Paul Pierce says he didn’t know Deni Avdija name before the season started: “I didn’t know this guys name until about a week before the All-Star, then I was like alright he’s a All-Star, who’s this kid? And I know his name now. You got to earn your name in this league, I don’t care if you have a couple good games. Like, show me something. You know he mad the All-Star team out of Portland and I didn’t think Portland had anybody that’s All-Star worthy coming into the season. So, I’m taking notice to that. And so I was like, "Oh, so I can play the game." They're like, "Well, we don't recommend it." I was like, "No, you said another week. I'll be fine." And so I played the game.
