While learning Unreal Engine 5, I decided to port over most of Hyperion to it to see if I could potentially move my workflows over to UE5. Although it worked decently well, it didn't work well enough to allow me to change over entirely. Hyperion is simply too complex of an asset for real-time workflows (or at least is limited due to my knowledge of said workflows). 131 4K-8K UDIMs at over 8 channels and a solid amount of shaders with layering being the biggest bottleneck. I couldn't even match the shading setup to what I have in RenderMan, UE gave me a warning that the material was too complex. I was using the new Substrate materials, which mimic RenderMan LAMA shaders. The render below is using the pathtracer. As you can see there are some random flickering parts which I couldn't fix during my tests. This render of course doesn't have any displacement either (which Hyperion heavily relies on). I think Unreal Engine has a very bright future, but it is still limited by todays hardware technology for high end VFX work. Maybe in a few years I will give it another try when hardware improves and the engine becomes a bit more versatile in feature-set.

So, by now I'm sure you saw the AI fanart recreation of the Princess Mononoke trailer. It got a LOT of feedback, mostly from people telling the creator what a terrible thing he did and how AI assisted workflows can never be used for anything good or meaningful and most of all that it can never be used for art. That's such nonsense. Of course it can. If it's wielded by artists and great storytellers, great things will come of it. If you hand a violin to someone on the street they'll be able to make it make sounds.. if you hand it to a talented musician it becomes a conveyer of thoughts, emotion and art. Here's a small scene from Mononoke that I did an AI take on.. it's far from perfect and to animate this properly would require much more work. The AI workflows we have today are lacking so many control elements. But to think those things won't come.. come on. Of course they will. But most importantly, in a way where they don't overtake the art completely, but instead acts like an "amplifier" of the artists using the tools. This technology will be in most of our creative tools in the very near future with full controllability. Oh and I never liked the idea of turning old disney classics into live-action films, or doing the same with the beautiful work of Studio Ghibli. But for the purpose of this post I hope you'll forgive me ;-) #art #animation

The Sabotaging Practice of Over Supply and Sameness in the NFT Space. The current zeitgeist of the NFT space is that the same artists are doing the same kind of work five times a year, with project after project leaving a trail of disappointment and discontent among collectors and all of us watching in disbelief as huge resources are extracted from the space over work that feels like it could be left as an "artist study." I understand that you can do what you want with your money as collectors, but we are killing the whole space with this incestuous practice. No artist is that prolific to be able to do 5 collections of 100+ pieces each every year and actually deliver innovation and some kind of creative evolution. Of course, they can pretend play that the work has something new, but there is no precedent nor proof that that has ever happened in the speed that it happens in the NFT space. Again, people are free to through away their resources on whatever they want but with this way of doing things, we more and more are going to start seeing the consequences. Oh! There are consequences? Yes. Maybe unintended, but there are. Let's see. Let's start with the loss of belief in the NFT space as somewhere where emerging artists can come and find support for their experiments. Why even bother to bring experiments, innovation, and new ways to think of art on the blockchain if the same people have all the collectors hypnotized with their magical flutes? Why even try to come to a space where taking risks and challenging the status quo (the mission of art!!!) is overlooked? This makes the NFT space a social club and not a space for art. I guess it is fine, but IMO it is a recipe for disaster. New collectors stay away because the art will slowly but surely become stale and un-challenging. Why even bother to come and see what is happening here if you can't, as a collector, see new weird and up-and-coming artists? Unpopular opinion about El Salvador. A TON of workers here are lazy as hell and i do hope this message reaches many Salvadoreños in the United States. You leave the job site, little will get done and yes tools and materials will disappear. I said it. If you’re going to build a home, start a business, or just hire a few helping hands for that side project, get ready to fire fast. Put in systems of checks and balances, hire solid management, use cameras, and lock up materials. If you have the time or money you or someone you really trust must manage the project on SITE. I’ve hired thousands of people throughout the last few 6 years while personally living in 9 Latin countries and El Salvador has been one of the hardest to work in. El Salvador also happens to be my favorite country at the moment with my favorite people. It’s beautiful, small, has a Chuck E cheese for my daughter but most important, it’s safe for my family. So why is it so damn hard to work with people here? I think it’s because of the civil war. This is going to sound crazy coming from a president of a non profit but free money destroys people. It enables them. It ruins their will to work ultimately creating a lazy and slothful person Over 2.5 million people from El Salvador live in the United States. MANY of them send money every 2 weeks to their aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews to “help” them. This has turned into dependency. It has created a cycle of entitlement rather than self-sufficiency. “Why would I work for 10 hours in the sun when I can tell my aunt that I need money for medicine?” There are kids here with no desire to self educate, no desire to work, because they’re sucking the tit of their families in the United States or Canada. 2 of my hardest workers who show up early, never miss a day are these two men in this video. No arms, and an elderly who just wants to work. Their speed compared to a young healthy man is slow in comparison but their will and desire to work is unwavering. They’re inspiring. They are happy at work. They don’t complain. They’re not rich working for me but they are ok. I believe they are hard workers because they were never a part of a welfare system given to them from family in the states. I also believe that the civil war has created a massive divide between the wealthy and the poor. Maybe this already existed but chatting with enough people you can put 2 and 2 together. The socioeconomic divides between the wealthy and the poor. Certain families growing incredibly rich over the suffering of the lower class. People have lost trust, they’ve lost hope. Their views on money and rich people are shaped by past experiences of being taken advantage of. People are sick and tired of making $75 per pay period in the farms of El Salvador. I know that’s a whole other discussion. How do we fix this? I don’t know but I know my mission with casa conejo is to inspire others to work their asses off and to get paid by the sweat of their brows. I want to create a micro economy that allows the poor of the poor to grow! To break the cycle of poverty. To shatter the idea of “we can’t make it in El Salvador” We can and we will by working our asses off and getting paid what we deserve. Once we’re open a percentage of profits will go towards these workers. The rest back into our projects of building schools, running our women’s shelters, feeding the elderly. Let’s do this

