U.S. Central Command says U.S. forces struck three Iranian crude oil tankers on Sept. 5 after the IRGC launched ballistic missiles toward two U.S. Navy warships operating in the region. CENTCOM said an aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer evaded multiple Iranian attacks without American casualties. The strikes disabled the... show more

This should have been done months ago when the blockade was started. It made no sense just to turn these ships around so that they could resume their operations in Iran's Shadow Fleet. If the IRGC wants to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz, we can certainly sink the ships that fuel their economy. This is a war and let's start treating it like one.

The oil spells from these attacks will end up in the bellies of the peopleneating from this sea.

Missiles missing a carrier group is not nothing, but it raises the question of what Iran does next now that direct fire didn't land.

CENTCOM's own commander confirmed this is not 1 for 1 deterrence. His words: the US will "impose an even higher economic cost," three tankers destroyed for two ships shot at, both of which evaded with zero damage and zero casualties. That is an escalating ratio by design, not a proportional response, exactly what will push oil past $100.

Just nuke them and rid the world of their terrorism

This is one of the clearest U.S. deterrence messages to Iran since the conflict began:

Why not destroy the tankers together with the crew given they are working for the IRGC?

Strike one of our carriers and we are gonna fuck lose our minds. Iran needs to stand down. It’s over.

so i don't get this. These oil tankers were traveling through the straight in disregard for the blockade? So this means plenty of Iran bount oil tankers where openly skirting the blockade and US was doing little to stop them.

So…. They attacked an unarmed tanker? Are you guys Somalis?

Those are attacks to completely destroy the tankers, not merely disable them

Im assuming two of the three tankers were empty? I've seen lots of vids like the first where we take out the engine but noting like the other two. What was used in those strikes? Looks like the blew out from the inside making the tanker a giant floating scrap heap.

WTI already up +.45 to 1.48, Brent +.27 to 6.02 on the week — risk premium pricing kinetic, not diplomatic. But Polymarket smart-money cluster just put 0.9K on 'No US invasion of Iran before 2027' (skill ~85.9). Signal: contained escalation, not regime change. =F =F

US wants to pollute the hormuz with oil spills now. Disgusting

Mm those anti ship missile strikes were sexy!

This is loss of contact with reality. Iran rejects any outside experience when trying to bomb U.S. facilities all over again. This could be mental illness, probably helpful to send the Mullahs some psychiatrists - like over FaceTime or Zoom.

So us are the terrorist now

You hit a war machine, we hit your civilian assets... I recall reading about things like that in WW2.. Germans did things like that.

They wouldn't be able to build any more missiles if they didn't have electricity. Why do they still have electricity?

Nothing to be proud of striking defenseless targets for an Israeli war! Israel dragged you into that war and left…suckers

FAFO

Sooner or later #iran will figure out FA/FO

And here I am drinking out of a paper straw to save the damn turtles

Well someone’s 250 million dollar bet on oil prices going up sure paid off . More market manipulation !

So they’re blowing these up with 0 care about the oil going into the water…. Why not just hit the bridges.

🤦🏻♂️ imagine the oil spill in that region!!

Bravo. Iran is crumbling. Trump is finally finishing the war that started in 1979.

More please. WAY MORE! Go team USA !!!

IRGC strikes against US linked ships in Hormuz

@ItWasACoup Shocked that this happened after the market closed on a 3 day weekend.

making them pay. irgc is finished in due time.

Well, this should be the big help with high gas prices we're all screaming for!
