This strip sits right above the former Viet Wah grocery store location on Jackson St. that burned down last year. Angry neighbors say it's been like this for more than a month. HAPPENING NOW: Don't let all the pretty Christmas lights fool you. The drug dens in downtown Seattle are roaring out of control. Look at this one in front of the Olympic Tower Apartments at the corner of 3rd Ave and Pine St. Everyone is doing fentanyl. I bumped into this young Korean American woman who's been a regular out here for years. She's probably in her early 30's but now looks like she's in her 50's from all the drug use. This human catastrophe continues unchecked in this city and the politicians are all looking the other way. King County Public Health is also MIA. Anyone ever see Councilmember Bob Kettle walk this nightmare stretch in his district? We now know outgoing Mayor Bruce Harrell threw in the towel after he lost his re-election bid. So I had to call independent journalist Nick Shirley(Nick shirley) for another perspective. Shirley agrees the conditions on the ground are now worse than ever. He noted cops rarely stop in this hood or come out of their cars to patrol the streets. It seems like Mayor Bruce Harrell(Mayor Bruce Harrell) has thrown in the towel on this community even though the November General Election only two months away. This is obviously an undercount since I can't be everywhere. Drug addicts have also taken over Dr. Jose Rizal Park. Since outgoing Mayor Bruce Harrell has given up on the city, I am keeping a running list of encampments for Mayor-elect Katie Wilson. But it's unclear if she will do anything about it. Cops have arrested one man near 10th Ave & Jackson St. Investigators believe the suspect is responsible for all the attacks. The motive appears to be random. CID neighbors have been sounding the alarm about worsening crime and open air drug use just in the past few weeks. Most of the addicts and dealers cleared from 3rd Ave & Pike St have now set up shop in this hood. Councilmember Tammy Morales remains MIA and there is now even more pressure on Mayor Bruce Harrell to clean up this area for good.

#EXCLUSIVE: Over the weekend, I confronted Seattle mayoral candidate Katie Wilson(Katie Wilson for Seattle Mayor) about her Transit Riders Union's ties to controversial far-left activist group Stop The Sweeps Seattle. They've been a thorn in the side of Mayor Bruce Harrell(Mayor Bruce Harrell) since the beginning of his administration. #EXCLUSIVE: Over the weekend, I confronted Seattle mayoral candidate Katie Wilson(Katie Wilson for Seattle Mayor) about her Transit Riders Union's ties to controversial far-left activist group Stop The Sweeps Seattle. They've been a thorn in the side of Mayor Bruce Harrell(Mayor Bruce Harrell) since the beginning of his administration. The groups were making so called "harm reduction" kits for homeless drug addicts which usually includes meth pipes and fentanyl foil.
