49ers just wrapped up Block 2 of camp with a reminder of how good Brock Purdy is — even without his top 3 WR (Evans/Stribling injuries are NOT serious), Purdy's offense managed some crisp success: 🏈Demarcus Robinson was Purdy's favorite WR, reminiscent of when 49ers beat Philly with a skeleton crew. The deep out was the duo's bread and better 🏈Best play: Excellent one-handed catch from TE Brayden Willis on a corner route from Mac Jones. 🏈Deommodore Lenoir had two more PBUs — including one on a Purdy-Robinson deep out. CB1 been very active this camp and said this morning on KNBR that he's as locked in as ever 🏈6-3 rookie CB Ephesians Prysock notched a nice reaching PBU vs 5-9 Junior Bergen. 🏈Speaking of Bergen, he's making quite a few plays on offense and I wouldn't be quick to discount him in the punt return battle. FWIW, Bergen has made more offensive plays than Jacob Cowing, with whom he may be in a battle for a 53-man spot 🏈49ers did some red-zone work today where safety Ji'Ayir Brown had a nice, athletic PBU in the corner against TE Jake Tonges. Jordan Watkins later caught a TD from Jones in the corner 🏈New RB Khalil Herbert is wearing No. 40. He dished out some real contact on his first run — at 212 but just 5-9, Herbert is not a player defenders enjoy running in to. “One of the most complicated hostage rescue missions in history.” The operation to rescue the hostages from Nusayrat was named "Summer Seeds" and is defined by the IDF as one of the most complex ever for hostage rescue. The hostages were held in a heavily civilian populated area, above ground, in buildings of 3-4 stories. The forces stormed the two separate targets where the hostages were held, with Noa held on the first floor and Andrey, Shlomi, and Almog on the third floor of another building, hundreds of meters apart. Hamas moved the four hostages from apartment to apartment, and the concern was that if the forces only stormed one building, the terrorists would escape with the hostages in the second building. The Air Force gathered intelligence from the air in the last few days, and the IDF and Shin Bet created conditions to reach the targets without the terrorists shooting the hostages first, which was key to the operation's success. The models built by the Yamam (Israel's counter-terrorism unit) reminded senior military officials of the models established for the Entebbe operation, with buildings, streets, and small areas for practice. The main problem was in the apartment where Andrey, Almog, and Shlomi were held, and where Yamam fighter Arnon Zamora was killed. The rescue took place under heavy fire, and during the disengagement, dozens of terrorists with RPGs and machine guns ran through the alleys towards the targets. As a result, uninvolved Gazan civilians were also killed in the dense fire exchange. The military said, "The difference between success and failure in such an operation is a hair's breadth, and we relied on exceptional technology from the Intelligence and Shin Bet. Without ground activity and maneuvering in the Gazan area, it would not have been possible to succeed in such operations." The IDF also noted that the rescue was made possible by Commander Zamora's heroism. "Shin Bet and Intelligence Directorate fighters entered the lion's den in the refugee camp and dismantled houses in areas where we hadn't maneuvered," they said. Recently did an interview with the lead developer of Knight's Path on the title's future release and the state of the industry. The Western AAA gaming industry has shifted its focus away from its core audience, favoring products for smaller, less engaged demographics. This shift has led to a noticeable disconnect between large publishers and their traditional fan base. This has, however, created an environment for indies to thrive. They can prioritize authenticity and community, crafting games that resonate with their players and that is exactly the case with Knight's Path. In December of 2023, Knights Path: The Tournament was released to Very Positive reviews on Steam. It is a short medieval RPG featuring challenging combat, an immersive progression system, and a nice little story. It served as an announcement, a combat concept demo, and a teaser for the forthcoming open-world RPG Knight's Path, which is currently in active development. I asked what their plans were regarding the scope of the full release. While you might get the impression that Knight's Path is an arena fighting game, that’s not the case with the full release. "Knight's Path will be a proper open-world, story-driven RPG. Of course, as a small indie team, we’re keeping the scope modest. The open world will be compact but dense, featuring one town, one village, castle ruins, forests, valleys, and other areas to explore." Many gamers would agree it is better to have a limited number of fully fleshed-out areas than to present