We have received deeply disturbing and chilling reports from Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, where a Kashmiri shawl seller Bilal Ahmad was brutally assaulted by a group of Bajrang Dal workers led by Ankur Singh. He is not a newcomer. He has been selling shawls in Udham Singh Nagar for the past 9–10 years, living peacefully within the community. Despite this, he was threatened, asked to vacate the area and leave the state immediately, his stock was looted, and he was even threatened with death. We urge the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji, to immediately intervene, put an end to this reign of terror, and ensure the prompt arrest of the culprits. We also request the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah Sahab, to urgently take up the matter with his counterpart in Uttarakhand and ensure protection for Kashmiri traders. We further appeal to the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Amit Shah Ji, for his personal intervention in this grave matter. Kashmiris are not outsiders in India. We are equal citizens and an integral part of this country, entitled to the same rights, freedoms, and protections as any other Indian under the Constitution. Targeting innocent Kashmiri traders and forcing them out of cities only deepens alienation and mistrust. This is precisely what our hostile neighbour seeks, to sow division and weaken our social fabric. By harassing Kashmiris, we are inadvertently playing into their hands and undermining national unity. We urge Uttarakhand government to take immediate and decisive action by directing the authorities to register an FIR and book the right-wing elements involved under the relevant provisions of law. Such acts of violence, intimidation, and communal hatred must not go unchecked. Strict and exemplary action will send a strong message that communal bigotry has no place in a progressive, inclusive, and democratic society. Nothing will do more damage to the idea of India in Kashmir than incidents like these. The rule of law must prevail. India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity. Any assault on that spirit is an assault on the nation itself. Uttarakhand Police गृहमंत्री कार्यालय, HMO India Udham Singh Nagar Police Uttarakhand Arfa Khanum Sherwani Preeti Choudhry Kaushal K. Yet another incident; the ninth such case this year of harassment and intimidation of Kashmiri shawl sellers has been reported today from Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, where local goons allegedly threatened traders attempting to earn an honest livelihood. This incident reflects a deeply alarming and recurring pattern of targeted harassment, intimidation, and insecurity faced by Kashmiri shawl sellers across the state. Despite possessing valid documents and having undergone proper verification by the authorities, these traders are being unlawfully barred from carrying out their business, raising serious concerns about arbitrariness and discrimination. These shawl sellers, who have contributed immensely to the local economy over the years and have become an integral part of the social and cultural fabric of the region, are now being pushed into an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. We appeal to the Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Ji to ensure the prompt identification and arrest of all those responsible and to send a clear, firm, and unequivocal message that lawlessness, communal intimidation, and vigilante behaviour will not be tolerated in the state. The persistent inaction by the state authorities points to a worrying breakdown of law and order. The absence of swift and visible action against fringe elements has emboldened such actors to operate with impunity, turning daily livelihood into a source of fear for Kashmiri traders. The rule of law must prevail, and the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of Kashmiri citizens must be guaranteed without exception. We received deeply disturbing and chilling reports from Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, where two Kashmiri shawl sellers were brutally assaulted by members of the Bajrang Dal. Also, Around 16 other Kashmiri traders, mostly from the Kupwara district, have been threatened, harassed, and forcibly evicted from their rented accommodations. These are not newcomers, many of them have been doing business and selling shawls in Mussoorie for years, contributing to the local economy and living peacefully within the community. Yet, instead of receiving safety, support, and protection from the state authorities, they were reportedly asked by the Mussoorie Police themselves to vacate the area and leave the state immediately effectively abandoning their livelihoods. One of the traders shared, “All our goods, worth at least ₹30 lakh, are still lying there. We had no choice but to flee back to Kashmir, leaving everything behind.” We urge Hon'ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji to immediately intervene, put an end to this reign of terror, and ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits. We