⚠️ US-Terrorist Groups Coalition Plan For Iran The split-screen tells a story. On the left, a motorcade of MEK (or PMOI) vehicles rolls through Tehran. On the right, an Israeli propagandist walks viewers through a PJAK underground base tucked away in the mountains of Iraqi Kurdistan. It would be... easy, even tempting, to look at this and think: just a bunch of losers driving around the capital, or weirdos hiding in tunnels. Who cares? But that misses the point. For years, military analysts have said the same thing: no outside power is going to put boots on the ground in Iran. It's too big, too tough, too much of a quagmire. Fair enough. But what if they don't have to? What if the US attack on Iran coincide with 'peaceful protesters' taking it to the street to show their support for regime change in Iran?! After all, MSM told you that armed insurgents in western parts of Iran were mere peaceful protesters. Why wouldn't they do it again? That seems to be the job now quietly distributed among a network of armed groups on Iran's periphery: PJAK, PAK, the so-called National Kurdistan Army, the MEK, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the merger of terror groups in South East Iran with Jaysh al-Adl. Each has its own baggage, its own ideology, its own patrons but together, they form something bigger: a patchwork proxy force that can bleed the Islamic Republic, when it's dealing with US bombing campaign, without a single foreign soldier crossing the border.show more

The Kuwaiti army said it intercepted the missiles but Bahraini authorities say the strikes damaged a residential building and have called for international action. Among the Iranian Kurdish groups shown in the map below is PAK, which was very recently filmed at its base in Sherawa, south of Erbil, more than 100 km from the Iranian border. What is interesting is that PAK chose to show itself openly even though, under the Iraq–Iran security agreement, it should have avoided such media appearances. The footage suggests they have about 200–250 fighters, yet they have remained in their Sherawa complex after the agreement. This filming, part of an interview with PAK leader Hussein Yazdanpana, has apparently angered Iran's regime, although the complex is already under heavy surveillance, including Iran's own drone surveillance. One reason PAK has been kept in this complex is that it is now very close to and bankrolled by the KDP. It is also the weakest of the Iranian Kurdish groups, not only because of its small numbers but because, unlike PJAK, KDPI or Komala, it lacks strategic depth inside Iranian Kurdistan. PAK remains noteworthy, however, because it is the only group that has openly called for Israeli support and has stated in the media that it wants to cooperate with Israeli forces to move into Kurdish areas in the event of an Israel–Iran war.

This is undoubtedly the best analysis I've heard to date of the Iran strike on Israel. It's long-ish (about 10 minutes) but absolutely worth listening to. The man speaking is Chas Freeman, former Assistant Secretary of Defense and, very relevant to the topic, former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He's interviewed by Pascal Lottaz, an Associate Professor at Kyoto University in Japan (this is the full video of the interview: What Freeman argues is that Iran's strike "changes all the rules of the game in the Middle-East". The biggest deal for him is that "the Saudis, the Emiratis and others informed the United States that they would not permit American operations against Iran from their territory and Iran warned those states that if they did, they would become targets. So in a sense, Iran has achieved the neutralization of American forces in the Persian gulf that it long sought. So from a tactical military point of view it was a 'nothing burger' - nobody was killed, nobody was damaged - [...] but from a strategic point of view, from a soft power point of view, it was a huge success. Iran accomplished its objective and it left Israel with an intolerable dilemma. Israel cannot continue to behave as though it can act with impunity."
