@JoshuaPHilll Is a truck driver considered unskilled? When I think of unskilled work it means a person with no specialised secondary educations or certification or experience can be expected to perform competently with 2 to 3 months of training. Slight misnomer but fair category I thought

@JoshuaPHilll Go back to digging ditches. That’s unskilled labor. Trucking is highly skilled, highly paid, and almost all truckers are right wing.

We made trucking easier to enter. I am not convinced we made it better. Change my mind. Manuals used to keep some unskilled labor out. Now about 80% of new Class 8 trucks are AMTs. Meanwhile, fatal crashes involving large trucks and buses went from 3,656 in 2014 to 5,476 in 2022. Not proof. But not nothing either.
