This is all on the hands of Governor Newsom, who appoints the Parole Board, and the Democrat controlled State Senate, who confirm his appointments…21 members who hate Californians and love criminals. Stop voting for these Democrats who protect criminals over law abiding Californians!

@COCOGOP You know exactly what’s going on, you were an active member in the Legislative Democrat Caucus. Stop pretending this isn’t a direct policy decision of the Democrat Caucuses and forces upon Californians.

@grok what are the names of the parole board members who voted to release him? If you can’t find it publicly, what state agency would I contact to find out?

Then house him next to the families of the parole board. If they are so confident he is fit for society they should have zero issues with this. If he is safe enough for you to live next then he is safe enough for my family.

That's it, dear Sheriff arrest all the politicians that are against the US and California constitution including Governor, Attorney General, Judges and district attorneys.

What moral compass?! Our CA elected officials have done a horrible job at protecting its residence. They have also made a mockery out of our judicial and public agencies. @GavinNewsom we blame you.

You can't hate the democrats and liberals enough for letting criminals and rapists free to terrorize, murder, rape and harm our society, women and children. Who are the people responsible for releasing monsters and killers? They need to be held accountable and fired

This is @GavinNewsom’s California. Hollywood studios and corporations are leaving; refineries are shutting down and gas is taxed even higher as prices skyrocket. Soft on violent and serial criminals while spitting in the face of the law-abiding, taxpaying middle class.

What good is it when the parole board lets them out early? What good is it when the legislature passes bills that bind prosecutor and judges to resentence them? This state is a Supermajority Dem cesspool.

We need to build a 13 foot concrete wall 🧱 around every property line that is reinforced by steel so its bullet proof and car accident proof that keeps people inside and outside equally to make prisoners stay at home on house arrest monitoring.

Victims last, virtue signaling first. Victims who thought they were safe for life now get to relive the nightmare every day. This individual should not be free.

The court’s words don’t carry any weight. That’s what happens when you don’t enforce the laws meant to protect your citizens. Lawlessness. Anarchy.

CA SecState, then Assemblymember @DrWeber4CA, is fully responsible for this felon's release. Her ProgLeft Marxist decarceration agenda was more important than criminal responsibility and public safety.

Why are you still a democrat? Your party, your governor, your comrades put these policies in place. Call @GavinNewsom & tell him to fix this. He appointees who follow what your party dictate are responsible for this.

it's all to save money.... which we wouldn't have to spend if we had killed the offender the second he was found guilty.

On August 2, 1993, 13-year-old Eric Smith encountered 4-year-old Derrick Robie in Savona, New York, as Derrick was walking alone to a summer program. Smith lured Derrick into a wooded area near the park. Derrick never made it to the program, and searchers later found his body in the woods. The investigation quickly focused on Smith. Five days after the killing, he confessed to his family and was arrested. The case shocked the small community because both the victim and the person responsible were children. Under New York law at the time, murder was one of the offenses for which a 13-year-old could be tried as an adult. During his 1994 trial, Smith's defense argued that he suffered from a mental disorder and that years of bullying had contributed to his behavior. Prosecutors argued that he understood that what he was doing was wrong. On August 16, 1994, a jury found Smith guilty of second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 9 years to life in prison, initially being held in a juvenile facility before eventually being transferred to an adult prison. Smith first became eligible for parole in 2002, but his request was denied. He was denied parole repeatedly over the following years. During later parole hearings, Smith expressed remorse and said that he had redirected anger connected to the bullying he experienced toward a child who had done nothing to him. He also acknowledged the devastating impact his actions had on Derrick's family. In October 2021, after his 11th appearance before the parole board, Smith was granted parole. The board cited factors including his disciplinary record, release plan and risk assessment. Derrick's parents, Dale and Doreen Robie, had opposed Smith's release during previous parole proceedings. After the 2021 decision, members of the Savona community held a march and candlelight vigil in Derrick's memory. On February 1, 2022, after 28 years behind bars, Smith was released from prison and placed on lifetime parole. His release was delayed while authorities arranged approved housing, and he was ultimately released to Queens, New York.
