Mirwaiz Foundation Launches “Pillars of Faith” Calendar 2026 at Jama Masjid, Srinagar .Mirwaiz Umar Farooq placed under house arrest, prevented from attending launch of heritage Silk Route mosque calendar Srinagar, December 26, 2025: The Mirwaiz Foundation, in association with Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jama Masjid, Srinagar, today launched its Calendar 2026 (1448 AH) titled “Pillars of Faith – Wooden Mosques on the Historic Silk Route” at the historic Jama Masjid, Srinagar. The calendar is a thoughtfully curated visual tribute to the rich spiritual, architectural and cultural heritage of wooden mosques that flourished along the historic Silk Route , from Kashmir to Central Asia and beyond. It captures the timeless beauty of sacred spaces that have served as centres of prayer, learning and community life for centuries, reflecting the depth of Islamic faith and the craftsmanship of traditional architecture. Through rare visuals and informative content, Pillars of Faith seeks to highlight the shared spiritual legacy of the Muslim world and to reconnect present generations with the historic mosques that symbolise devotion, artistry and continuity of faith. However, Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq could not attend the launch function, as he was placed under house arrest by the authorities and prevented from reaching Jama Masjid. The calendar will be available for a Hadiyah of ₹75 from Wednesday at the following places: Jama Masjid, Srinagar; Gulshan Book Depot, M.A. Road; and Book Bell, Budshah Chowk. Home delivery can also be arranged through Swift Courier, Karan Nagar (Contact: +91 94190 62455).
