The problem in Venezuela is the same as in many other countries - local politicians are willing to sell out their own nation to foreign powers just to seize power. Venezuela has María Corina and we have our own Corinas. Not long ago, during Yameen's time, opposition MDP leaders and followers openly invited India to intervene in the Maldives to topple a Gov. Nasheed even tweeted about it, and Abdulla Shahid ( foreign minister during MDP time ) said on Indian TV that he was 'disappointed' that he hadn't see any Indian presence on the ground. We were very fortunate that, despite having opposition leaders begging for it, India had no intention of invading Maldives to force a regime. Had they acted, it would have caused bloodshed and unrest that would have destroyed the country as we know it.
