Parents: I suggest you look at @JillDunlop1 timeline. She visits only newer schools. She refuses to visit vulnerable schools. 100s of ed & kids come home at the end of the day with bite marks, bruises, scratches, often suffering in silence. No interest or concerns in solving this

If you are serious about this then immediately do the following: 1. Police back in ALL schools in Ont. 2. Return to zero tolerance for violence/offensive behaviour and reinstate Principal suspensions/expulsions 3.Remove all divisive Identity politics from schools

Ontario's schools need more adults. We need more EAs and more educators in our schools to keep students safe and help them learn. Children in Grade 6 were in Kindergarten when the Ford government took office. EQAO scores are on their watch, and this government is failing our kids. That is why Ontario-Liberals are calling on the Ford government to invest $1 billion in new education funding so boards can hire the staff students rely on every day. Students should not have to pay the price for underfunding. It is time to give them the support they deserve.

I want to speak directly to San Francisco’s public-school parents and our students. I know many of you are worried about the possibility of a teacher strike that could temporarily close schools—and I want you to hear this clearly from me: our kids come first. As mayor, even though I don’t oversee our school district, I’m deeply committed to making sure our kids get a world-class education—with safe public schools where kids can learn and educators are well supported. It is crucial that our schools remain open. Every day in the classroom matters. I have been in regular contact with both the school district and the teachers union, and I am urging them to keep talking so kids can keep learning. Our working parents can’t afford to stay home if schools are closed. Our special needs students can’t afford to lose access to vital services that help them succeed. Schools are the foundation that makes daily life possible and helps every family in San Francisco thrive. I am also actively working with city departments to ensure we have options for our students in the event that classrooms do close. But I want to make one thing clear—what is best for our students is for the adults to continue discussions at the table so we can keep kids in the classroom. I will continue pushing for solutions that keep our schools open and our students learning. San Francisco’s families deserve nothing less.

The day he took over this government, he announced that he would take special steps for the safety of women. In that direction, the government has launched this scheme for the Singappen Special Task Force. These forces will patrol the hotspot areas, the schools, colleges and other areas where there is movement of women and ensure their safety. I stressed that education is a collective responsibility that requires collaboration across directors, agencies, teachers, and parents. Indiscipline in schools is a challenge and must be addressed collectively, so that schools remain spaces for healthy debate and the nurturing of open minds. Finally, I urged all agencies under the Ministry to continue working together and share expertise to strengthen our education system. The government remains fully committed to providing an environment where students can reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development.

An old student of Tema Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region has confirmed to me that this is the situation in the school. How would students in situations like this turn out if the government pays their school fees but neglects to provide for their teaching and learning needs? The heads of schools are afraid to complain because they fear victimisation from the government. At the end of the day, the government boasts about the numbers that go through secondary school and credits that to the Free SHS policy. But would you like your son or daughter to go through this? This is a school in the Greater Accra Region. Some rural basic and secondary schools are worse than this.