a gigantic, empty world. The Western AAA gaming industry has shifted its focus away from its core audience, favoring products for smaller, less engaged demographics. This shift has led to a noticeable disconnect between large publishers and their traditional fan base. This has, however, created an environment for indies to thrive. They can prioritize authenticity and community, crafting games that resonate with their players and that is exactly the case with Knight's Path. In December of 2023, Knights Path: The Tournament was released to Very Positive reviews on Steam. It is a short medieval RPG featuring challenging combat, an immersive progression system, and a nice little story. It served as an announcement, a combat concept demo, and a teaser for the forthcoming open-world RPG Knight's Path, which is currently in active development. I asked what their plans were regarding the scope of the full release. While you might get the impression that Knight's Path is an arena fighting game, that’s not the case with the full release. "Knight's Path will be a proper open-world, story-driven RPG. Of course, as a small indie team, we’re keeping the scope modest. The open world will be compact but dense, featuring one town, one village, castle ruins, forests, valleys, and other areas to explore." Instead of just talking about it, I wanted to go through it and really break it down to figure out the exact reason for the difference in Jalen Duren's play between the regular season and the playoffs. *LONG BREAKDOWN COMING* First, lets list how much the difference was: Iso in RS: 82nd %ile Iso in PS: 21st %ile Post-ups in RS: 88th %ile Post-ups in PS: 59th %ile PPP on drives in RS: 1.18 ppp PPP on drives in PS: 0.80 Layups in RS: 79th %ile Layups in PS: 19th %ile It was a staggering drop off. Shocking to many of us who watched him all season. So, what happened? Well, #1 I think mentally he was letting his struggles get to him and he started to play out of control. Something that suggests this to me is this stat: He started to figure some things out himself in isolation over the last 2 games against the Cavs. He had six isolation possessions in the final two games against the Cavs; he scored on five of those possessions and drew a foul on the other. Game 6 he started to look confident and really made them pay out of isolation. I really think a ton of it was he got hit with a punch early against ORL and really struggled to handle the pressure and struggles after, and just kept stacking and stacking. So, him being in his own head is #1 for me. #2: His handle got exposed quite a bit. In the regular season, he only had a 4.2 TO% in isolation, which is incredible. In the playoffs, though, that spiked to 20 TO%. On drives in the RS, he had a TO% of 4%. In the PS, it jumped to 13.3%. The first clip below shows how the right-to-left cross he loved doing all season was really taken away from him. Too loose of a handle, and he often got his pocket picked trying this exact move over and over. I think having his go-to move taken from him shook him a bit and left him scrambling a bit in his head to find a counter. The second clip shows, imo, him starting to lose trust in his handle. He immediately turns his back to the defender, which is what you do when you're worried about losing the ball. But, even then, he loses control of the handle and it ends up in a turnover. If I'm the Pistons, I'm showing all his turnovers due to his handle and working with him on tightening his handle and also helping him get comfortable with a counter/second move so defenders don't just sit on the right-to-left cross. #3: I think he really struggled to adjust to the playoff whistle. In the regular season, he drew free throws on 21% of his isolations and 31% of his post-ups. In the PS, it dropped to 14% and 11%, respectively. There were many possessions where in the RS he would've got free throws, but did not in the PS and he was frustrated. In the third clip, you'll see how physical he was being played by Mobley (which we all want physicality in the game). But, in the RS, he probably is getting FTA's here. There are many examples of this where it felt like a lot of his value during the RS was being able to draw FTA's on his drives, and in the PS, refs just allowed more physicality, and he struggled to deal with it. #4: Ausar-Duren duo. I believe in this duo, and I do not think this was the main reason Duren struggled. However, I am not blind to the fact that there were obviously some possessions that hurt Duren. In the regular season, Duen actually got less efficient when Ausar wasn't on the floor. However, in the playoffs, Duren went from 51 TS% with Ausar on the floor (302 minutes) to 64 TS% with Ausar off the floor (121 minutes). In the 4th clip, you really see how the lack of spacing caused a tough shot from Duren. He gets a step on WCJ going right, and