OCRFlux reads raw page images and, guided by task prompts, outputs Markdown for each page and merges split elements across pages. The evaluation shows Edit Distance Similarity (EDS) 0.967 and cross‑page table Tree Edit Distance 0.950, so the parser is both accurate and layout aware. This answer by the Reserve Bank governor on the Rand Manipulation by the Forex Cartel banks doesn’t persuade me. 1. Section 224 of the constitution says the Reserve Bank has a constitutional mandate to preserve the value of the currency. 2. The website says - The SARB is responsible for regulating cross-border transactions, preventing the abuse of the financial system and supporting the regulation of financial institutions. 3. They have the Prudential Authority whose role is to regulates financial institutions and market infrastructures to promote and enhance their safety and soundness, and support financial stability. 4. You can’t abdicate that to the competition commission exclusively. Also the Reserve Bank has more resources and technical capacity to monitor and investigate this kind of bank malpractice. 5. I would say that the commission of inquiry in 2002 was effective. In 1999 the rate was 1:6 by 2001 the rate was now 1:11. There was clear tampering and after the inquiry it was stopped the rate went back to 1:5 by 2004. 6. The Rand has lost 44% of its value since 2010. Why would the Reserve Bank not be concerned about that and fail to move proactively? Why wait for international reports when there is a downward trend for over 4 years? Why rely on an international code and not investigate local banks and actively push them to comply? The bank is very active in raising interest rates in the name of protecting the Rand. They seem to take an opposite approach when banks are responsible for devaluation of the Rand.
