Just received the first SMT PCB of the Raspberry Pi RTL-SDR/LoRa/GPS/RTC Hat from JLCPCB, and everything works like a charm. I even implemented the GPS PPS indicator as Jeff Geerling suggested. I can think of some fun use cases with it, like using an RTL-SDR to listen in on emergency broadcasts, converting the audio to text, and broadcasting it over LoRa to a public Meshtastic or Meshcore channel. RLM is the most import foundation of my Pi Harness (other than Pi of course). It's seeded with late interaction retrieval results (thanks to @lightonai for pylate). The Agent initiates it with query then.. 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩 A python REPL is created and seeded with: 1. Late interaction search to pre-filter. Instead of doing top 3/5/10, it's top hundreds of documents. This is set into a `context` variable. 2. Python functions are loaded in to do more searches if `context` variable isn't enough. And to make llm calls with cheaper models in parallel batches. 𝐈𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐩 From there, an LLM iterates in the REPL based on the query. It's just like exploring in a jupyter notebook. The LLM writes prose (like a markdown cell) and code to be run in the REPL each turn. This allows the LLM to sort, filter, and synthesize information. It can fan out and ask smaller models to summarize, combine, contrast, or do anything else to documents to help it understand the data. After several turns the LLM reponds with the final answer. Either because it found the answer, or hit the budget limit. Context as a Python variable, LLM as the programmer, REPL as the runtime. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 1. Richer Shell. Agents (and subagents) work by intermixing code and prose/thinking. But they use static scripts or bash that run and exit and start over each tool call. That's not ideal for exploration and synthesis of data. For that, state is useful to continue building and exploring the data as you learn more. There's a reason jupyter notebooks have been popular with data scientists. 2. Keeps main agent context clean. The better context you have the better the agent will perform (duh!). This means three thing: better human input, less missing search results, and less incorrect search results. Letting the agent iterate allows it to synthesize just what is needed and nothing else. All bad paths or peeks at something that turns out to be irrelevant stays out of main agent context. 3. Stack the good ideas! People often compare late interaction search vs RLM. Or static vs dynamic languages. Or agentic search vs semantic search. But...You can just use them all together for what they're each good at. Use them all for the area they're really great for. Say hello to text-to-cad, an open source tool for generating 3D models in Codex! Prompt and edit complex 3D models. Export STEP, STL, GLB, DXF and URDF files. Built for CAD newbies. Link to github below. CAD is hard. As a software engineer getting back into robotics, I’ve been humbled by new tools like Onshape. Struggling to kick old habits, I started prompting Codex to generate 3D models and had some limited succes. After a few iterations I found a recipe that actually works: 1. Generate a python script for every STEP file. The agent can easily edit each part’s source without touching the raw STEP file. Use build123d > cadquery. 2. Reference specific faces and edges in prompts for precise edits. I built a basic local ui to inspect / cache STEP B-reps to make this easier. 3. Maintain markdown explaining important part features in plain English so the model can index on project context quickly. 4. Verify results with screenshots and geometry. Models don’t have great spatial awareness, but they can interpret images and verify constraints very well. For the best results I’ve been using GPT 5.4 xhigh / Opus 4.6+. Fair warning, this will burn through tokens, I recommend the Pro/Max plans if you’re planning on building anything serious. PRs welcome!

The sheet looks simple. Start 1 Jul 2026. End 31 Jul 2026. Expense, type, notes, amount. A TOTAL cell sitting at 600.I used the official web workbench. Not a pasted excerpt. The brief was specific: inspect the whole workbook, rebuild totals I can keep using, compare them to the TOTAL cell, flag duplicates / blanks / dates outside the window / spelling and format mess, point every important number back to a cell, mark UNVERIFIED items, invent nothing, and don’t quietly fix conflicts. It didn’t answer in one bubble. It opened the file, split the job, and the task board stayed on screen. Halfway through I changed the ask in the same task: keep what you’ve done, don’t restart, add a 7-day fix list from the gaps you already found, That was the test. A chatbot starts over, This kept the work that still held. What it delivered It handed back a Markdown report, a one page PDF, and an Excel with a Flags sheet. The report listed every row, compared the sheet TOTAL of 600 to a recount of the amounts, and kept my original lines instead of overwriting the journal. After I added the 7nday list, it did not wipe the first report. It appended the action list to the same pack.