also request. Hon'ble Omar Abdullah Ji to urgently take up the matter with his counterpart in Uttarakhand. Request. Hon'ble HM Amit Shah Ji for Personal Intervention in it. Kashmiris are not outsiders in India. We are equal citizens and an integral part of this country. This is precisely what our hostile neighbour, Pakistan, wants to sow division, alienation, and mistrust between Kashmiris and the rest of the country. By targeting innocent Kashmiri traders and pushing them out of Indian cities, we are playing directly into their hands and serving their agenda. Rahul Gandhi Kaushal K. The issue of alleged harassment and eviction threats faced by Kashmiri Muslim students at CT University over Sehri and Iftar arrangements during Ramzan has now been resolved. I only wish such responsiveness and sensitivity were visible across the country. Punjab, in many ways, continues to stand apart. It has always been a compassionate and welcoming home for Kashmiri students, and that enduring legacy of brotherhood and inclusivity must be preserved. Following sustained intervention by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, the Punjab Government acted decisively. After the matter was taken up with the Punjab Chief Secretary, senior district officials; including SSP Ludhiana Ankur Gupta and SDM Upinderjit Kaur Brar visited the university campus to assess the situation and ensure the safety and security of the students. The Punjab Chief Secretary informed us that Dr. Nitin Tandon has been removed from the position of Vice Chancellor with immediate effect, and that a high-level inquiry has been constituted. The university has also initiated an internal investigation. Also, the Punjab Government has set up a high-level committee, headed by the SDM, to conduct a thorough and time-bound inquiry into the incident, including any administrative lapses or misconduct. Shahi Imam Punjab, Maulana Mohammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi, also visited the campus, met both students and university authorities, and played a constructive role in facilitating dialogue to de-escalate tensions and restore normalcy. We thank the Punjab CS, the district administration, the Sikh community, police authorities, the university management, and community leaders for ensuring the safety and dignity of the students and for resolving the matter through dialogue and institutional intervention. We sincerely thank the Government of Punjab, the district administration, the Sikh community, the police authorities, the university management, and respected community leaders for their timely intervention in ensuring the safety and well-being of the students, maintaining peace and harmony, and resolving the matter through constructive dialogue. गृहमंत्री कार्यालय, HMO India Omar Abdullah Arfa Khanum Sherwani Preeti Choudhry Kaushal K. Have received another chilling video. A Kashmiri shawl seller Jehangir Ahmad was mercilessly thrashed by fringe elements in Dehra, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh in yet another shocking incident of harassment. He has sustained fractures and multiple injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Himachal Pradesh. This is the 16th case this year in HP involving the targeting of Kashmiri shawl sellers. The victim was threatened and told to leave the state, not allowed to sell his shawls, his belongings were vandalised, and his mobile phone was smashed when he tried to record the incident. He has been selling shawls in the area for the past 15 years and is not a newcomer. He has lived peacefully within the local community and earned his livelihood with dignity. Despite this, he was abused, threatened with death, and asked to vacate the area immediately. He was also warned that Kashmiris would not be allowed to work there. We urge the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Ji, to take immediate and decisive action by directing the authorities to register a case against the fringe and right-wing elements involved under the relevant provisions of law. Such behaviour must not go unchecked. Strict action will send a strong message that communal bigotry has no place in a progressive and inclusive society. We urged CM to put an end to this growing reign of terror against Kashmiri traders and ensure the prompt identification and arrest of those responsible, so that a clear deterrent is set. Kashmiris are not outsiders in India. We are equal citizens and an integral part of this country, entitled to the same rights, freedoms, and protections as any other Indian under the Constitution. Targeting innocent Kashmiri traders and forcing them out of cities only deepens alienation and mistrust, and damages the very idea of India. Communal hatred must not be allowed to grow unchecked. Dozens of Kashmiri shawl sellers, who have been working in Himachal Pradesh for over 25- 30 years, are now being harassed, assaulted, and threatened to leave the state in the Ghumarwin area of Bilaspur district by right-wing groups. This is the 17th such incident occurred in Himachal Pradesh this year. They have been threatened