"How do you allow the criminal to lead the investigation?" Karen, Katie and Mike Rude give us the latest update from Universal Ostrich Farms. There is a growing concern that the number of birds here is far lower than it should be and the family has been desperately trying to get a head count. Mike has been collecting evidence which was given to our RCMP this morning. The RCMP confirmed that they have begun and investigation and that is ongoing. Now we're hearing that the people informing RCMP for their investigation are the very ones that should be being investigated! The lack of transparency here is appalling. CFIA should have a headcount at all times in sharing this information would go a long way to easing the family's concerns. If CFIA won't do the right thing, I implore the RCMP to investigate this properly and do their job as police.

OP BINWATCHING is underway. There has been serious, and I believe credible, concern raised here at Universal Ostrich Farms that the number of birds here is low and possibly dropping. Sgt. Mike Rude (retired) has been collecting evidence and has provided that to the RCMP along with a sworn affidavit. The RCMP have confirmed that they have begun and investigation and that it is ongoing. However, they have also stated to the family that they do not plan to do an independent headcount and will rely on CFIA for information. We know for certain that one ostrich has already died here while under the "care" of CFIA and under the "protection" of the RCMP. A simple headcount could clear this up and relieve a lot of stress on the family and the public following this story. I don't know if there are birds missing yet, but many people do and the evidence I've seen from Mike and with my own eyes makes me inclined to think something is off. If there are birds missing, we are going to do our best to prove it and if there isn't, that would be the best outcome. More to come.

Developing issue at the ostrich farm. Cfia inform the family that there is a bird that's not drinking and they suspect it's dehydrated. Dave came to the police line with the farm vet with a bag of electrolytes to give the bird. The RCMP were told by cfia not to let them in. Since the farm vet is retired, she's been denied access by cfia. All right be there. I'm about to let you back. Unacceptable to say the least. Especially when cfia claims they gave the bird electrolytes but nobody can verify it because they're hiding from everybody.

UPDATE from Universal Ostrich Farms: Mike and I took FOB SMITH to the RCMP command post. There is a lot of fencing and a lot of bins there today but far less vehicles and police than usual. There is still no official ostrich count and no indication that CFIA or RCMP will be doing one. Mike and I are continuing to gather evidence, we are looking for the truth. There is zero transparency here and a lot of things in place that make it appear there is something to hide. CFIA or the RCMP could easily put many of these questions to rest with a count of the birds and a sliver of transparency.

Universal Ostrich Farms Update - 12 November, 2025 Days after the mass slaughter most of the CFIA agents and their RCMP paramilitary protection force have left the farm. A skeleton crew remains as fences are torn down and allegedly contaminated hay from the killing fields is dragged all over the yard and driven out onto the highway. Once the CFIA and RCMP leave the farm there will be a lot of work to do to document what's left behind for the family and supporters to begin picking up to pieces of their shattered lives. This story is far from over... Stay tuned.

Flatbeds and trucks have been seen in the area and we suspect they will be used to collect the fencing around the property. People, including myself, are still dealing with the trauma from what happened here. I think I'm mostly out of shock and exhaustion and emotion are setting in. There's still a lot to do here. There will be a lot of work to do once the CFIA and RCMP clear out, I will update as things progress.

This woman’s neighbors always leaves their trash and empty boxes in front of her door. They have never said why they do that nor have they ever responded to her requests to stop doing it. This has been going on since she’s moved in and it’s been months now. This is Canada's national police force, the RCMP. They are working as a paramilitary protection force for unelected bureaucrats at the CFIA. They have been occupying and destroying another family's property adjacent to Universal Ostrich Farms and they have been terrorizing the family while they do it. The next door neighbor notices this and decides to just mow it himself to help them out, he really has no other motive to do this. The woman is offended and feels like he has no right to come on her property even if he is helping them out. Is she petty for complaining about someone helping them out or is the man in the wrong here for not wanting to see their unsightly mess?