Although it made me sad, my primary feelings quickly shifted to admiration. Scott keeps the show going and as normally as possible. He has that fighting spirit embodied by so many Americans. Getting a personal phone call from President Trump undoubtedly did his heart good — it certainly did mine and so many others. Adams didn’t share all of the conversation. He has too much class for that. I join President Trump, so many Americans and people around the world in my appreciation of Scott Adams. How you can fix your own mood — the Scott Adams way People like Megyn Kelly have called Scott Adams a “Trump whisperer,” and applauded him for for being “a frank communicator.” He’s been praised by the very best of them, from Ann Coulter to Monica Crowley. It’s no surprise to his fans when someone like President Trump expresses his clear respect and veneration, because so many people have been personally affected by something that Scott Adams said. For that person who loses weight, or decides to talk to an attractive stranger, or persuades their boss to give them a raise, or even just to stand a bit taller, Scott is somehow more than a star. ⚡ My first advanced simulation with Grok 3! Finally your OS windows act like REAL windows 🤣 As you know, I've spent more than 2 years sharing all kinds of simulations and mini-games made with Claude, ChatGPT (o3-mini-high), etc. It’s been ages since I last wrote a single line of code. But pretty often, once you hit over 1,000 lines, it turns into a debate against the LLM and you frequently get stuck in a loop that’s hard to break out of. Everyone was raving about Grok 3’s ability to generate code, but until now, I hadn’t really put it to the test. So I decided to challenge it with a prompt that both ChatGPT and Claude were seriously struggling with (debate loop). The initial prompt was: "Use Python and a 2D physics library to create a world where I can generate different static objects like squares, triangles, circles and rectangles. I should be able to move them with the mouse, rotate, scale, and delete them. The cool part is that we’ll see this world through 1 to N operating system windows. In other words, the windows will be like real windows! When one of these windows is active and I hit the spacebar, balls affected by physics should appear and interact with the static objects. You can start with placeholders, but later I'll send you a series of PNG images so they all become beautiful sprites." After a few iterations, I got the result you see in the video. Insane, right? 🤯 Now, with Grok, we have the power to create anything that pops into our mind with just a couple of prompts. It’s mind blowing. Ever since I was 9 and messing around with BASIC on my MSX, I've been hooked on visual simulations... And now I can create them using nothing but natural language. It's f***** amazing that we're living in this historic moment!

As you sit here in mid-2026, with Bluebirds launching, commercial service activation approaching, and the government pipeline accelerating, where are you spending most of your time as President and Chief Strategy Officer? And more broadly, what are your two to three highest priority objectives over the next 18 months as you transition from what has primarily been an R&D and manufacturing story into a scaled revenue-generating operating company? Thank you. And for those who don't know us that well, we were founded about a decade ago around the direct-to-device opportunity. That's what we do. That's our entire strategy. It's from space, of course, and we build our own satellites, and we'll be operating them and selling capacity on them. But at its core, we are a direct-to-device pure play. And over the years, I met our founder in January 2019, but over the years, telling our equity story, people always asked three questions. Does it work? Can you fund it? And how big will the market be, or will there be a market? And that's our traditional private company questions that we still got even as a public company for a while, and we really retired those risks in 2023, 2024, and 2025. And so this year, yeah, you're exactly right. Traditional growth stuff, scaling stuff is where we are. And for us, if I were to say two simple things, one is network deployment. The vast majority of the folks in the company are focused on exactly that, network deployment now for revenue in 2026 and 2027 and beyond. And then the second one is, I think, building the market out in the right way. This is a brand new service. It's a service that is at the very heart of connectivity. Remember, we all know the trends in connectivity. When I started my career in connectivity, there was a question, bubble, what inning are we in? When is the expansion going to end? And then, of course, AI comes along, and there's always something every couple of years. So for us, we're at the heart of connectivity. We can do coverage better than any terrestrial footprint by its very nature. And making connectivity work for our partners, the mobile network operators, and ultimately for the consumer mass market among other markets, is our focus. So building out that market is our second priority. Great. And let's address the news from last week. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile announced a proposed joint venture to extend mobile connectivity using satellite-based D2D technologies. You guys put out a statement commending the announcement. Unpack this for us. What does this mean for ASTS in practice? Does it change your commercial positioning with the carriers? Does it accelerate or maybe even complicate your path to service? So we really value the carrier relationship. We've organized the business, the technology, the go-to-market strategy. Everything we do, really, is about making connectivity better for the mobile network operators. And so you see that in where we've prioritized the company over the years. I spent $4,699 on a DGX Spark and used it as a chatbot for six months. Not proud of it. But I think most Spark owners are doing the same thing, so let me tell you what changed. The moment was dumb. I had a recording of a client call, needed notes, and my first instinct was to open a browser tab and upload it to some transcription SaaS. Then I looked at the box on my desk. 128 GB of unified memory. Sitting there. Running a chat model I'd asked maybe 30 questions that day. And I thought: I have a supercomputer and I'm about to pay a stranger to listen to my client call. So I tried to do it locally. And here's where it got annoying: - my LLM can't hear audio - the ASR model I found is great but it's a CLI script - the transcript came out in two languages, need translation - summary needs the LLM again - now I want a mind map, that's another tool - oh and here's a scanned PDF from the same meeting, OCR, another tool Copy paste copy paste. Output saved to ~/Downloads/final_v2_REAL.txt. That's when it clicked: tokens per second was never the point of this box. A 24 GB gaming card forces you to pick ONE model, so everyone picks the biggest generalist and asks it to do everything. But 128 GB doesn't force that. You can keep six specialists loaded at once. A 1.7B speech model transcribes better than a 35B chat model ever will. A tiny translation model just translates and doesn't get creative. The big LLM does the thinking, and only the thinking. I spent $4,699 on a DGX Spark and used it as a chatbot for six months. Not proud of it. But I think most Spark owners are doing the same thing, so let me tell you what changed. The moment was dumb. I had a recording of a client call, needed notes, and my first instinct was to open a browser tab and upload it to some transcription SaaS. Then I looked at the box on my desk. 128 GB of unified memory. Sitting there. Running a chat model I'd asked maybe 30 questions that day. And I thought: I have a supercomputer and I'm about to pay a stranger to listen to my client call. So I tried to do it locally. And here's where it got annoying: - my LLM can't hear audio - the ASR model I found is great but it's a CLI script - the transcript came out in two languages, need translation - summary needs the LLM again - now I want a mind map, that's another tool - oh and here's a scanned PDF from the same meeting, OCR, another tool Copy paste copy paste. Output saved to ~/Downloads/final_v2_REAL.txt. That's when it clicked: tokens per second was never the point of this box. A 24 GB gaming card forces you to pick ONE model, so everyone picks the biggest generalist and asks it to do everything. But 128 GB doesn't force that. You can keep six specialists loaded at once. A 1.7B speech model transcribes better than a 35B chat model ever will. A tiny translation model just translates and doesn't get creative. The big LLM does the thinking, and only the thinking. Here is a live demo of our AI solution I've been building non-stop over the past 8 months Binary Defense. How it works: Our own model trained on our analysts behavior. Our analysts submit tickets as false positives/true positives with context which enriches our LLM to be smarter over time. Key Highlights: If its a binary - will automatically spin up an agent for reverse engineering it and using EMBER ML to understand behavior and intent of the binary. File formats: Supports a vast array of pretty much any filetype, including email attachments like SVG, LNK, etc. Can handle DLLs, ELF, EXEs, PDF, XLS, DOC, etc. Interrogates the full chain of all events irrespective of log sources. Can handle any format of logs and integrates into APIs of customers for additional agentic data looping for confidence ranking when needed. This is an example of the back-end UI, this is transparent to analysts and enriches the alarms automatically in our SOAR. In these examples there's three different types: 1. Regsvr32 + sct downloader + scrobj.dll code execution - checks reputation of domain, pulls in threat intel, looks at entire picture of the chain - downloads the file itself and inspects for code analysis. Determines if malicious as well as historically looking back if seen in customer before in past. 2. Powershell Obfuscation - uses a universal decoder to un-obfuscate powershell and look at the raw code. Can handle pretty much any obfuscation thrown at it (thanks Justin Elze). 3. Email with malicious SVG - checks tonality of email, are they creating urgency to take action (increases confidence) - disassembles SVG to understand malicious content - checks URL to determine if harvesting credentials, payload delivery, etc. Creates an entire kill chain analysis with full response and dissecting of the attack to the analyst in seconds. Has greatly sped up our ability to respond to incidents and allowing analysts to focus on the most important alarms through prioritization. Once cool thing I've worked heavily on is a synthetic data normalizer which when an analyst says "Yes this is bad with context" or "No this is a false positive" - our local model generates training data to be smarter in the future without using the actual customer data to train it. The customers actual data is immediately destroyed once training data off of the original alarm is generated and contains no customer-centric data at all. We also have three model tiers. Opt-In (collective model, again no customer data but every organization contributes to training). Opt-Out - does not train on any customer data for customers who opt-out. Private LLM - LLM created specifically for individual customer and trains only off of their data. Uses shared model collective for better confidence rankings. It will generate automated playbooks to run based on confidence rankings to take action on behalf of the customer. Still human driven on execution - has to approve playbook actions. This thing is cooking and so cool to see this work live and shut down attackers much faster! If confidence ranking is low - will automatically attempt to enrich data through customer environments for better confidence rankings. Additionally if