Highway Extortion or Toll Collection? Brutal Assault Raises Questions in Bengaluru mysuru highway A disturbing incident from the Mandya district in Karnataka highlights the misconduct of toll plaza employees on the busy Bengaluru–Mysuru Highway. Mahesh, a young man, is said to have been assaulted after he argued with toll staff at the Gananguru toll plaza over an insufficient FASTag balance. The attack happened two days ago, according to reports, when Mahesh, with his friends, pulled up at the toll plaza in a car. During the routine check, it was found that there was insufficient balance on the FASTag account associated with the vehicle. What was a minor inconvenience turned into a vicious confrontation.According to reports, Mahesh asked for a little while. He apparently tried to reverse his car and called friends on the phone to try to arrange payment or to get help, it was said. But rather than help sort out the issue, toll staff reportedly verbally abused him.Things soon escalated further, with toll workers allegedly seizing Mahesh’s mobile phone and assaulting him, officials have reported. It is said that they chased, manhandled and beat the young man down with “goonda”-like behaviour, bystanders said. The assault has been met with anger, especially as toll plazas are supposed to treat commuters with professionalism and safeguard them from harm. Video of it on his mobile phone is now on the internet, circulating across social media. Visual evidence has been instrumental for highlighting the severity of the incident. "There's yet another incidence of the issues that plague toll plazas all over India, whether it be over FASTag balances or payment points, which leads to clashes from time to time," said Mr Sharma. FASTag was also initiated to facilitate toll payments and eliminate holdups for payees, but events like these have demonstrated that staff need to be better trained to respond to disputes peacefully and legally. A viral video will be investigated by the authorities.People and commuters have appealed to the authorities to take strong actions on those charged, who will, apparently, have to be prosecuted for a payment dispute that was never violent. Mandya toll assault is a reminder that convenience must be combined with the good behaviour of responsible human beings on systems. Holding toll staff accountable and imposing strict guidelines for working the sites for staff must be a top priority to prevent incidents like this in the future. Karnataka State Police S. A serious incident has been reported from Siddhartha Medical College in T. Beguru village of Nelamangala taluk, where a lecturer allegedly proposed to a female student inside a classroom, leading to a tense situation and subsequent violence on campus. The accused lecturer has been identified as Abdul. According to initial information, he reportedly approached the student during class hours and offered her a chocolate while proposing to her. The unexpected act was strongly opposed by the student, who allegedly reacted by hitting him with a slipper. Following this, the situation escalated quickly. Other students on campus gathered and confronted the lecturer. Reports suggest that a group of students chased Abdul across the campus and physically assaulted him near a parked vehicle. The assault reportedly continued within the college premises, where the lecturer was beaten by students. As the situation intensified, Abdul managed to escape from the spot while being attacked. The incident has also led to allegations of misconduct against the lecturer, with claims of inappropriate behaviour towards the student. The episode took place under the jurisdiction of the Nelamangala Rural Police Station. Authorities are expected to look into both the alleged harassment and the assault that followed. The college, which is associated with Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, witnessed a chaotic scene as the incident unfolded, drawing attention to safety and conduct within educational institutions. Further investigation is likely to determine the full sequence of events and any legal action that may follow.

Dagknight technical progress As would be mentioned in a still unshared post by Michael Sutton, the dagknight effort is split into v0 devnet, v1 testnet and v2 mainnet candidate. I’ve been testing the current v0-based implementation in a small devnet with the help of some testers who run nodes and miners with me. The DK work can be thought of as split into two parts: (1) implementing the actual protocol and (2) wiring it up and using it. The testing and development over the last month has been focused on (2). Obviously, DK is a consensus change for selecting parents. What’s not so obvious is that such a change affects DAA, coinbase, IBD, pruning and a lot more. Each of these areas is very sensitive and requires proper understanding to wire correctly. An important consideration and difference from GD is that DK does not focus on maximizing a property like blue work. So to maintain topological properties of blue work, an independent (free) GD implementation is kept running specifically for maintaining blue work. This allows us to keep using the property for topology. Coloring and blue score use the megachain induced by DK. The wiring around DK as of this posting is in a working state, but still needs to be reviewed. Next efforts will be focused on protocol specific components, particularly Tie-Breaking and incremental UMC. Attached are some captures from the internal devnet. The dense DAG image is what happens when things related to DAA or other similar consensus parameter causes a node to insist on their POV. The video is a recent snippet of the KGI running on the devnet showing (perhaps not obviously) DK at work. The current “dagknight” branch is now posted on the main repo. A topic in the Public R&D has been opened for Dagknight development.

