The Niceaunties AI Video Grant At Fellowship, we believe in creating an environment for experimentation and the development of ideas. That is why, when niceaunties proposed a grant program for mentorship and the creation of AI videos, we immediately said yes. The program will help support six artists, to create a Solo Show for the Fellowship Daily program. The commitment is to produce 8 new videos based on a theme proposed by Niceaunties. This will be an open call for all the Daily Artists and the AI video community at large. Everyone is welcome to reply/submit a video for consideration. Each grantee will receive a total of 2ETH provided by Niceaunties and Fellowship, as well as mentorship from Niceaunties and alejandro cartagena. We encourage artists applying to consider this grant as a space of critical feedback and of experimentation. Marcel Proust, writing in Paris around this time, observed that the ideas of our surroundings stamp a whole generation with a certain cast of mind. "The influence we ascribe to environment is particularly true of an intellectual environment," he wrote. "Each of us is conditioned by an idea. There are far fewer ideas than men, therefore, all men with similar ideas are alike." How different were the ideas that animated 1920s Paris, and those that drive the 2020s on Earth? And in what ways are those ideas making life today happier—and worse?

Meeting Christopher Awdry, the son of the creator of Thomas, when recording the 80th anniversary podcast was such a highlight. The first stories were written for him, which years later, becomes more special as time goes on. I was a little nervous for this interview particularly, but almost immediately as myself and Ian met him, he made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. I felt an immense responsibility to ask questions that would be a) interesting for him but b) be interesting as well as informing for the listener and by extension the Thomas fandom. I hope my questions and Christopher's answers satisfied those who have been wanting to hear what he has to say about Thomas & Friends for some time. Jeff Bezos explains the “releasing the work” framework he used to build Amazon In the early days of Amazon, Jeff Bezos had too many ideas. Then Jeff Wilke, a new Amazon executive at the time, told his boss, “Jeff, you have enough ideas to destroy Amazon.” “This was just a shocking idea for me,” Bezos recalls. “As a founder, I had the great luxury of always being able to hire my tutors. I would hire these experienced, senior executives . . . And I would listen to them and they would teach me.” When Bezos asked Wilke what he meant by this, Wilke responded, “You have to release the work at the right rate so that the organization can accept it.” Bezos reflects on this point: “Every time I released an idea, I was creating a backlog of work in process. And because it was just stacking up, it was adding no value. In fact, it was creating distraction . . . This sounds so obvious, but it was not obvious to me at the time. And this was a profound insight for me. So I started prioritizing the ideas better, keeping lists of them, and keeping ideas to myself until the organization was ready for the ideas.” He continues: “I also started figuring out how to build an organization that can be ready for more ideas. That’s about having the right senior team and leadership and giving those people the executive bandwidth so they could do more ideas per unit of time. And that is what we built. We tried an experiment once at YC where we funded 20 teams of strong founders who didn't have ideas but were otherwise really good. They all failed. And what we learned is that the good founders are the people who have ideas all the time. There's an intelligence component to this, a creativity component, an ability to think independent thoughts. But whatever you want to call it, this particular kind of intelligence that leads to seeing problems in different ways and thinking of ideas that don't yet exist but should, you've got to have that in a founder."

Pakistan’s role in freedom struggle of Morocco 🇲🇦 In 1952 when Morocco was under French rule and they were fighting for their independence, Sultan Mohammed V of Morocco sent Ahmed Balafrej to US to address UN Security Council. However, French delegates did not allow him to speak saying that because Morocco was a French protectorate therefore, Ahmed Bulferg being subject of France can’t speak at the UN forum. At this humiliation of Ahmed Balafrej by the French, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Zafar Ullah Khan immediately got Pakistani embassy at New York opened at night and offered Ahmed Balafrej Pakistani nationality and issued him Pakistani Passport, due which on the next day he was able to address the UN Security council as Pakistani citizen in favour of Morocco. This gave great boost to the Moroccan independence movement internationally and back at home. Finally when Morocco became independent in 1956, the Sultan Mohammed appointed Ahmed Balafrej as Prime Minister of Morocco and he used to hang his framed Pakistani Passport in his office and used to proudly tell all the visitors the role that passport played in the independence of Morocco.

Paul Graham’s advice for future startup founders: “Just learn” “If you make a conscious effort to try and think of startup ideas, you will think of ideas that are not only bad but bad and plausible-sounding—meaning you and everybody else will be fooled by them and you’ll waste a lot of time before realizing they’re no good.” As Paul Graham explains, the way to come up with good startup ideas is to take a step back: “Instead of trying to make a conscious effort to think of startup ideas, turn your brain into the type that has startup ideas unconsciously.” You do this by: 1. Learning a lot about things that matter 2. Working on problems that interest you 3. With people you like and respect (this is incidentally how you get co-founders at the same time as the idea) “The component of entrepreneurship that really matters is domain expertise.
