Watch the full episode of The Basic Income Show that this excerpt is from:

Capitalism is a socioeconomic system in which people are free to exchange value and the proper role of governance is the protection of individual rights. For UBI to be compatible with Capitalism it would need to be voluntarily funded. Otherwise, its directly in conflict.

Where is capitalism? I live in the US and it takes more than 60% of my income for the government to function. Every transaction I make is taxed or regulated by the government. When I'm dead they'll still need 40% of what wealth I had for the 'common good'.

The Government doesn’t want welfare to work, they want welfare to continue so their crony friends keep making money. Just look at the homeless in California, 26 billion divested and more homeless than ever.

@TeamSatoshi CBDC + UBI = FULL CONTROL. It means = NO FREEDOM!!

There is no better way to economically empower the hardest working poor. The caring economy - health care & day care workers have low salaries b/c the 'market' doesn't allow a fair wage. It's madness. UBI would subsidise workers to remain in place & allow more clients to pay.

Scott. Let’s say that UBI happens. How will it not become the “new” baseline that the 1%ers vacuum up?

Yes, that is why socialists, marxists and communists don't support UBI.

Childish naive nonsense. The math and economics do not add up.

Agree. Believe that a basic universal income would stabilise citizens' expenditure, thus creating stability for business.
