Very cool visuals from the engine exhaust interacting with the tenuous upper atmosphere. Relight is a success, which is good, it's a shame the booster didn't have so much luck.

Is that really the exhaust...looks more like something else but the exhaust is making the waves in a plasma?

This guy captured the views from the ground!!!

I feel like the heat shields doing as well as they did is going to turn out to be one of the biggest wins. Pretty amazing.

Big improvement, progress on the right direction

Will the booster issue trigger an FAA mishap investigation?

New screenshot ulocked once SpaceX hopefully releases a photo from relight.

It’is a test no shame

Pipes and flows are tricksy

They will now have data to tune the booster engines to for next time. Like the pressure ragime and on off burn times and pressures so much more i bet.

15 times of no good luck is nothing 'bout luck

I saw it in Pretoria, South Africa

Seems the raptors are good but a consistent fuel supply is an issue? They got it right until the landing burn I wonder if the back pressure from the air pushing up the engine bells is a serious problem?

They'll dial in booster :)

Possibly one of the coolest things I've seen from Starship so far. 10/10 plume interaction

That was so wild looking. I didn't know what I was looking at

Well as you know, these things are damn difficult to start!

Very trippy.

Did this flight have a lower apogee than the previous one?

It was flying out of the cloud of vented fuel that was surrounding it.

We are living in good times to be a space nerd

Could that be from the ship being in a strange "log rolling down a hill" orientation? As opposed to the usual re-entry profile.

Only one engine?

any idea what caused the booster to fail

Looks insane. Very good to have this finally passed, hopefully now ship can go for orbit and start doing actual deployments

Genuinely gorgeous