#امپورٹڈ_حکومت_نامنظور PTI ladies – leading from the front ~ Dedicated to the mothers, daughters and sisters of my nation 🇵🇰 “The world needs strong women. Women who will lift and build others, who will love and be loved, women who live bravely, both tender and fierce, women of indomitable will.” – Amy Tenney And indeed, it is the strong women of Pakistan who are defining the critical phase in the nation’s history. I applaud the womenfolk from different segments of our society who are standing firm to resist fascism. Their sacrifices and efforts will always be remembered. 14th of March marked a day of resistance against fascism which is the hallmark of the current regime. Police and Rangers were deployed in huge numbers around Chairman Imran Khan’s residence to unlawfully arrest the former Prime Minister, where thousands of his supporters had gathered to deny the regime from executing the illegitimate action. We resisted tooth and nail against relentless shelling and baton charge denying the arrest of our Chairman. For hours on end, I suffered a barrage of shelling but stayed steadfast to lead the unarmed protestors. Moreover, the day of 25th of May last year will go down in Pakistan’s history as a day that, amongst other features, signified the rise of Pakistani women to stand up for their rights in the face of extreme state barbarism. Countless ladies from all walks of life showed their will and resilience that day as they came to the streets in protest against the imported Government, braving teargas shells and police baton charge. Amongst the political leadership, most remarkable of all was the sheer strength of character and courage shown by Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a 71-year-old cancer survivor who was harassed by the police initially the night before the march and then on the roads, as police goons damaged her car, smashing the windscreen and pulled her off the vehicle. The remarkably resilient lady, however, was not intimidated and continued her journey to Islamabad. I myself braved through some of the most gruesome behaviour of police as innocent protestors in my convoy from Southern Punjab were continually subjected to the worst form of shelling by the police. Multiple vehicles were smashed up by thugs in bandannas facilitating the police, as it was clear the Government was hellbent on trampling over the right of peaceful protest we as the citizens of Pakistan are supposed to have. My convoy, regardless, moved on with intent, removing obstacles and making way for the other marchers as we were amongst the first ones to reach D-Chowk. I also continually updated the progress of the march from my social media accounts. Additionally, the bravery shown by Shireen Mazari – the way she has risen to challenge and has exposed sheer hypocrisy and double standards is also commendable. She has most effectively taken up the burning issue of the diplomatic cipher at the heart of the regime change episode, and called out different parties to clarify their positions regarding how they are fulfilling their duties to the country. Amongst countless womenfolk in PTI, some notable leaders to specifically mention here include Barrister Maleeka Bokhari who stood firm and continued to move on despite the heavy shelling, and has also wonderfully been working on the cases for the restoration of the rights of protestors. Others including Kanwal Shauzab MNA, Aliya Hamza Malik and Musarrat Cheema are role models for women across the country in this struggle for freedom. This struggle for defying the imposed imported Government and for genuine freedom of Pakistan is a national movement rather than a political one. And the nation’s females are an integral part of the resistance. The nation won’t be cowed down by state brutalities as we know the power of truth trumps everything. When a nation is blessed with responsible and courageous females, it cannot be denied its true freedom for long. #WomenEmpowerment #9thAprilBlackDay

Netanyahu has arrived at the White House to meet with President Trump to discuss the 21-Point Plan 📜 Trump’s 21-Point “Day After” Plan for Gaz: 1. Gaza will be a de-radicalized, terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors. 2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of its people. 3. If Israel and Hamas agree to the proposal, the war will immediately end, with the IDF halting all operations and gradually withdrawing from the Strip. 4. Within 48 hours of Israel publicly accepting the deal, all living and deceased hostages will be returned. 5. Once the hostages are returned, Israel will free several hundred Palestinian security prisoners serving life sentences and over 1,000 Gazans arrested since the start of the war, along with the bodies of several hundred Palestinians. 6. Once the hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence will be granted amnesty, while members who wish to leave the Strip will be granted safe passage to receiving countries. 7. Once this agreement is reached, aid will surge into the Strip at rates no lower than the benchmarks set in the January 2025 hostage deal, which included 600 trucks of aid per day, along with the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure and the entry of equipment for removing rubble. 8. Aid will be distributed — without interference from either side — by the United Nations and the Red Crescent, along with other international organizations not associated with either Israel or Hamas. 9. Gaza will be administered by a temporary, transitional government of Palestinian technocrats who will be responsible for providing day-to-day services for the people of the Strip. The committee will be supervised by a new international body established by the US in consultation with Arab and European partners. It will establish a framework for funding the redevelopment of Gaza until the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program. 10. An economic plan will be created to rebuild Gaza through the convening of experts with experience in constructing modern Middle East cities and through the consideration of existing plans aimed at attracting investments and creating jobs. 11. An economic zone will be established, with reduced tariffs and access rates to be negotiated by participating countries. 12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, but those who choose to leave will be allowed to return. Moreover, Gazans will be encouraged to remain in the Strip and offered an opportunity to build a better future there. 13. Hamas will have no role in Gaza’s governance whatsoever. There will be a commitment to destroy and stop building any offensive military infrastructure, including tunnels. Gaza’s new leaders will commit to peaceful coexistence with their neighbors. 14. A security guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas and other Gaza factions comply with their obligations and that Gaza ceases to pose a threat to Israel or its own people. 15. The US will work with Arab and other international partners to develop a temporary international stabilization force that will immediately deploy in Gaza to oversee security in the Strip. The force will develop and train a Palestinian police force, which will serve as a long-term internal security body. 16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza, and the IDF will gradually hand over territory it currently occupies, as the replacement security forces establish control and stability in the Strip. 17. If Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above points will proceed in terror-free areas, which the IDF will gradually hand over to the international stabilization force. 18. Israel agrees not to carry out future strikes in Qatar. The US and the international community acknowledge Doha’s important mediating role in the Gaza conflict. 19. A process will be established to de-radicalize the population. This will include an interfaith dialogue aimed at changing mindsets and narratives in Israel and Gaza. 20. When Gaza’s redevelopment has been advanced and the PA reform program has been implemented, the conditions may be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian statehood, which is recognized as the aspiration of the Palestinian people. 21. The US will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful coexistence.
