🇺🇸 Vernius Systems has unveiled an active radar seeker for interceptor UAVs. The video demonstrated a homing head called Archimedes 1A, which was integrated into the Ukrainian STING interceptor UAV developed by Wild Hornets. The seeker can detect targets at a range of 1+ km, costs around $4,000, and... enables automated interception or UAV detection in conditions of poor visibility. The Archimedes 1A seeker could most likely also be used on jet-powered interceptor UAVs (such as Alexa Spatium), potentially allowing them to intercept jet-powered drones such as the Geran-3, Geran-4, and Geran-5.