probably would prefer to then just use his strength to create spearation. However, he sees Suggs sitting in the right gap off of Ausar, which forces him to spin left. Once he spins left, Paolo is completely leaving Tobias open. This is one of the reasons I really think DET needs a spacing 4 because this should be an easy kickout from Duren to a shooter. He still should've made this pass to Tobias, but a legit shooting 4 I think would relocate to the corner and make an easier outlet/easier to see for Duren. But, he still coulda made the pass, tbf. Either way, you see how the lack of spacing from both Ausar and Tobias forced Duren into a really awkward drive where he was forced into an extremely tough shot. I think if the passing returned from Duren, some of these situations wouldn't happen. Hitting Ausar early as he cuts into the space would work, or hitting Tobias (who again shoulda be making himself more available) beyond the arc results in better offense. But, also, having better spacing probably allows Duren to just get to his original move once he beats WCJ off the dribble. and lastly #5: He really just didn't play well. I can't include any more clips (I'll put some in the immediate thread reply to display), but he really just didn't play well. Missed *a lot* of looks we're used to him making. His touch around the rim left him, looked like he really felt rushed in the paint. He was struggling to secure rebounds after dominating the glass all season (during the RS, he averaged 4.3 second chance points a game, in the PS it dropped to 2.3). During RS, he had a 22.0 DREB%, which dropped to 16.0% in the playoffs. So, I think a lot of factors played into why he struggled so much in the playoffs. My takeaway is I don't think these things are unfixable; actually, I think they're very fixable. Experience of dealing with what playoff physicality is I think is going to help moving forward. All young players have to adjust to that--I think Cade really learned that from NY series to this playoff run. Tightening his handle and just having a second move to go to is not something that should be considered impossible. I'd like to believe it's pretty likely with how much he works and the raw skill he already has with his handle. Pistons adding a legit spacer at the four I think solves a lot and will make Duren's life a lot easier. The most concerning part is mental. And we won't know an answer to that until the next playoffs. Did this experience help him on his journey towards becoming mentally strong and prepared enough to move forward? Did this run help him find a routine that helps him lock in mentally, as many players have said they had to discover? Or will the pressure from struggling last postseason get to him this upcoming postseason? Will he let mistakes get into his head, compound them, and start playing rashly? I don't think the second option will be the case, but no one will know until the next postseason. Honestly, I'm more concerned and critical of his defense in the playoffs (which at times was pretty good and at other times was an incredible struggle), but that would require its own thread. My ending thoughts: I still very much believe in Duren. This playoff run showed he has areas he must sharpen up and learn from, but at 22 that shouldn't be a shocker. He is incredibly talented and made a large jump during the RS. The PS posed challenges he didn't quite have answers to yet. But another run of experience, another offseason of training, and another year older should lead him down a good path. I am fully supportive of paying Duren and extending him. I was in the Oval Office today for the launch of the Invest America / Trump Accounts initiative. Here are my takeaways: 1. This program may have the most bipartisan support of anything I have ever seen. Everyone, regardless of political party, understands the power of giving young children money to compound over decades. 2. While the government and current administration should get immense credit for the program, there were many private citizens like Brad Gerstner, Michael Dell 🇺🇸 and others that persistently pursued the idea until it became reality. They quite literally changed the course of millions of lives with this idea. 3. It will quickly become a game of status for people to donate to fund the accounts. The Dell Family gave over $6 billion. SpaceX’s Gwynne Shotwell gave more than $300 million today. Brad Gerstner is adopting every child in the state of Indiana to give money to their accounts. The list goes on and on already… 4. Companies will begin making contributions core parts of their perk packages for employees. Corporations like Bank of America, JPMorgan, Robinhood and others have already announced these efforts. 5. The Oval Office is surprisingly small in size, but the historical significance of the room is palpable the second you walk into it. The President called it “the most important room in the world” today and I walked away thinking that was accurate. 