and told to leave the state, not allowed to sell their shawls, their belongings have been vandalised, and even their mobile phones were smashed when they tried to record these incidents. Despite having proper verification and valid documents, they are being prevented from carrying out their business, and their landlords are being pressured to evict them. These shawl sellers have contributed immensely to the local economy and have become an integral part of the social fabric over the decades. Yet today, they are facing intimidation, insecurity, and fear. This reflects a dangerous and disturbing pattern of targeting Kashmiri traders. Targeted harassment and violence against Kashmiris show no signs of ending. It is deeply saddening that some people want Kashmir, but not Kashmiris. Nothing will damage the idea of India in Kashmir more than such incidents. We urge the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi Ji; and the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Ji, to intervene immediately. This atmosphere of hatred and threats has the potential to destroy livelihoods built over generations. We further urge the HCM, to take immediate and decisive action by directing the authorities to register cases against the fringe and right-wing elements involved under the relevant provisions of law. Strict action will send a strong message that communal bigotry has no place in a progressive and inclusive society. We appeal to the HM Amit Shah Ji, to put an end to this growing reign of terror against Kashmiri traders and ensure the prompt identification and arrest of those responsible, so that a clear deterrent is set. The rule of law must prevail, and the safety, dignity, and right to livelihood of Kashmiri shawl sellers must be protected without delay. The Himachal Pradesh government has taken note of the communal harassment of two Kashmiri shawl sellers in Surjanpur Village, in Kangra District. The woman involved has been detained and is currently being questioned by the authorities. She has expressed deep regret for her actions and issued a formal apology. While the police were fully prepared to file an FIR, the victims (Kashmiri Shawl Sellers), in a remarkable gesture of forgiveness, has chosen to pardon her and requested the police not to proceed with lodging the FIR. May better sense prevail, and may peace and harmony continue to guide our paths forward. I thank Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu Ji and his Media Advisor Naresh Chauhan Ji for the Personal intervention. Strongly condemn the brutal mob assault on Jammu & Kashmir student Aftaab Hussain, of Dr. Harisingh Gour University (DHSGSU), by Bajrang Dal, VHP & Hindu Jagran Manch in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Shockingly, instead of being protected, he was taken into police custody despite a clean academic record and no unlawful background. Request. Madhya Pradesh Police to ensure his immediate release, safety, medical care, and strict action against the culprits. It is the constitutional duty of the state to protect students, not criminalise victims. Navratri is a sacred festival of devotion and inclusivity, symbolising the victory of good over evil. Its sanctity must be respected. Yet fringe and right-wing groups are weaponising religion to vilify Kashmiri Muslim students and communalise Garba; a cultural celebration meant to unite, not divide. False, defamatory, and concocted remarks have been made against Aftaab by these right wing elements, portraying him with malicious intent without any evidence. The reality is that he had been invited to the event by his friends. Targeted violence against Kashmiri youth is unacceptable, unconstitutional, and a grave threat to India’s unity and social harmony. Festivals like Garba embody India’s diversity, bringing people together beyond religion, caste, or region. By injecting hate and fear, organisations like Bajrang Dal, VHP, and Hindu Jagran Manch are not protecting tradition; they are poisoning it for political mileage. Such a dangerous precedent will only instil fear among Kashmiri youth who are engaging positively with local culture. This alarming trend must be rejected in the strongest possible terms. Three separate incidents of harassment against Kashmiri shawl and walnut sellers have occurred within a span of just 24 hours; one in Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand), another in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), and a third in Ludhiana (Punjab). In Uttarkashi, a local right-wing activist named Rakesh levelled unsubstantiated allegations against Kashmiri street vendors, accusing them of operating without police verification. He made several inflammatory claims, demanding compulsory police checks for all Kashmiri vendors and even insinuating; without any evidence whatsoever; that they could be involved in activities beyond selling shawls, including arms-related suspicions. Such irresponsible rhetoric fuels mistrust, deepens prejudice, and puts the lives and livelihoods of ordinary workers; who have been living and working peacefully for years