@BigTicket73 Wishing for a speedy recovery, but not really seeing the issue here. A 4th string RB suffered an injury while in the off-season working out. Sent him for surgery and paid for it…should they have just cut him and have him fail his physical for other clubs?

I remember when I was young, around 10-11 years old. My parents were both asleep as was my brother. I heard a knock on the back door which was weird because who uses the back door at a stranger’s house? The kitchen window was close by so I take a look. It looked like a teenager but hard to tell because they had a hoodie with the hood up. I didn’t open the door but I did crack the window and asked them what they wanted. They replied they were lost and wanted to come in to warm up and use the phone. Even when it’s daylight I know never to let anybody in period that I didn’t know, but a stranger after midnight was weird enough. I said no because I didn’t know them. Then they said that hey knew my dad and that’s why he came by. I said that’s fine and all but I’m not letting you use our phone. This was before cellphones were widely used, we had a landline like most people. The person wouldn’t take no for an answer and I could sense he was getting angry. I went and woke up my dad, I told him there was somebody at the back door and that he said they knew him. He walked to the door and looked out and said he didn’t know him. But he did talk through the door and told him that he was calling the police and that he should just leave. The person just stood there until the police finally came and even they asked him what he was doing knocking on the door at that hour. He told them he was lost and thought this was a house of a family friend. The police told him my dad didn’t know him and made him leave. So was this a case of wrong house or was he up to something. This man was criticized for expecting a “thank you” for a good deed. He always saw the same man walking when he drove to work. He assumed the man was walking because he did not have any other means of transportation. He used his own money and bought the man an electric scooter, the man took the scooter and just silently walked away, no thank you or anything else at all. I don’t think that was too much to ask, a thank you goes a long way, otherwise it makes people look ungrateful. Back in college, I had a classmate that I always saw walking home after class. It didn’t matter whether it was raining or snowing, or hot out. Whenever I drove past him he always looked miserable and I could tell he didn’t like to walk all the time. In class I had asked him where he lived, and I found out it was on my way home so I offered to drop him off because it was really cold out and had snowed about a foot. He agreed and we chatted on the way home, nothing serious just pleasant conversation. I dropped him off and went on my way home. For me this was a one time thing, I only offered because how bad it was snowing. After class the next day, he walked with me and when I got to my car he got in. I didn’t agree or offer him a ride that day but he assumed that since I was ok with giving him a ride the day prior that I would be ok with it this day too. I didn’t say anything about it because at this point I didn’t care really. So the next day came and went, once again he walked with me to the car but that day was different. I wouldn’t be going his way because I had to work after class. So before I got to the car I said “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He looked dumbfounded and said aren’t you taking me home? I said no, I have to get to work. He then asked me how he would get home, and I told him the same way you always have. He then gave me excuses for why I was being a jerk because I was making him walk in the cold. I didn’t argue I just told him I helped him out when I could, but I wasn’t about to go out of my way because he didn’t have a car and besides I didn’t want to be late for work. He didn’t speak to me for the rest of the semester because of it, something tells me I was better off not offering to help in the first place.

I didn’t have enough money today to afford that on top of everything else, and I told him to come back in a week. A few minutes ago, I heard a loud noise outside of my house. I opened the door and noticed that he was cutting my grass. I went running out to him and yelled for him to stop... he shook his head no. He told me that he saw my kids playing in the yard and was worried about snakes being in the grass and biting them because the grass was too tall. I again told him to stop because I couldn’t pay him. This umpire gave this kid and his team two warnings for throwing the bat at the catcher. He told them if it happened again they were going to get ejected from the game. Well….it happened again. The batter hit the ball back to the pitcher and the pitcher overthrew first base. But, the umpire called a dead ball and called the batter out and ejected him from the game. The coach came out to argue and said the batter didn’t throw the bat, that it was a regular follow through on the back swing. He told the umpire they had it on film. The umpire said he had it on film too. Then the third base coach came down to argue and the umpire told the coach he was wrong and that he had it on video. You can hear the parents screaming at him. Some people said that was a terrible call and he let go legally on the follow through. You can also hear them tell the umpire that he had it out for that kid. 🤯 But a lot of people sided with the ump and said he handled it well and with that many warnings that it was a fantastic call. 💯 The umpire gave the same kid two prior warnings. Even if it wasn’t intentional, there has to be consequences after a third time. He could seriously injure the catcher. This will help the batter in the future hopefully. What do you think? Was this the right or wrong call?

