GLM 5.1 just went open-weight on Hugging Face, but how does it compare to GLM 5? I have tested both with the canvas tree challenge. 5.1 thinks longer, but delivers wind animation, sun, clouds, and way more detail. Prompt attached: Write a single HTML file with a full-page canvas, no libraries. Animate a tree that grows from the bottom center of the screen in real time. The trunk grows upward first, then branches split off recursively with slight randomness in angle and length. Each generation of branches should be thinner and slightly lighter in color. When branches reach their final size, add small leaves as soft green circles at the tips. The tree should take about 15 seconds to fully grow. Use warm brown for wood and varied greens for leaves against a soft sky-blue gradient background.

Experimented with action horror using sketch storyboards. Got this result on the third attempt and it still requires very careful prompting. The output isn’t quite where I want it yet. After providing the storyboard, I’ve been testing without explicitly specifying shots in the prompt, since it feels redundant to define them both in the storyboard and the prompt. Might be the wrong approach, not sure. Sharing the Seedance 2.0 prompt I used below. The storyboard was created directly in chat through iterative edits.

June 4th, 1994 our lives forever changed. We said, “I do!”. With those two words, we said, yes, to all the highs, the lows, and everything in between. God has blessed us with four absolutely amazing children who are now amazing adults, with their own best friends/significant others (that they’re doing life with), we have three incredible grandsons, and a beautiful granddaughter on the way. We’ve lived where we both grew up (on the East Coast), and have now been out here in San Diego for just over 11 years. We’ve gotten jobs (and lost jobs), we’ve had more times than we can count where we couldn’t make ends meet, even though both you and I were working two, and sometimes three jobs at a time, and we’ve been blessed in ways that we could’ve never dreamed of. We’ve watched both my parents pass on, and are now dealing with the overwhelmingly difficult challenge of seeing your parents struggle with their own health in ways that no one should have to go through. Through it all (even in the midst of the chaos), we’ve been blessed to be by each other‘s sides! I thank God for you every day, Jillian! I love our adventures together (the big ones where we fly to somewhere we’ve never been before, and the little ones where we hop in the car with no agenda, and just drive). I love when we find ourselves in deeper conversation, laughter, and tears of joy then ever expected, and in the moments of silence, where no words are even spoken, but when we’re together, just being where our feet are. As the world (as we know it), keeps getting crazier and crazier, let’s continue to keep Christ in the center of all we do, keep leaning on and lifting each other up when it’s needed, and keep living the lives that we have been so incredibly blessed to live together. hey if you have a 3060, or any GPU with 8GB or more sitting in a drawer right now, that thing can run 9 billion parameters of intelligence autonomously. and you don't know it yet. 2 hours ago i posted that 9B hit a ceiling. 2,699 lines across 11 files. blank screen. said the limit for autonomous multifile coding on 9 billion parameters is real. then i audited every file. found 11 bugs. exact file, exact line, exact fix. duplicate variable declarations killing the script loader. a canvas reference never connected to the DOM. enemies with no movement logic. particle systems called on the class instead of the instance. fed that list as a single prompt to the same Qwen 3.5 9B on the same RTX 3060 through Hermes Agent. it fixed all 11. surgically. patch level edits across 4 files. no rewrites. no hallucinated changes. game boots. enemies spawn, move, collide. background renders. particles fire. and here's what nobody is talking about. this is a 9 billion parameter model running a full agentic framework. Hermes Agent with 31 tools. file operations, terminal, browser, code execution. not a single tool call failed. the agent chain never broke. most people think you need 70B+ for reliable tool use. this is 9B on 12 gigs doing it clean. the model didn't fail. my prompting strategy did. the ceiling is not the parameter count. the ceiling is how you prompt it. this is not done. bullets don't fire yet. boss fights need wiring. but the screen that was black 2 hours ago now has a full game rendering in real time. iterating right now. anyone with a GPU from the last 5 years should be paying attention to what is happening right now.

I made a second version of the transformation video. This time I moved the character into a real environment instead of using a plain white background. I also changed the opening and showed the final transformation result first. The overall flow feels much stronger now. Full workflow + prompts: The interesting part is that this type of video is much easier to make than it looks. You only need a base image, then generate the next keyframe through simple edits or outfit changes on the canvas. The entire transformation sequence is built from those keyframes.