6. This idea of Invest America accounts has become a magnet for the world’s most successful people. I saw Larry Fink, David Solomon, Lisa Su, and many other Fortune 500 CEOs in attendance for the Rose Garden lunch. It is hard for an idea to fail when this many people are behind it. 7. The Rose Garden was very nicely done. I had been to the White House before, but never to the Oval Office or the Rose Garden. Both seemed elevated compared to the rest of the White House and surrounding buildings. It sounds like the new ballroom will also be a modern structure that mirrors this elevated approach. 8. The staff and admin team in the White House are generous and genuine. Each person was kind, gracious, and seemed to be at the top of their game. Sometimes you go to places and are disappointed with the let down from your expectations, but this was not the case with the White House team. All professionals doing their job. 9. The media loves Trump way more than they let on publicly. Many of the mainstream hosts and anchors were joking around with him like it is one big club, while simultaneously laughing at his jokes and being much more friendly than I expected. He seems to be good for their business, so it makes sense why the public narrative and private interactions don’t appear to match. 10. I never thought I would see a day where NYSE 🏛 and Nasdaq collaborated on an event like this, including the ringing of both bells by one person at the same time. I guess anything is possible if kids are involved. Overall, this was an awesome experience. I know some people like this administration and some people don’t. I learned from Kevin O'Leary aka Mr. Wonderful to focus on policies, not politicians. And the Invest America accounts are objectively a great idea that will hopefully spread like wildfire in the years to come.

Next, Head to Burial Grounds left-side door and interact with the keyhole. 5. Interact with the door again and hold it to open the door and to unlock the underground area. 6. This will spawn a Zursa Bear during a special round (starting the second special round) you need to kill him and he will drop The Lantern 7. Place The Lantern in the center of the Underground Room in Burial Grounds. 8. Constellations will appear around the wall. Interact with them as they’re shown on the table in this order: left, right, back, front. 9. Once completed, Astrid will appear and talk, she will then travel to different areas of the map. Head to Turret Gun beside The Lighthouse and place Flak Gun Round then melee with Jotunn Star 4. Next, Head to The Robot Head in spawn and interact with it to search broken piece to get The Transmitter 5. Go to Tyr’s Head and place it inside the Wall Machine thingy at the top of the Ladder 6. Next, whilst inside of Tyr’s Head underneath the balcony there are 3 white lights, 2 of these lights will blink, count how many times it blinks -Both lights will remain on, There is the sound of a light turning on to indicate the start of a new light flashing cycle where both lights will flash at the same time to a certain count (for example left 2, right 5). Both lights will be on and then it will flash another set (for example left 6, right 4). Spin the lockpick until the lock turns white 3x to unlock the cell, then pick up the second Uranium. Uranium #3 Next you need to craft or obtain the Glocke Drop, once you have one call it in, then shoot 20 mid-air zombies it throws up. This will drop the third and final Uranium. 2. At the Dry Dock, you need to call a WunderBarrage (unlocked by completing Wundersignal steps) in on the “02 Building” at Dry Dock (where there’s debris on the stairs), this will open the stairs to the Machine Workshop. 3. Inside The Workshop there is a Claw Machine which you can place all of The Uranium inside of and play a mini-game. -Have a big group of 7 cores and a small group of 2 cores. 4. Once you complete the Mini-game you will be able to pick up The Atomkraft Core (Note: you drop if you zipline, and cant sprint with it) 5. Head to Quick Revive and place The Atomkraft Core on generator next to quick revive. Go into the shed behind quick revive and turn on the generator. You must now defend the The Atomkraft Core until it’s charged. In interrupted you must turn on the generator again to continue. 