China sent a new satellite group into space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Tuesday. The satellite group was launched at 19:59 (Beijing Time) aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket and successfully entered its preset orbit. The satellites will make up the Spacesail Constellation, a Chinese low-orbit satellite network intended for commercial use. This launch marked the 642nd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, according to the launch center.

After launching into the air, the rocket was seen falling back to Earth, exploding into the mountainside near the city of Gongyi in Henan Province. The rocket was owned by private Chinese business Space Pioneer. Space Pioneer claims a “structural failure” of the launch moorings which were supposed to hold the rocket in place resulted in the accidental launch. Reports say there are no casualties at this moment.
