Why is it necessary to have this conversation every single year? It has always been a source of pride for parents to buy newspapers and find their child's name written there for everyone to see. Publish.

Good morning, Team. I feel that publishing them without the consent of learners or their guardians violates the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). It will also create tension to those who failed after their co-learners and family members notice they're not appearing.

No, please stop it. All the results must be collected from school

They should not because let's ask ourselves this simple question, what purpose & to whom does the publication of the matric results for strangers benefit & why? The answer is simple, it's those in privileged schools wanting to look down on those from less privileged schools. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Morning, Team SAMorning, and Mzanzi Viewers. I really don't see why not. I'm also waiting for my son's results.

IMO the only reason not to publish the results is because they are an embarrassment especially when you consider that SA spends as a % of it's budget 2x the the next highest country, yet has the worst outcomes in the world especially in maths and science. So either we are a really stupid nation (which is certainly not the case) or the money spent is not being spent on educating our youth which raises the question - where is all this money going. We all know the answer to this. Summary - in the Entire world SA is No 1 for spend No 1 for the worst outcome. Let that sink in

It's totally meaningless to publish individuals on news papers

During our time we were consulted whether we want them published or not. But nowadays there's POPIA, and all. They shouldn't be published, why should others know about your business because you find ppl that never set their feet in matric buying papers to see if you passed