at grave risk. In Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, two Kashmiri youths were confronted by members of Bajrang Dal; subsequently, the police detained them, interrogated them, and seized their Aadhaar cards, identity documents, and mobile phones for verification. This incident raises serious concerns about rampant vigilantism, profiling of minorities, and the troubling trend of right wing groups taking on law-enforcement roles. In Ludhiana, Punjab, a labourer from Kulgam, Kashmir, was allegedly assaulted after he reported that several boxes of walnuts he was transporting had gone missing. Instead of receiving help, he was met with violence. These incidents reflect a deeply troubling pattern of dehumanisation and targeted harassment. We urge the Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, and Punjab Bhagwant Mann to take immediate and decisive action. They must ensure the safety and dignity of Kashmiri workers, order impartial inquiries into these incidents, hold those responsible accountable; and direct the administration to put an end to all forms of discriminatory conduct. Preventive steps must be taken to stop any actions or rhetoric that could further fuel mistrust, vigilantism, or communal tension. Protecting vulnerable workers is not just a matter of governance; it is a test of our collective humanity and commitment to the idea of India. Narendra Modi Rahul Gandhi Kaushal K. An elderly Kashmiri Muslim man, Mohd Wali Shah from Anantnag Kashmir, who was in Saharanpur Uttar Pradesh for medical purposes, was questioned, mistreated, and threatened by local goons. This incident marks the eighth such case reported this year, reflecting a deeply alarming and recurring pattern. The accused, Yashasvi Arya, a resident of Village Ramdaspur (also known as Nagal, Badheri Koli), Saharanpur, who claims to be the National President of the Hindu Yuva Shakti Sangathan, along with his associates, has been filmed intercepting, intimidating, and harassing Kashmiri Muslim vendors and patients visiting the area. In the second video footage, Arya is seen using abusive and violent language, issuing open threats, and deliberately attempting to instil fear among Kashmiri Muslims. In a second video, he is heard stating, We will treat Kashmiri Muslims the way Kashmiri Pandits were treated, while making sweeping and deeply offensive claims that all Kashmiris; whether doctors or otherwise; only know how to make bombs and carry weapons. He further urged members of the Hindu community not to allow Kashmiris into their homes. These statements and actions clearly amount to hate speech, criminal intimidation, and a calculated attempt to incite communal hatred, posing a serious threat to public order, national unity, and the constitutional rights of citizens. Targeting a senior citizen seeking medical care highlights the extreme cruelty, moral bankruptcy, and lawlessness underlying these acts. Such incidents point to a systematic and deliberate effort to deny Kashmiri Muslims their right to livelihood, dignity, and free movement through fear and coercion. We appeal to the Saharanpur Police, DIG RANGE SAHARANPUR; to ensure the prompt identification and arrest of all those responsible and to send a clear and unequivocal message that lawlessness and communal intimidation will not be tolerated. We also urge CM Office, GoUP to take immediate cognisance of the matter, direct the registration of an FIR under stringent legal provisions relating to hate speech, criminal threats, and acts prejudicial to communal harmony, and ensure the swift arrest of the accused to prevent further escalation. Around 1,300 Kashmiri students are currently studying in Iran and are now stranded amid the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. The situation has left them traumatized, terrified, and extremely vulnerable. Parents are deeply distressed and anxious about the safety and well-being of their children. Many students are living under constant psychological stress and insecurity. They have reported hearing airstrike sirens, experiencing tremors, and witnessing heightened military activity in their areas. Some are even residing in cities where airstrikes have already taken place. The repeated attacks and worsening crisis have left the students frightened and helpless. Many of them have shared their fear, saying, "We are very scared. Our parents back home are extremely worried." Every passing minute without information from authorities is agonizing for these families. Parents have pointed out that students from several other countries have already been evacuated, while Indian students continue to wait anxiously. One parent said, "People from many countries have left, but our children remain. Nobody is asking about us. We feel abandoned." I earnestly request the Hon’ble External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to take urgent steps to relocate the students to safer areas within Iran and initiate immediate evacuation efforts. This will provide much-needed relief and assurance to the distressed families back home. Rahul Gandhi Kaushal K.