the model isn't trained well on a certain technology, I have created something we call "Nexus" that will research new protocols, devices, SDKs, etc and generate training data automatically. After 8+ years on the Tesla Autopilot team and 3 years at Intel, I started Apex Compute to design a new architecture for efficient AI inference. For the past 9 months, we’ve been building our custom inference accelerator. Today we’re releasing Unified Engine v1. Last June we raised our seed round with Maxitech , DeepFin Research, Soma Capital and an incredible group of angel investors. In less than 9 months, we completed our RTL architecture and brought our first pre-silicon prototype to life on FPGA. Our architecture combines systolic array and vector processing in a single compute engine with multiple architectural optimizations, achieving very high FLOPs utilization. A single engine is super lean and it uses less than 90K LUTs and 1 MB Block RAM. It may also be one of the smallest logic-footprint compute engines developed so far. Our Unified Engine v1 supports: -matrix-matrix multiplication (~95% FLOPs utilization) -softmax (~90% FLOPs utilization) -broadcast and element-wise operations -RMSNorm / LayerNorm -block quantization/dequantization (fp4, int4) -multi-engine synchronization and many other operations. We even implemented memory-efficient attention similar to FlashAttention, reaching ~90% FLOP utilization. Full benchmarks and the software stack are available on our GitHub: We have basic compiler written in Python and it supports PyTorch tensors directly to easily test and transfer tensors between the accelerator and host using bf16, fp4 and int4 formats. Our FPGA prototype can already run LLM inference and outperform NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, even on a mid-tier FPGA setup (6.4x lower memory bandwidth, 18% slower clock speed at 4.5 Watts). This is the first real AI cold war. Anthropic is HIDING secret spy code inside its most popular coding tool. The code was designed to identify Chinese users without their knowledge. Now Alibaba has banned every single Anthropic product from its entire company. And the full picture is way more insane than either side wants you to see: On June 30, a security researcher on Reddit reverse-engineered Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding agent that has deep access to every file on your computer. What they found buried inside the software was genuinely disturbing... Since April 2, Anthropic had been silently shipping hidden detection code inside every copy of Claude Code. The code checked whether your system timezone was set to Shanghai or Urumqi. It scanned your proxy settings against a hardcoded list of Chinese corporate networks, specifically targeting Alibaba, ByteDance, Baidu, and Moonshot AI. But here is the part that made security researchers lose their minds: The code did not send a normal signal back to Anthropic's servers. Instead it used steganography, a technique from military intelligence, to hide its findings INSIDE the text Claude was already generating. It swapped invisible Unicode characters in Claude's system prompt. Changed a standard apostrophe to one of three visually identical but technically different characters depending on which flags triggered. Switched date formats from dashes to slashes. Invisible to the human eye. But perfectly readable by Anthropic's backend. The detection logic was XOR-obfuscated to prevent anyone from finding it during a code review. It shipped with zero disclosure in the release notes. Three months of silent surveillance baked into a tool that has full access to your local file system. An Anthropic engineer confirmed the whole thing on X on July 2. Called it "an experiment we launched in March that was meant to prevent account abuse." Said the team had "been meaning to take this down for a while." The code was removed on July 1, one day after the Reddit post went viral. Three months of covert user fingerprinting. Removed the day after someone found it. Described as an experiment they forgot to turn off... Now here is where it becomes a full blown corporate war: Three weeks before the backdoor was discovered, Anthropic had sent a letter to the US Senate Banking Committee accusing operators linked to Alibaba's Qwen AI lab of running the largest model theft campaign in the company's history. 25,000 fake accounts. 28.8 million queries over 44 days. All designed to copy Claude's reasoning capabilities and train a competing Chinese model for free. So the sequence reads like this: Alibaba allegedly steals Claude's brain using 25,000 fake accounts. Anthropic responds by secretly embedding surveillance code inside Claude Code to catch them. A Reddit user catches Anthropic doing it. Alibaba uses the discovery as justification to ban every Anthropic product from its entire workforce effective July 10 and force 200,000 employees onto its own tool, Qoder. The thief caught the cop planting a wiretap. And now the thief is using the wiretap as evidence that the cop is the real criminal. Alibaba classified Claude Code as "high-risk software with security vulnerabilities" in an internal notice reported by the South China Morning Post. Meanwhile Anthropic is simultaneously fighting the Pentagon over a blacklist designation, lobbying Washington to crack down on Chinese distillation, and getting caught running the exact kind of covert operation that makes their "responsible AI" branding look like a punchline. The most valuable stock tip in Wall Street history was given for free in June 1983, in a tent in Aspen, by a 28-year-old founder whose flagship product was seven months from launch. Networks that let a computer in California send software to a buyer in Nebraska. Radio waves so any device could talk to any other without a cable. A computer light enough to carry in a briefcase and cheap enough that a family bought one instead of a second car. Voices for input. Screens for storage. Objects on desks in every home.
