For the last six months, huge blasting operations are being carried out day and night within just 50 metres from the residential area of Durganagar village, Payakaraopet, causing severe damage to houses, sleepless nights for villagers, and grave health risks. Despite repeated written representations by the affected residents to the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO), District Collector, Local MLA, Minister, and even the State Secretariat, no preventive or corrective action has been taken till date. This ongoing blasting is a clear violation of several laws and safety codes in force in Andhra Pradesh and India, including: Violations of Law: 1. IS 4081:1986 – Safety Code for Blasting and Related Drilling Operations (BIS Standard) Clause 6.3 clearly prohibits blasting within 500 metres of any residential or public building without special permission from competent authority. ➤ Blasting at 50 metres is a serious breach of this mandatory safety distance. 2. The Explosives Rules, 2008 (Rules 113 & 114) Require strict control of blasting distance, timing, and storage of explosives. ➤ Unauthorized or unsafe blasting constitutes a punishable offence under these rules. 3. The Mines Act, 1952 and Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961 Mandate that mining and blasting activities must not endanger the safety of nearby inhabitants. 4. Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 & Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981: Continuous blasting without environmental clearance and pollution control measures is a violation of environmental law and pollution control norms. My Demands on behalf of Durganagar (Payakaraopet) village people 1. Immediate suspension of all blasting activities within 500 metres of residential areas in Durganagar village. 2. Enquiry by the District Collector and Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB). 3. ✅ 1 litre of ethanol can create around 8 to 15 litres of spent wash, a dark and highly polluting wastewater from distilleries. ✅ Even when factories claim Zero Liquid Discharge, the question remains: what happens to sludge, ash, concentrated waste, boiler emissions and groundwater impact? ✅ India is moving from around 1,000 crore litres of ethanol demand towards nearly 1,500 crore litres of production capacity, but are our pollution-control systems ready for that scale? ✅ The Meghalaya Byrnihat case raises a serious question because this area is already known as a major pollution hotspot, yet more industrial load is being added. ✅ Ethanol may reduce oil imports and some emissions, but if production pollutes water, air and soil, then we are only shifting pollution from cities to industrial towns and villages. ✅ India needs energy security, but not at the cost of water security, clean air and public health. ✅ The real future should be balanced: ethanol as a transition fuel, but stronger focus on EVs, green hydrogen, renewable energy and cleaner public transport. For the past 4 years, this area has effectively been a dust bowl during construction. The service road was completely broken thanks to plying of heavy construction vehicles - it has only recently become somewhat motorable, but air quality around the site remains severely impacted. Sandy Fire Air Monitoring Update - Due to the Sandy Fire’s proximity to the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL), hazardous materials and radiological monitoring teams continue proactive air quality and radiation monitoring operations around the fire area. Currently, seven air sampling radiological monitoring locations have been established surrounding the incident, including the Chatsworth, Lake Manor, Bell Canyon, Oak Park, and Simi Valley areas. These monitoring systems are being used to establish background environmental conditions and to continuously evaluate smoke and air quality conditions as firefighting operations continue. The Sandy Fire has NOT reached the Santa Susana Field Laboratory property, and there is currently no indication that any radiological material has been released from the site. The attached drone video shows the current fire perimeter in relation to the SSFL area. Public health and environmental agencies, including Ventura County Public Health, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Ventura County Air Pollution Control District, and the U.S. Department of Energy, remain actively engaged in monitoring conditions and supporting incident operations. The U.S. Department of Energy is supporting air monitoring operations around the SSFL out of an abundance of caution. Radiation measurements collected as recently as 2025, along with modeling conducted following the 2018 Woolsey Fire, continue to indicate that the extremely low levels of residual radioactive material at the site pose no risk to public health, even in the event wildfire activity reaches the area. The SSFL is located in an area historically prone to wildfires, including the 2018 Woolsey Fire. Following that fire, air, soil, and ash sampling conducted by DTSC did not detect the release of chemical or radiological contaminants from the site. Additionally, radiological assessments conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health found no discernible levels of radiation in tested areas surrounding the site. Residents can continue monitoring local smoke and air quality conditions using the AirNow Fire and Smoke Map: About the video: The background map shows the drone location as a circle with a blue arrow. The blue line shows the flight path of the drone, while the moving polygon represents the area the drone camera is viewing. Today Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan garu participated in the Workshop on Source Sustainability of Surface & Ground Water Sources at A.P. State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj (AP SIRD&PR), Kanuru, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that water is the foundation of life, livelihoods, and future development, and underscored the need to move beyond availability towards ensuring sustainability and quality. He highlighted the challenges of groundwater depletion, contamination, and declining surface sources, and called for scientific planning, evidence-based source identification, and adoption of modern technologies. He further stressed the importance of groundwater recharge, rainwater harvesting, aquifer management, and strong community participation to achieve long-term water security under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0. He also conveyed his gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Hon’ble Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri C R Paatil ji, and Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu garu for their continued guidance and support in strengthening sustainable water management initiatives. Making the Invisible Visible: A Walk for Clean Air This morning, at the invitation of Public Square, I had the honor of using the WalkTalkConnect platform to highlight a cause that touches every breath we take — clean air. I walked with Eng.Tabaro and Ruth, two young professionals passionately advocating for clean air and climate justice. We used a small AirCasting monitor to track real-time PM2.5 pollution levels along our route through Kampala Central Division. The results were sobering: much of the air we breathed was classified as “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.” What does that mean in real terms? It means that children, the elderly, and people with respiratory conditions are at risk—just by walking through their own city. This is a serious health risk. “Why does this matter?”, you ask…. Because what we can’t see can hurt us. Fine particle pollution comes from vehicles, open burning, construction dust, and industrial emissions. These tiny particles get deep into our lungs and bloodstream, increasing the risk of asthma, heart disease, strokes, and even cancer. It’s a silent health crisis hiding in plain sight. As a country, we need to enact national air quality legislation, invest in clean public transport, regulate industrial emissions, and increase green spaces in our cities. Clean air is not a luxury. But look at the data of other states. In UP, stubble-burning incidents have gone up by 60% compared to last year. Last year 1533 farm fears occurred and this year it increased to 1926. Stubble burning is happening in Rajasthan. In 2020, around 430 incidents of stubble burning occurred and by 2024, it went up to 1926. The highest number of stubble-burning incidents in the country is taking place in Madhya Pradesh. Centre's own data says that from 15th September to 17th November, 9,600 incidents of stubble burning have occurred in Madhya Pradesh...When Punjab Government can bring down the incidents of stubble burning by 80%, why are such incidents rising in other states?"

In 2009-10, around 24,000 girls from tribal communities in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat were given a HPV vaccine by an NGO called PATH who had multiple donors including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is active in India in many other development and health initiatives with partnership with State and Central government including Public health and disease control, nutrition and sanitation, agricultural and technology. Bill Gates who is accused of meeting Epstein several times in the Epstein files scandal is warmly welcomed in India with both BJP and Congress linked ministers. In a podcast to Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates said “India is an example of country where the health, nutrition, education is improving. They are stable enough and that it’s a kind of a laboratory to try things that, when you prove them out in India, you can take other places.” This remark was strongly criticised online, some also argued that by the term “laboratory” he meant that the challenges health sector has to face and not that Indians are being treated as Guinea pigs. In 2012, the World Health Organisation warned about the potentially carcinogenic properties of endocrine disrupters and concluded that they pose a global threat to public health. The European Food Safety Authority has massively reduced by 1,000 times the dietary intake of bisphenol A to one hundred millionth of a gram per kilogram of body weight per day. All this is public record information which the wind industry must know. The leading edges of turbine blades shed fine dust and blade edges only have a 5-year guarantee. Each blade sheds a minimum of 0.2 to 2.5 grams of bisphenol A in dust per year. This dust is spread wide and far by wind. If one gram of bisphenol A gets into dam waters, 10 million litres of water are rendered unusable. Recorded this today around 7 pm (19/05/2026) in and around Sector 50 & Nirvana Country, Gurugram, extending toward Sector 65. After noticing very poor air conditions, I drove roughly 1.5 km through the area for a wider check. What I saw on ground is hard to process. The worst conditions were concentrated around Sector 65, blanketed in dust - multiple active construction sites and large projects with effectively zero dust control measures. Along with this, broken and unpaved stretches and constant movement of vehicles over loose soil are creating continuous dust clouds. In several areas