LLM Artifacts Connected to Andrej Karpathy's LLM Knowledge base idea, I've been building out a fun way to generate dynamic artifacts from these knowledge bases with the goal of discovering and revealing meaningful and deeper insights. LLM KBs are hard to consume for humans, as I think they are more built for agents. So the question is, what form would be useful for humans to take actions and make important decisions? That's what I am trying to figure out with these artifacts. The artifact example shows a pulse on HN discussions around AI-related stories. The insights can go deeper, of course, but this is already super fun and thought-provoking, like some of my favorite podcasts. The format and depth matter a lot. The aggregation skills of agents are outstanding if you tune the prompts and skill carefully. I built this artifact generator in a few minutes through an agent skill, but I feel like there are so many ways that LLM-generated information can be used and consumed. Like generating deeper insights and analysis, and things that are just not feasible for humans today. The generated artifact (including its data and design) serves as reusable templates or can be updated in real-time via auomations, which is something I am also working on. It is truly an insane way to monitor and track information. Better than a newsletter. Better than newspapers. There is something about this that gets me really excited about the future of AI agents for knowledge generation and discovery. Lots of hidden gems everywhere just waiting to be discovered and acted on if the information is presented correctly. This is not perfect. The format, style/prose can be improved, but this is easy to customize via skill. You can personalize it to your liking. I feel like these dynamic artifacts are going to emerge as a strong new medium to stay on the cutting edge of things, both for agents and humans. My target is research, of course. This was just a basic example. Besides animation, I am also targeting other components like voice, videos, images, slides, etc. This space is full of opportunities to explore. A further lawsuit against individual officers will soon be served, alleging amongst others, material non disclosure in the warrant application process. I offered a ceasefire and the opportunity to resolve this situation almost 3 weeks ago, once again it fell on deaf ears, so i’m forced back in to the public to seek justice and accountability for how I have been treated. I went from ZERO($0) to 5 figures in less than 5 months The year 2024 was a defining year for me and a lot of my friends. This story is one I should have told since but was waiting for the right time It all began in August after losing a cumulative of $20,000. That was literally all I had left with me and was down to less than $300. They say it all begins when you are down to your last 1 million and funny how I didn't even have up to a million Over the course of several days I began asking myself questions as to what I would have done with the money. I could have given my parent their dream house or gotten a car for myself, my mum and started my Agric business. We have very few Normal people on here as this space is toxic enough to destroy you and your mental health 2) Network - See, I know all your idolos are telling you to grind hard which is factually correct but the real profits in this life are from who you know. I strongly believe the reason all my clients refer me like their lives depend on it is because I handle my job with a unique style of excellence. Starting from my personal page to my clients jobs and even mannerisms 3) Hard work - This aspect has been misused so much. Hard work although very vital must be accompanied with a lot of smart work for you to have results. Scripture shows us that there is a possibility for two people to engage in similar work while they get different result. The one with the smaller result was termed a FOOLISH MAN and the one with better results was called a WISE MAN. The difference is in the knowing, you need to learn how to actually work hard 4) Voice out - Make sure you always voice out when you are not doing as much as you are supposed to. I have a lot of my guys that I tell intricate stuffs about my money-making journey and everyone puts heads together to ensure we all make money I might sound like aspire to perspire but the reality is, bouncing back is difficult but I want you to know that your hard work will eventually pay off I could have just said GOD DID but I know there's someone out there that might need this. Usually I don’t speak on political issues often however Charlie Kirk’s death (RIP) hits a little too close to home. Perhaps it is because anyone who has some resemblance of a following who is outspoken against any narrative online has probably received some sort of threat in their inbox. (I know I have) It is baffling to me that one could harbour such a large amount of hate inside of them to want to have another silenced for having differing opinions than their own. I think about all my outspoken friends who are in positions faced to the public and of course myself and what this potentially means for all of us. This of course, would never stop me from speaking out to what’s right, so perhaps that is also why I wanted to make a comment. To me it is disgusting behaviour to mock/be happy about the death of people you disagree with that have done nothing wrong. I think about all my friends, family who could be wrongfully persecuted based off the delusions of perceived “sides”. The amount of hate manufactured and projected onto you for just living your life and not complying to a certain ideal is insane. I don’t like fear mongering but I also think it’s important to stay vigilant to what’s going on around you. It is a very real reality that there are people out there that hate you just for simply being you and what you represent to them. We’ve seen evidence of this twice this week and I suspect more to come unfortunately. I am always hopeful so I will leave this message on a positive note, that just as much hate has also been met with just as much love. There are many amazing kind hearted people out there standing up for what’s right and building community, coming together. Even if they are moving in silence behind the scenes or in front stage, I see you and I honour your work.
