Eventually for the money we chase and the survival we seek, by going far far away from home due to no fault of our own, we all eventually pay back in a price far higher than money can give. To you who has missed the birth of your child, the burial of a loved one, the graduation of a sibling, the hugs of your family, because you were far away… To everyone who has had to go far away from home, or who has had loved ones who have had to go far away from home, this one is for you…$

Standing on what we believe could be the very tip of Noah’s Ark, you can see the entire formation stretching out below, with Mount Ararat rising in the distance. And now, for the first time, we’re going beneath the surface. The core drilling operation is collecting samples from meters below the formation. Each core brings up actual material from inside the ground, which can be sent to laboratories for detailed analysis. For decades, the debate has centered on what Durupınar actually is. This is not the only vision for what it looks like to have politics in this country—that is so divorced from the needs and wants of everyday people. And what we are looking to show in New York City is an alternative to what has led so many to become disenchanted with the political process. We want to show that not only can government work, but it must, and that at its core, our responsibility is to working people—to ensure that we’re doing everything to make their lives easier. For months, local people have protested, filmed, questioned and exposed what has been happening in our town. So is this reduction a coincidence? Or has the pressure finally started to work? And with Operation Vanguard now launching, I think another question needs asking: Are numbers being reduced so that, in a few weeks' time, people can claim these patrols were never needed? We cannot prove that is the reason but we can certainly question it. Because we remember what we were seeing before. The buses. Either way our streets can feel that bit safer now for locals.
