🇵🇸 Mother hugs her son who was just released from Israeli prisons as part of the deal with Hamas. What concerns me though, are the chants in the background: “With our soul and our blood, we will redeem you, Hamas.” The war was meant to end Hamas. With 15,000 dead and 6,000 missing, the support for Hamas has arguably grown, at least in the West Bank. A political solution is needed urgently, which should include the demilitarization of Hamas, and a two-state solution. If this doesn't happen soon, I worry the problem will only get worse after this war is over.