visibility dropped so badly that cars were using fog lights in broad daylight. Respected Commission for Air Quality Management ,Central Pollution Control Board and HSPCB GURUGRAM NORTH kindly note this is not normal dust or routine construction impact. It is uncontrolled dust pollution in a densely populated residential belt. The dust clouds are enveloping our areas. Neither the project proponents nor the public land-owning / road maintenance authorities appear to be making any effort to contain this massive dust generation, nor are they complying with basic construction dust containment guidelines (NGT norms). This is especially severe around Sector 65, directly impacting facing sectors like 49,50,51, 64, 67 and also worsened by dug-up stretches along GCER, turning the entire belt into a continuous dust zone. This is directly affecting residents and school-going children along these roads. 7 prominent schools in and around these sectors ! With GRAP Stage 1 now imposed by the Commission for Air Quality Management, enforcement is supposed to be stricter. But what is visible on ground is clear non-compliance. This needs immediate inspection and strict enforcement. Stop Work Where Norms Are Being Violated . Public Health Agency of Canada releases first report on psychological manipulation of citizens🩺🇨🇦 Under Chief Medical Officer Theresa Tam, the Public Health Agency of Canada has launched a behavioural science office and released a report on persuasion tactics for compliance, raising ethical concerns about transparency in how taxpayer money is used to influence public behaviour. Canada’s public health agency (Health Canada and PHAC) has established a behavioural science office (BeSciO) and has recently released its first report detailing its persuasion of public compliance under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer of Canada, Theresa Tam (Canada's CPHO). Tam, who also serves on various World Health Organization committees, has been heavily scrutinized for this conflict of interest in recent years. The report starts with a land acknowledgment and outlines the Public Health Agency of Canada’s progress in establishing BeSciO from April 2021 to March 2023. Launched in Spring 2021, BeSciO emphasizes the importance of human behaviour in public health and supported the government's pandemic response with critical advice and evidence. The report defines behavioural science (BeSci) as a multidisciplinary field that studies human behaviour and decision-making by integrating psychology, neuroscience, and social sciences. It emphasizes the importance of understanding psychological, sociocultural, and systemic factors that influence decision-making, enabling practitioners to create effective solutions that impact behaviour-based outcomes. It’s noted in the report that BeSciO has “joined forces with the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer, the World Health Organization, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the Behavioural Insights Team, to name only a few.” As such, it’s important for the public to be prepared for the “crazy ideas” coming down the pike, as stated by WHO director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus (Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus) during a strategic roundtable on behavioural science for better health in 2022. Tam confirms collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), utilizing their behavioural insights tool to monitor compliance with public health measures. The new unit says it is “indebted to the incredible staff of BeSciO, as well as PHAC’s Data, Surveillance and Foresight Branch (formerly Corporate Data and Surveillance Branch).” The report is signed by Heather Devine (Heather Devine 🇨🇦) and Dhurata Ikonomi (Dhurata Ikonomi 🇨🇦), but the rest of the behavioural science team remains unclear. Notably, while partner Impact Canada lists its behavioural insight team, neither Devine nor Ikonomi are included, suggesting the government employs behavioural scientists in various, less transparent roles beyond public health. BeSciO was formed after a “needs assessment” was conducted in April 2021, and then Minister of Health Patty Hajdu, who is said to have “recognized the critical role of human behaviour in public health.” “Creating BeSciO introduced an innovation and experimentation function within the Branch to support PHAC's revitalization as a world-leading, data-driven public health organization,” it says. It would appear that one of their first tasks was the May 2021 memo titled “Testing Behaviourally-Informed Messaging In Response To Severe Adverse Events Following Immunization” where messaging and communication around COVID-19 vaccine injuries needed to be framed in a way that did not compromise the government's safe and effective marketing slogan. Faced with mounting distrust in public health after its grotesque failures in pandemic handling and response, in its first year, BeSciO aimed to address “priority areas such as vaccine confidence, public health measures, combatting mis/disinformation, borders measures, and public health communications to inform key pandemic response activities. In its second year, BeSciO expanded its focus to new areas that emerged as critical to PHAC’s mandate, including climate change and infectious disease, mental health, and antimicrobial resistance.” The new office highlights the growing global use of behavioural science to improve health outcomes by addressing human decision-making tendencies. It aims to predict responses to policies, identify barriers to health-promoting behaviours, design aligned programs, and evaluate interventions for better outcomes.