6. Take the The Atomkraft Core to the barrel on the Storm Bridge and a Mini-Cutscene will play between the Giant and The Robot. Vegvisir 1. After the cutscene finishes, The Dravakar Shard will spawn at Tyr’s Foot, pick it up 2. Pick it up and place the Shard inside the Bloodheim Hall on the bonfire 3. Use WW range attack to light the fire 4. Use Disciple Injection (there should be a free one around the map) and throw zombies into the bonfire (I only had to throw four) 5. A lockdown will start. Kill the boss zombie and pick up the Sunstone from the bonfire 6. Put the Sunstone in the church and do a range WW attack on it. 7. Around the map, there will now be floating rocks and runes. Above the church there will now be a compass with runes and arrows. -Shoot the floating rune rocks with the ranged WW in the order of the arrow lines. If an arrow has 1 line, then that's the first one. If an arrow has 2 lines, that's the second one, etc. 8. Go into Tyr's Head and interact with the console to start the boss fight. Why is the market selling off today? (Save this). Today's selloff is bigger and messier than what we've seen lately, KOSPI crashed almost 11% overnight, chip stocks are getting hit everywhere and it's not because AI demand suddenly disappeared but rather a bunch of fears piling up at once that I think are getting way overplayed. Start with the AI ROI thing since it's been building since last week's earnings. Tesla and Alphabet both kicked off earnings season with big capex numbers and negative free cash flow and even with strong revenue growth both stocks got hammered. That set the tone of we don't care if capex is growing, show us the cash, and it's carrying into this week with Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Apple all reporting, which isn't helping the nerves. But look at what actually happened with Alphabet, cloud revenue grew 81%, total sales grew 24%, that's not a company torching cash on nothing, that's a company scaling into demand it can barely keep up with. Negative free cash flow during a capex supercycle is normal, you build the data centers and buy the GPUs before the revenue shows up. Judging a buildout phase like it's a mature business is the wrong lens, and that's basically what happened last week and what's still happening today. Then there's China chip competition, which is honestly the biggest accelerant of today's move. CXMT's IPO shares rose over 466% and combined with headlines about China's homegrown DUV lithography progress, it triggered a brutal rout in Korean chipmakers, Samsung fell as much as 13%, SK Hynix over 14%, Kioxia nearly 18%, dragging the KOSPI down almost 11% and into an eighth circuit breaker this year. That spilled straight into Nvidia, ASML, Sandisk and Seagate here in the US, with Nasdaq 100 futures down over 1% before the bell. But here's the thing, five DUV units this year against ASML's 131 a year, running performance closer to a 2008 design, is not an equipment moat collapsing, it's a headline that's gotten repeated so much this week it's built its own gravity. These tools are aimed at mature nodes like automotive and industrial chips, not the leading edge logic or HBM that actually drives the AI trade, so the read through to Nvidia, ASML or Applied Materials earnings power is basically nothing. The CXMT pop is scarcity, people bidding up the only pure play China memory stock they can get their hands on, not a sign that oversupply is coming. And Korean chipmakers dropping 12 to 14% in one session looks a lot more like leverage unwinding after a parabolic run than a real rethink of Samsung or SK Hynix's HBM backlog, which both companies have already said is basically sold out for the year. Geopolitics is actually the one spot where the news should be helping, not hurting. US and Iran hostilities seem to have paused for now, which should be easing oil driven inflation fears. If this were purely a geopolitical panic you'd expect oil spiking and yields following, but that's not what's happening, this move is chip specific and Asia led, not an oil shock like a week or two ago. Rates and the Fed are still in play, decision lands tomorrow, and people are nervous about higher for longer language even though a hike isn't the base case. On top of that, reports that Nvidia's five year credit default swap costs jumped by a record margin are getting read by some as a credit risk signal tied to all this AI debt spending. But a one day CDS spike during a market wide panic is a fear indicator, not proof of an actual credit problem, spreads on every big name widen fast when volatility spikes, Nvidia's balance sheet hasn't changed in the last 24 hours. Fed futures are pricing in essentially no chance of a surprise hike tomorrow, this is a hold meeting, and I'd bet the hawkish jitters fade fast once Warsh actually talks. Then there's the bigger liquidity and positioning story, which I think explains more of today's violence than any single headline. KOSPI is down nearly 29% for the month now, steeper than 2008, mostly because Korean chipmakers had turned into crypto like gambling tokens, running way too far, too fast on retail leverage and margin debt, and now unwinding just as hard on the way down. That's positioning excess getting flushed, not HBM demand disappearing or hyperscalers pulling back. Nothing in