Besides the neighbor hitting my mailbox. I have had one of the neighbors down the street hit my house with a drone. The neighbor got a new drone as a gift and they were flying it around the neighborhood. I think they may have had interference or went out of range because it flew right into the side of the house and dented the siding. Being high up it wasn’t that noticeable but I knew it was there. Unlike this young lady who ran off the road and went over 100 ft after she destroyed this man’s fence. Regardless of her excuses I think she’s liable no matter how many claims she made saying it was the car’s fault, like it was a malfunction. Either way she needs to pay for the damages. I doubt the homeowner is going to go after the car manufacturer because she lost control of the car, wouldn’t you agree, He came by asking if I saw the drone and I told him I had it but k also showed him where he hit and that he needs to pay to fix it. He said it wasn’t a problem because he has a handyman that could fix it for me easy. I told him I didn’t want a handyman doing it I want the company I used to hire it to do it that way they could replace it with the same materials. He refused saying it wasn’t a big deal and only one piece of siding. I told him that’s not how it works because since he damaged it, I have a say in how it’s repaired, I was not having anybody go to Home Depot and get a cheaper piece of siding to fix it, there wasn’t any guarantee it would last and I didn’t want any issues later. Working at the pizza place I’ve had some weird requests. Like this man here who didn’t have a stove and took some eggs to McDonald’s and asked them to cook it for him which surprisingly they did. He did pay her very well for the favor. I had a man come in who claimed that his electric was off because of the storm and he was in the middle of cooking a lasagna. He wrapped it up and brought it in and asked if I could cook it for him after he explained the circumstances. At first I was thinking I shouldn’t do it, I remember hearing it was against health code but I was in a good mood and many people did lose power so I decided to do it. I even added a little extra cheese on top and through in some garlic bread for free. The man knows I didn’t have to help him and most places wouldn’t but was gracious I did. I ended up gaining a long time customer with that gesture. I remember he came in one time to pick up a pizza and I ran out of cigarettes. I offered him money to run across the street for me to get some smokes. He said he would but he wouldn’t take my money saying he owed me a favor anyways.

A player at a casino was accused of being too good and kept winning, they forced him to return all of his chips and cashed him out and told him to leave, there were whispers that they thought he was card counting. I never been to any place where they forced you to do a return and sent you on your way. But I have heard of retail places doing that. When the customer tries to argue at the register they are like you know what, here take your money back and leave. Back when the PS5 came out I was desperate to get one for my kid too, I was searching online for those obscure local stores that had them. I found one in Rochester, NY. I placed the order and got a confirmation and a notification from my bank saying an amount was taken out by them. So I figured they had it and it was fine. A week later after I didn’t get it, I called and he said yes he still had it but he’s been busy and will ship it out asap. I was like ok cool, so another week went by and I called him again and asked what the hold up was. This time around the guy was quite nasty and told me I needed to be patient because he was dealing with some stuff. He then said “you are acting like you don’t want it!” Which was weird because if I didn’t want it I wouldn’t be checking on why I didn’t get it yet. Next day I wake up to a notification from my bank saying the amount taken was credited back to my account and it showed the retailers name. He cancelled my order and refunded my money. So I called again and he said I was harassing him and he rather not sell to people like me. At that point I was furious but what could I do. I was thinking maybe he didn’t have it all along, maybe he only listed it as a means of bringing attention to his store in hopes people browse and buy other items too. Either way the idea of a place of business saying they don’t want my business and giving me my money back and refusing service is ridiculous to me.

Wallahi, I met a genuinely honest man today around Kabuga Junction, Kano. He was hawking these toy cars when I stopped to buy one. He told me it was ₦2,500, but I negotiated it down to ₦2,000, and he agreed. By mistake, I gave him ₦3,000 instead of ₦2,000. I didn’t even realize it at the time. My wife noticed after we had already moved on, and I told her to leave it. But the man himself later realized that I had overpaid him, and he actually rushed back to meet us just to tell me. I told him, “No problem, keep it. It’s yours.” But honestly, the fact that he came back even when he could have easily kept the money really touched me. It may be just ₦1,000, but honesty like this deserves to be appreciated. If you see him hawking these toys around Kabuga Junction, along the road towards Rijiyar Zaki/Kofar Fompo, please support him.
