The recent war in southern Lebanon has proven the weaknesses of the Trophy active protection system (APS) installed on the armored vehicles and tanks of the IDF. This footage released by the Hezbollah terrorist organization clearly shows how one of their FPV drones hit a Merkava Mk4 main battle tank of the IDF exactly next to its APS, and you can see that Trophy did not activate to prevent the drone from hitting it. This is not the only Merkava that has been hit during this recent war. We have seen several other cases, whether released by the Hezbollah terrorist organization or others.

Ukrainian heavy drones, which perform various tasks (as a relay, for logistics, mining and destruction), have become an integral part of Ukrainian defense. It is extremely difficult to imagine the battlefield through the eyes of a UA military without this class of drones. For years together with my fighters we have been preparing for the fact that the enemy is about to scale this direction and a similar class of drones will appear in their hands. For the first time I met them during the Kursk operation. But what was my surprise that Russians after 5 years of war have not yet tested these drones and launched them into series. But it will be changed. Undoubtedly, the appearance and scaling of certain drones on both sides is due to the conditions in which they work (for example, Russian INs are not even close to Ukrainian ones), but it is difficult to find arguments for abandoning this class of drones. And Russians are not abandoning them. But they see a significantly smaller role in them than in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Russian plans include the creation of UAV battalions (which are significantly smaller in number of personal than Ukrainian ones) as part of regiments and brigades, where each battalion will have 4 crews of heavy drones. And Russian newly formed SBS forces according to plans should receive two companies of heavy bombers. And I only hope that this should not be a surprise for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as it was in the case with the completely symmetrical and non-innovative actions from «Rubicon». ‼️‼️🇺🇲 BIG | The USA for the first time shot down a fiber-optic drone The American company Epirus reported a significant breakthrough in the field of countering drones. Its microwave system "Leonidas" for the first time hit a drone with fiber-optic control - one of the most difficult targets for modern electronic warfare means. Previously, the complex had already hit a swarm of 49 drones, but the new test was particularly significant. In December 2025, at a closed test range of the US Army, the system was able to disable a fiber-optic UAV, depriving it of control and causing an uncontrolled fall. The CEO of Epirus noted that the mass spread of fiber-optic UAVs has become a turning point in the evolution of unmanned warfare and has revealed a serious gap in anti-drone defense systems - a gap that "Leonidas" is designed to close. In 2025, Epirus received a contract for $43.5 million for the supply of two second-generation "Leonidas" systems. Its range of destruction is more than twice that of the first version; a 30% increase in power; there are built-in high-energy batteries; a reduction in dependence on external power supply. USF warrior's destroy rare enemy electronic warfare system On one of the directions, operators from the 424th Svarog Battalion of the Unmanned Systems Forces detected and destroyed an experimental russian electronic warfare system known as the "KOP-2" (Detection and Suppression Complex) This piece of equipment represents yet another attempt by the enemy to find an effective countermeasure against Ukrainian drones. The "KOP-2" scans the airwaves across a wide frequency range, detects the frequency a drone is operating on, and tries to jam it with a powerful signal. It's an expensive and rare system, typically used by the occupiers to protect high-value targets — such as air defense installations. However, in real combat, the "KOP-2" couldn’t withstand a confrontation with the Svarog Battalion operators. Their first precision strike disabled the equipment, and a subsequent hit completely destroyed the system. SBS: One step ahead!

German Chancellor Merz on Iran War: The region must not slide into an eternal war with unclear goals. This war must be brought to an end with a clear plan, with a strategy. We are not participating in this war; we said that from day one. That remains the case for us. As long as the war continues, we will not participate in it with military means to ensure free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. To this day, we are not aware of any concept as to how such an operation could succeed at all. The United States of America and Israel did not consult us before this war either. Regarding Iran, there has never been a joint decision on the 'whether.' Therefore, the question of how Germany will get involved militarily here does not arise. We will not do it.
