Note: The video above was edited using diffusion. If you’d like a launch video in a similar style, feel free to retweet and DM me, I’ll create one for you free of charge.

if you expose an api I'll give you all my money

haha love that we definitely want to make it as open and extensible as possible. Similar to VSCode

Everything an editor does is pattern mapping - easing, transitions, styles, etc These are all perfect problems for an agent + skills, just need a keyframe api, etc

There is just one minor difference. Try putting 4 hours of footage into the context window of an LLM. Also there are significant temporal interpretation requirements. For reference:

Yeah I don't want to do that - I have a timeline with a multicam sequence - it's about 30m-1h long I have the transcript. I have the footage. Ai should be able to get me 75-85% there: - Remove rephrases / retakes - Add my animations / jump cuts between Cam 1 / 2 - Add fade-to-black start / end etc

That's in the scope of current model capabilities for sure. Will reach out to you when the claude code integration is done.

happy to chat anytime and show you my workflows, etc

Is that

Is what?

@tldraw Tldraw, the canvas company, wants to know if you built the canvas using some Wordpress plugins

@tldraw Yeah all of them actually.

It looks cool, I'm glad that many people have started to understand that canvas is really convenient for everything, I do something like this only to work with AI agents where they can interact with various windows. Good luck!

thank you! Totally agree, the canvas makes it much easier to coordinate different pieces in one place, especially with agents in the loop

Figma for video editing already exists. Try for FREE.

Where is the infinite canvas like in Figma?

this would go so hard in cli too. like i don't want to learn but direct the agent to edit for me.

Stop leaking roadmap pls 😜

haha my bad playa. but for real i'd use this today. also if you're down, happy to have you on my new pod to talk about this whenever it's ready.

🔥

looks super clean! very nice work it looks like the main problem this is solving is going from web-based ai creative studios to native editors and back a bunch of times. instead, it's all right there in the browser - source footage, generated assets, timeline. is that right?

yeah, that’s definitely part of it but the bigger focus is on a more modern, context-aware UX so instead of showing everything at once (like traditional editors), it surfaces the right actions when you need them

sounds great!

This is fireeee looks slickk too

let’s gooo

dope gonna check this out

awesome, let me know how it feels when you jump in

Figma for editing is a strong pitch; now my timeline wants multiplayer keyframes.

Keyframes are already available, multiplayer is coming soon.

holy shit, it's here. this is insane. what????

haha right?? glad you’re excited 🙌

giving figma vibes but for video

That's the idea 🙌

Good one Tiered of using davinci tbh

Imagine a Figma Components or Auto-layout moment for this Video-editing design tool. Today is a great day for motion designers y'all

😀

I hope your origin is the centre of the frame. Otherwise your infinite canvas is flawed.

I initially implemented it like that, but the top left origin like in figma felt better so we changed it. You can still configure the anchor though

So much easier to make responsive content with a central origin.

I believe html and figma went for top left for a reason. With flex box/grid support, responsive content should not be an issue. You should give it a shot, we already implemented relative sizes and object fit, a small step towards responsive video editing

With Motion I can set up three display aspect ratio snapshots to support any aspect ratio from 200:1 via 1:1 to 1:200. At any resolution. Having a 0,0 origin helps a lot.

Have you ever worked on responsive designs in Figma? How did this limit you in creating responsive workflows?

No, have made hundreds of video editing templates for the BBC. In many cases one template could make branded content (or overlays) for use in timelines in all sorts of aspect ratios: 2:1, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 9:21 Responsive in terms of aspect ratio and social safe areas

I 100% understand the world you're coming from, been doing video editing for 13+ years. Like I said I initially copied the industry standard (your model). Though, we now want to try something different inspired by other domains that we also know well (primarily UI/UX design). Btw, this is not meant as a premiere or davinci replacement. We have 0 chance catching up with them within the next 10 years. It's for content creators that don't want to watch 50 tutorials to get started. But still expect professional results

You can’t even imagine how hyped I am right now! I read in the comments that the focus is on video editing but - since you mentioned Figma - please don’t ignore motion designers 🥹

not sure if I see an infinite canvas in video? or rather, why an infinite canvas? whats new here?

Looks amazing.

thank you, appreciate it

Looks interesting, but it needs BYOK. I want to bring my own API keys rather than pay for video/image credits.

totally fair point BYOK is something we’re thinking about for now we offer tokens basically at cost, it’s not where we plan to make money long term

Looks very cool, keep it up

Awesome!

thank you!

@Scobleizer Is there support for local video editing?

@Scobleizer At the moment local editing is all that's available

@artale93 Amazing work dm incoming

I can smell PMF

I love the smell of PMF in the morning <3

used it - delivers on what it's promises 🙏🏼 where you have been for so long 😭? I had to suffer so much

Awesome, glad you like it! Can't vibe code interfaces like this, had to lock in for years to craft it by hand.

can feel the work 💪

the amount of times i've googled "figma for video" and found nothing... this is it, nice!

There had been some attempts actually, like But they were probably too early and then joined adobe. It's about time someone does it for the game and not the money.

This is very interesting, I've always been fascinated with browser based apps because it helps reduce the need of costly workstations when it's all being done server based etc I understand it's more focused on the video editing aspect, as 1st thought it's mainly like a Premier Pro or Davinci-style application, but how will this compete with the likes of other softwares like After Effects as diffusion is claiming to be for motion graphics too, for years it's been a tall order getting an AE alternative, even now with other softwares now coming into the fold.

Honestly I don't see what are you doing differently here.

Appreciate the feedback. The difference is that the center part of the ui is an infinite canvas. You can create and manage multiple scenes on it and freely organize editing assets around your scenes. That being said, we were only able to execute on 20% of our mission. More will be revealed soon like a Claude code integration

Got it. Then I think this video didn't do a good job of highlighting that infinite canvas.

@diffusionhq Looks impressive

wait this is gonna be peak

Looks incredible! Can’t wait to try it out! I just launched something with a similar idea of integrating canvas + timeline editor - @parallaxapp

this is so cool!!!

Just tried it this morning. Very snappy and familiar to someone who’s used to working in Figma. Are there any plans on allowing LUT application or other light color adjusts to video footage?

AND ITS IN JAVASCRIPT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
