My brother left his home from with his wife and kids because he could not use drugs there the city gave him a free place up under the Housing First program. He checked out that program the same way this person just did this morning. This is the outcome. I have documented so many of these housing first without treatment or without checking on someone with a drug addiction. This is always the outcome.

Just walked Cheasty Park with Timothy Emerson and found makeshift cabins, massive trash piles, hoarded junk, fire damage, and a young girl stuck languishing in a tent. Frightening scenarios like this rundown SRO on Granville Street are exactly why so many neighbourhoods across British Columbia are protesting the NDP’s so-called “supportive housing.” Despite the comforting name, these facilities too often lack real treatment, remain far from drug-free, and end up concentrating chaos, crime, and human suffering in our communities. The NDP continues to push this ideological model while ignoring the evidence and the voices of residents who have to live with the consequences. It is time for real solutions that actually support recovery and public safety, not more taxpayer-funded failures that make the problem worse.

The new HUD FY2026 Continuum of Care NOFO (notice of funding opportunity) requires treatment and recovery services to be integrated into housing programs. No more warehousing people with no accountability. No more taxpayer-funded free housing for life for active drug addicts. Funding has grown from $2B in 2020 to $4.04 billion today — but money alone can’t fix bad policy. This policy shift changes everything: • Providers will now be measured by real outcomes — how many people exit homelessness and reach self-sufficiency. • No more automatic contract renewals (95% used to sail through). Everything is now competitive, scored, and reviewed. • 40% of funding is shifting toward transitional housing with services (up from just 1% before). • Permanent Supportive Housing returns to its original purpose: for those with serious mental and physical disabilities and not active addiction. The Mayor Katie B. Wilson owes Christians in WA State an apology for his bigoted remarks after folks who were holding a peaceful worship event at Cal Anderson Park were violently assaulted for the high crime of expressing their deeply held religious beliefs in the form of a permitted worship event on city property. 23 antifa thugs were arrested. Cops were hospitalized. Church people were assaulted. And the Mayor Katie B. Wilson has the audacity to blame Christians for the violence. The City of Seattle is plagued by chronically inept political leadership and Mayor Harrell is no exception. Bruce Harrell’s administration is an embarrassment to the Emerald City. The Mayor’s niece (and former Deputy Mayor) publicly accused the Mayor of sexism and cultivating a toxic office culture in September of this year. Since Bruce took office, homicide is up 26% and rape is up 12%. Motor vehicle theft is up 38%. Drug deaths are up 89%. Bruce Harrell himself was arrested on weapons and assault charges prior to running for public office. He pulled a gun on a woman who was 8 months pregnant because he was upset she took his parking spot. The Mayor is on his third police chief since taking office. No one wants to work for him. His own family can’t stand him. And antifa gets a free pass from him. I guess pulling guns on pregnant women isn’t enough for Mayor Harrell. He’s now got to blame Christians for a city that he has let go to hell.

Wilson owes Christians in WA State an apology for his bigoted remarks after folks who were holding a peaceful worship event at Cal Anderson Park were violently assaulted for the high crime of expressing their deeply held religious beliefs in the form of a permitted worship event on city property. 23 antifa thugs were arrested. Cops were hospitalized. Church people were assaulted. And the Mayor Katie B. Wilson has the audacity to blame Christians for the violence. The City of Seattle is plagued by chronically inept political leadership and Mayor Harrell is no exception. Bruce Harrell’s administration is an embarrassment to the Emerald City. The Mayor’s niece (and former Deputy Mayor) publicly accused the Mayor of sexism and cultivating a toxic office culture in September of this year. Since Bruce took office, homicide is up 26% and rape is up 12%. Motor vehicle theft is up 38%. Drug deaths are up 89%. Bruce Harrell himself was arrested on weapons and assault charges prior to running for public office. He pulled a gun on a woman who was 8 months pregnant because he was upset she took his parking spot. The Mayor is on his third police chief since taking office. No one wants to work for him. His own family can’t stand him. And antifa gets a free pass from him. I guess pulling guns on pregnant women isn’t enough for Mayor Harrell. He’s now got to blame Christians for a city that he has let go to hell.
