Bring back School Resource Officers as a starting point. A return to the use of suspension and expulsions is essential as well. Right now, students can get away with anything and they know it.

Parents: I suggest you look at @JillDunlop1 timeline. She visits only newer schools. She refuses to visit vulnerable schools. 100s of ed & kids come home at the end of the day with bite marks, bruises, scratches, often suffering in silence. No interest or concerns in solving this

If you are serious about this then immediately do the following: 1. Police back in ALL schools in Ont. 2. Return to zero tolerance for violence/offensive behaviour and reinstate Principal suspensions/expulsions 3.Remove all divisive Identity politics from schools

Ontario's schools need more adults. We need more EAs and more educators in our schools to keep students safe and help them learn. Children in Grade 6 were in Kindergarten when the Ford government took office. EQAO scores are on their watch, and this government is failing our kids. That is why Ontario-Liberals are calling on the Ford government to invest $1 billion in new education funding so boards can hire the staff students rely on every day. Students should not have to pay the price for underfunding. It is time to give them the support they deserve.

I want to speak directly to San Francisco’s public-school parents and our students. I know many of you are worried about the possibility of a teacher strike that could temporarily close schools—and I want you to hear this clearly from me: our kids come first. As mayor, even though I don’t oversee our school district, I’m deeply committed to making sure our kids get a world-class education—with safe public schools where kids can learn and educators are well supported. It is crucial that our schools remain open. Every day in the classroom matters. I have been in regular contact with both the school district and the teachers union, and I am urging them to keep talking so kids can keep learning. Our working parents can’t afford to stay home if schools are closed. Our special needs students can’t afford to lose access to vital services that help them succeed. Schools are the foundation that makes daily life possible and helps every family in San Francisco thrive. I stressed that education is a collective responsibility that requires collaboration across directors, agencies, teachers, and parents. Indiscipline in schools is a challenge and must be addressed collectively, so that schools remain spaces for healthy debate and the nurturing of open minds. An old student of Tema Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region has confirmed to me that this is the situation in the school. How would students in situations like this turn out if the government pays their school fees but neglects to provide for their teaching and learning needs? The heads of schools are afraid to complain because they fear victimisation from the government. At the end of the day, the government boasts about the numbers that go through secondary school and credits that to the Free SHS policy. But would you like your son or daughter to go through this? This is a school in the Greater Accra Region. Some rural basic and secondary schools are worse than this.