the actual order books, capex guidance or HBM contract pricing has changed, DRAM and NAND prices are still climbing quarter over quarter, nobody's canceled a GPU order or a data center project. What changed is how much leverage was sitting on top of this trade, and that's getting ripped out in one ugly session. This is one of the scariest looking selloffs we've had all year but scary looking and actually broken are two different things. Every headline driving today, the China lithography story, the CXMT IPO, the Nvidia CDS spike, the Fed jitters, looks a lot less scary once you dig into the actual numbers, and none of it touches real AI infrastructure demand or supply. Charlie Whittingham raced Sunday Silence four times in MSW and Alw. races before placing his future HOF Champion into stakes company. The undefeated HOF filly Personal Ensign, undefeated through 13 starts, competed in just one stakes race through her first four starts for Shug McGaughey. Today, there are fewer options available, and particularly in the form of allowance races beyond sprint distances. This is partly due to the excessive number of restricted stakes races available to two and three-year-old runners, which has had the effect of displacing what were once more natural, less taxing, and ultimately beneficial developmental patterns. Though not as extreme as those which I have highlighted in previous posts, The Puma does display distorted action, as can be seen in the attached clip of the finish of his lone race. He is on the right (turquoise cap). There are distortions in both front legs, and such inefficient action can have the effect of limiting distance capabilities, especially with speed horses. The second characteristic is that he appears to be a strongly-made colt. If you watch the second clip, from his OBS walk video, you should be able to see that he appears to have a muscular shoulder, and a fairly wide chest. Taken together, The Puma's action and body type are more likely to be found in sprinters than "two-turn" horses, and as suggested above, I would be surprised if he were ultimately able to stay effectively over Classic distances. In terms of pedigree, The Puma should have no trouble with the 8.5f. distance of the Sam F. Davis. But given all of the above, and an honest pace, I'm of the opinion that he is unlikely to win. The Met is re-examining 9,000 cases. No one knows the true total, because for decades the people paid to count deliberately did not. Qari Abdul Rauf served two and a half years of six and is still in Rochdale, seen shopping in the town where he abused children. Adil Khan, who impregnated a 13-year-old, called his case racist and a laughing matter in court and argued he should stay because his son needs a role model. And the coldest part. For years the trouble was not the abuse. It was talking about it. Britain’s speech laws have only tightened since, with people jailed over social media posts, one woman handed 31 months for a single tweet. A nation that struggled for a decade to jail child rapists moves overnight to jail citizens for the wrong words online. That is the whole sickness. Rape a child and you may serve half a soft sentence and stroll home. Post the wrong thing about it and the state finds its spine. So make the sentences serious and mean it. Deport who can be deported. Protect the people exposing this, not the institutions that buried it. And count them. Every town, every case, no matter what the number turns out to be. Failed by their abusers, the councils, the police, the courts, and a state more offended by a tweet than by their suffering. Every betrayal preventable. These are children. Several offenders held dual British-Pakistani citizenship, which is exactly why removal was promised and exactly why the failure to deliver it is so damning. Qari Abdul Rauf served two and a half years of six and is still in Rochdale, seen shopping in the town where he abused children. Adil Khan, who impregnated a 13-year-old, called his case racist and a laughing matter in court and argued he should stay because his son needs a role model. And the coldest part. A nation that struggled for a decade to jail child rapists moves overnight to jail citizens for the wrong words online. That is the whole sickness. Rape a child and you may serve half a soft sentence and stroll home. Post the wrong thing about it and the state finds its spine. So make the sentences serious and mean it. Deport who can be deported. Protect the people exposing this, not the institutions that buried it. And count them. Every town, every case, no matter what the number turns out to be. Failed by their abusers, the councils, the police, the courts, and a state more offended by a tweet than by their suffering. Every betrayal preventable. These are children. Say it out loud, whatever it costs, because the silence is what let it happen.
