Kedarnath is a tremendous space. The utterance of the sound “Shiva” attains a completely new dimension and significance in Kedar. It is a space which has been specially prepared for this particular sound. When we utter the word “Shiva,” it is the freedom of the uncreated, the liberation of one who is not created. It is almost like on this planet, the sound “Shiva” emanates from this place. For thousands of years, people have experienced that space as a reverberation of that sound. This is also a place that has witnessed thousands of Yogis and mystics of every kind. When I say every kind, you cannot imagine those kinds. These are people who made no attempt to teach anything to anyone. Their way of making an offering to the world was by leaving their energies, their path, their work – everything – in a certain way in these spaces.

The mother is pushing her calf to the surface, desperately trying to help it breathe. The rest of the pod isn't just watching; they are "escorting" her, protecting her while she mourns. Hello guys. In case you don’t know what’s going on in Watamu, the Watamu park was taken up by the affordable housing project and the locals rejected it, went to court . On 24th Dec The court issued an injunction to stop any further work on the said plot, however over the weekend locals complained that the falling of trees and clearing is still on going as seen in this video despite the court order. We went to serve the court order today and successfully managed to eject the workers from the park. This is utterly shameful and should not be allowed!

Infants use every tool in their toolbox to mimic their most trusted caregivers. This little one, shared to FB by Kristen Humphrey, is an amazing example. Listen to how close he comes to saying “I love you” back to his dad. How does he do it? The answer is using both sight and sound. Watch how carefully he’s studying his father’s face, using not only the cadence and sound of dad’s words but the subtle movements of his mouth to help inform his own try. And wow does he ever come close! This is how so much learning begins for infants: up close and face to face - which makes it particularly important that you carve out time to interact directly with your baby. Not just in proximity. Not in the presence of a screen. But eye to eye and face to face. It’s where the magic happens.

This little one has nothing but love for her shadow. 😍 But that’s not how all toddlers react. Young children experience light and shadow from birth. But as they become mobile, their OWN shadows become more and more evident. And this can be a little terrifying. I’ve run across dozens of videos of toddlers scared to death of the kid-shaped apparitions trailing them around. One way to help neutralize this fear is to engage in some proactive shadow play with your toddler. Using a flashlight (or the natural lighting in your home), show off - and discuss - your own shadow on a wall and encourage your child to play along. Demystifying their origins can go a long way toward making shadows commonplace and fun for your child - as they clearly are for this sweet little one. How did/does your toddler react to the sight of their shadow - and how did you help them them gain comfort with it? This terrific video was shared by a parent with the request it remain anonymous. On August 16, 1944, an American colonel Welborn Barton Griffith Jr. was given an order to target a Catholic Cathedral in France— which allegedly had Nazis inside. His gut told him this order was odd—so he questioned it, volunteering himself to cross enemy lines to see if the Nazis were in fact inside. Accompanied by another soldier, they learned that the intelligence they had received was wrong, the Cathedral was empty. They rang the Cathedral bell to signal to their fellow Americans not to attack. This is not the first time that Americans were inexplicably told to bomb and/or destroy Churches and monasteries at the end of the war… Yesterday we arrived 20,000 strong at the Chartes Cathedral, still standing. After having walked 60 miles in 3 days through rain, mud, and scorching sun, some arrived being carried by others—most of us limping with blisters and bruising. But what a sight. To see the spires of the Cathedral—the French citizens of this small town lined up on their lawns waving their flags, applauding to greet us, holding their children, and joining in Latin prayer is something I will never forget. 🇫🇷🇺🇸
