We have been staging an indefinite sit-in protest for the past 15 days... We received an invitation from the govt for a delegation meeting, and our first round of talks with the govt delegation concluded yesterday, during which we presented our demands in detail and with logical reasoning, specifically, which exams we are demanding be cancelled and the reasons why, we are demanding a CBI investigation and why we are calling for reforms. The govt delegation listened to our demands very carefully and stated that they would place them before the Chief Minister for consideration and invite us for a second round of talks... what we have witnessed from the government's side today has left us very upset... look at the game the government is playing: today, they accepted memoranda from about 6-7 other organizations. Why are they doing this... What is their intention?... Why are they taking memoranda from NSUI? NSUI is the Congress student wing. What kind of demands would they make? Why are they not on the street protesting against the govt?.. The government is playing games, trying to fragment this movement into 2-3 different factions..." He adds, "All the students of Jharkhand stand united on a single platform... At the end of the week, our team – together with American representatives – will continue to translate the points we secured in Geneva into a form that puts us on the path to peace and security guarantees. There will be a meeting of delegations, and the Ukrainian delegation will be well-prepared and focused on substantive work. We remain in close contact with the American side and our European friends. I am also briefing our partners in other parts of the world, and I am grateful to them for their support of our sovereignty and our state. #WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal | Dr Aqeeb, who was part of the delegation that went to meet CM Mamata Banerjee, says, "...We were asked to come for an official dialogue at Kalighat, we went there - when we went there, we even compromised with our demand that the meeting be live telecast. We said to just record the meeting and once it is over, kindly provide us with that recording. The officials didn't agree to that. The CM came outside and requested us to have a meeting over tea - but the junior doctors said that we would have tea only if justice will be delivered. We later gave up on the demand of recording as well and just asked for the minutes of the meeting, but it was told to us that there had been a delay and nothing could be done now. We kept waiting in the rain, but we had to return without any solution and all the junior doctors were disheartened... Today, Sandip Ghosh has been arrested and it shows that our demand was right. What Sandip Ghosh has done is an institutional crime. Many of such principals and officials might be involved in such activities. We want all such people involved in it to resign, we will continue our protests until justice is delivered. We are here for Abhaya, and we will continue seeking justice for her." (14/09)

We had written to the DRM but he did not respond. We had written to the Police seeking permission but in the last 45 minutes they said that permission will not be granted. So, we had to protest on streets. We then said that a delegation will go to the station because we want to propose an alternate to the Railways so we need to see the spot. But Police did not allow us. We do not want any chaose, so we will write a fresh letter to the DRM. But our fight against this policy of BJP will continue..."

VIDEO | Delhi: Speaking on the CJP protest, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka says, "Our meeting with the government lasted around two hours and was crisp and to the point. We had made it clear that we no longer want assurances, we want concrete action. The government has given a positive response and shown in-principle agreement on two of our three demands: Rs 1 crore in compensation and protection from legal cases, including a sovereign guarantee that no FIRs will be registered and no legal action will be taken against protesters in the future. We also conveyed that protesters across more than 150-200 cities are united in demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation or removal from the Cabinet. The government said the matter would be conveyed to the Prime Minister, and another meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. We expect a concrete decision soon, failing which we will be compelled to give another national call."
