Asi Zimbabwe is being run like a tuckshop!! How do you award a company something before they have done feasibility studies? How can it be even be a deal that does not have timeframe? If Bitumen does not have money, is it not wise to advertise to companies who have money?

Former ZINARA board chair said in an interview, that ZINARA pays about $25 million per year for software it uses !! He said attempts to stop the arrangement were always blocked. Thats enough money to redo Vic falls highway in 7 years. Payments have been made for much longer...

So bitumen was awarded the tender based on what if no feasibility studies were done a project of that magnitude was approved with zero info it seems the winner didn't even bid was not aware of such a project they also heard it on media ,Mahumbwe🇿🇼🤞🏿

Bitumen alone cannot provide accurate traffic figures because when a road is in poor condition, people avoid using it. Some may choose alternative means of transportation. Once the road is improved, traffic flow will be significantly higher than when the road is in bad shape.

we tolerate mediocre Gov gave a false statement in 2024 based on TOTALLY nothing but .now bitumen running around with feasibility studies if they come out not workable they may not take up the offer,then it's back on table.MOT/Zinara give us traffic flow states for Vic falls Rd🚮

After 14 years of the contractor's inability to complete the road project, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, revoked the contract and reawarded it to SCC. SCC has now moved to site and work is going on. The Minister was at the site today, to see things for himself.

Until March 2024, the Abule-egba--Sango--Abeokuta expressway was a Federal road. The state got concession and approval from FG to reconstruct and take ownership of the road in March 2024. Immediately after, the state government awarded the reconstruction to Craneburg and they moved to site in August 2024. Work flow is from Abeokuta, and it would progres all the way to Sango-otta. You can ask anyone who lives along the axis. I took these while using the road to Sango yesterday. On duration: On the day of the groundbreaking, Craneburg gave a completion time of 2 and half years, so we are looking at 2026 Q4.

Having driven down to Maphisa yesterday to celebrate the 46th anniversary of Zimbabwe’s Independence I remain deeply concerned about the state of the road to Maphisa. Although construction work has been done on virtually the whole length of the road it is nowhere near finished. In fact for much of the length of the road all that has been done is the grading of either side of what used to be narrow tar. The narrow bridges remain the same and the old narrow tar is in very bad condition. In fact most the road was extremely dangerous. I recognize that contractors are still on site and had parked their construction vehicles to facilitate the high volume of traffic yesterday, so remain hopeful that they will remain on the road until it has been completed all the way from Bulawayo to Maphisa. My fear is that now that Independence Day is over that the contractors will move elsewhere leaving most of the road in a worse state than it was before the work started. I have already had one report of construction vehicles being moved to Masvingo and hope that isn’t going to be a trend. I call on Government to confirm that construction will continue along the entire length of the road and to give an indication when it expects the road to be finished.
