VIDEO | Three years after quitting the BJP, Chandra Kumar Bose (Chandra Kumar Bose), the grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, has joined the TMC ahead of the West Bengal Polls. Chandra Kumar Bose says, "I did not want to make a mistake again, so I took my time,... I observed the political parties very closely, and I found that Trinamool Congress practices inclusive secular politics. My ideology is inclusive and secular. When I joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, I was made to understand that I can work in the party promoting the ideology of both Sarat Chandra Bose and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which is inclusive and secular. India, as per the Constitution, is a sovereign, democratic, socialist, secular republic. So my work is based on the constitution of India. But it seems in practice, BJP has formed the government at the Centre, they have taken oath under the constitution of India. But in practice, they oppose the constitution of India. And they oppose the secular, inclusive fabric of our nation. So one cannot possibly work with an organisation who is practising divisive vote-bank politics using religion in political practices. The RSS believes that India is one idea and we believe that India is a multiplicity of ideas. We believe that everybody should be allowed to participate, allowed to dream, and given space regardless of their caste, language, religion, tradition or history. This is the fight, and the fight was crystallised in the election when millions of people in India clearly understood that the Prime Minister of India was attacking the Constitution of India. Every single word that I have said to you is in the Constitution. The foundation of modern India is the Constitution. What people understood in the election clearly, and I saw it happening when I used to raise the Constitution, people understood what I was saying. They were saying that the BJP is attacking our tradition, attacking our language, attacking our states, attacking our histories. Most importantly, what they understood was that anybody who is attacking the Constitution of India is also attacking our religious tradition. That is why in my first speech in Parliament you must have noticed when I describe Abhayamudra, the fact that this is a symbol of fearlessness and it is present in every single Indian religion. When I was saying this, the BJP could not stand it. They don't understand, and we are going to make them understand. The other thing that happened was that the fear of the BJP vanished. We saw that immediately, within minutes of the election result, nobody in India was scared of the BJP or the Prime Minister of India. So these are huge achievements, not of Rahul Gandhi or the Congress party. We are peripheral. These are huge achievements of the people of India who realised democracy, of the people of India who realised that we are not going to accept an attack on our Constitution. I remember the BJP made the poll cry of "400 paar" and that they'll change the Constitution. But after the elections, I was glad to see that the PM was humbled and was forced to bow his head before the Constitution. It was a moment of pride for the Congress party as we were able to explain to the BJP and the nation that no force can touch the Constitution. I know Mohan Bhagwat has said that India didn't get independence in 1947, that the Constitution is meaningless, and that you believe this in your heart. #WestBengal BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Nagendra Roy said, “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is an War Criminal.” He also made several abusive remarks against Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He also made insulating remarks against the Hindu refugees who came to India during and after the Partition. For a month, BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Nagendra Roy is trying his best to divide the people of North Bengal(Northern Part of West Bengal with several districts) along the caste line. He is spreading hatred among the peace loving common people. But, neither the State Government nor the Central Government is taking any action against him. BJP did a blunder by sending him to Rajya Sabha. If he is not stopped, he will definitely create a caste based riot in some district of North Bengal.
