Wonderful and very friendly atmosphere at Selhurst Park Crystal Palace F.C. yesterday for the final game of the season. Wonderful to see Ebere back at the ground where he got a wonderful reception. Congratulations to Arsenal on lifting the trophy for the first time in 22 years. However, I do have an idea for the Premier League …. As Palace season ticket holders we were told under no circumstances were we to swap our tickets and let Arsenal fans have them. Indeed, if we were found to have done that we would be denied season tickets for next year. Completely understandable as I’m sure there were safety concerns. Not surprising though that we were actually surrounded by Arsenal fans pretending to be Palace fans by either wearing Palace shirts or plain white tops for the match only to take them off and replace them with Arsenal shirts they had in their pockets at the end of the game! Now I’m not complaining about what the fans did at all. They were wonderful, friendly and even joined in on “Glad All Over” and applauded the Palace team, players and Oliver Glasner at the end of the game. We got lots of “Good luck in Leipzig” wishes from them too. It was a really friendly atmosphere. But I completely understand their frustration at how hard it was to get tickets for many who were lifelong Arsenal supporters. Chatting with them they said that 2400 seats available for sale. 1200 kept by Arsenal for themselves so only 1200 seats available for the match where they were going to be presented with the trophy. No wonder lots of fans did all they could to get tickets any way possible. So here is a suggestion for the Premier League for next season when working out the fixtures….. Realistically there are probably only 4 or 5 teams who will possibly win the league next year. So why not make sure all those teams have a home game as their final game of the season? In that way the tens of thousands of supporters who go to every home game will have the opportunity to see their team lift the trophy and actually be there rather than having to watch it later on TV? Surely that can’t be too difficult to arrange and if all the potential winners have a home game as their final match there is no unfair advantage towards any of those sides? What do you think? My experience as a Defenders fan going to STL America's Center & The Dome for an away game. This was a solo trip, did not bring my family on this one. The St. Louis Battlehawks home games truly are one of the special environments for United Football League. I’ve been to 4 AWAY games for DC Defenders over the last 12 months and the environment for this one was fired up! They definitely should NOT move STL to a soccer stadium if they keep showing out like they did yesterday. I got to my hotel at 1AM on game day after a late flight from the west coast. I woke up 6 hours later, walked towards the stadium and randomly caught the STL player walk-ins. Then, I walked over to the tailgate and met up with The Bottom Line and enjoyed some mimosas and breakfast burritos with Ed Ploeger and his gang. Thanks for the hospitality! I was able to get him a signed Sam Kidd jersey as a thanks for all he does for the UFL community! After the tailgate, got in for gate drop at 0930, and went straight down to the field. I was able to say hi to a few players and talk with Steven McCrane as his son was nailing 50+ yard field goals with ease. Chatted up and made peace with a few STL fans around me. Once the game started, they had the place LOUD, and my watch kept alerting me that my hearing was getting damaged 🤣 . Being there for the first ever 4 point field goal by Matt McCrane made the travel worth it. After the home fans had a few rounds of beers, the heckling began (which was expected), but I had to pop about 6 beach balls/🎈 as I became the 🎯 for drunk fans as the only DC fan in the section. I tossed the balls back a few times until I immediately got hit with about 3 balls in a row. So that part was a bit of a let down, as I was just trying to enjoy a game. The halftime show was great. Overall, the game experience itself left something to be desired with the penalties and getting harassed by fans who were clearly recording trying to get rage bait engagement on 🎥. Probably won’t be going back to a STL game again, but I’m glad got to check it out! Pregame/Tailgate: 5/5 Halftime: 5/5 Game experience: 3/5 Getting to/from stadium: 5/5

SHAME ON YOU, Mamata Banerjee ! The "Khela Hobe" Circus Turns into a TMC Loot-Fest at Yuva Bharati ! What a pathetic spectacle in Kolkata today ! Our football-crazed Bengali Fans, dreaming of a glimpse of the GOAT Lionel Messi, shelled out thousands for tickets, only to be treated like second-class citizens in their own state. While Arup Biswas, Sujit Bose, and their bootlicking entourage of 100+ VIP vultures swarmed Messi like leeches on a bloodbath, the real fans? Stuck in galleries, staring at a measly 5-7 minutes on a giant screen ! No direct view, just betrayal. And get this: Water bottles banned inside, forcing desperate fans to cough up ₹200 for a ₹20 bottle? Classic TMC extortion racket ! These so-called "leaders" turned a sporting icon's visit into their personal photo-op and profit bonanza. This isn't just mismanagement; it's a criminal assault on West Bengal's pride and betrayal of our passionate football lovers. Enough is enough ! My Demands as Leader of the Opposition:- 1. FULL 100% REFUND for every gallery ticket holder, return every paisa you stole. 2. IMMEDIATE ARREST of Sports Minister Arup Biswas, Fire Minister Sujit Bose, and sham organizer Shatadru Dutta for this Govt Sponsored lawlessness, loot and chaos. 3. MAMATA BANERJEE MUST RESIGN for dragging West Bengal's name through the mud on the global stage. Step down before you destroy what's left of our state's soul. Pre-election selfies with Messi for "Khela Hobe" propaganda? Now the cheated spectators have shown you what REAL khela looks like, exposing your corrupt circus to the world.

Phish performed at Las Vegas Sphere this past weekend (2nd act at the venue after U2). Never heard a Phish song in my life but found this impressive stat: the group’s lifetime tour ticket sales are $600m+. My buddy who went to the Sphere show explained to me why the group is so popular: ▫️ “They are the best improvisational band out there because they’ve played together for ~40 years.” ▫️ “Music selection is super diverse and they blend every genre together (classic rock, jazz, funk, reggae, pop).” ▫️ “No two shows are ever the same.” ▫️ “They create fandom with inside jokes and band lore.” ▫️ “The band interaction with the audience is unmatched…they’ll get you to laugh, cry and scream in one go.” He also said a reason non-fans (like me) don’t know their music is because they’re recorded stuff is not as good as the live (making it harder for casual fans to get into it). The band has also been financially independent since the 90s and there’s no pressure to make “pop” music for radio plays or streaming. They mint from live shows and super fans that will travel to wherever they are and see 100s of shows in their life (similar to Deadheads with the Grateful Dead). Phish sold ~$30m in tickets for 4 shows at the Sphere (~$400 ticket x 18,000 seats x 4 shows) with some fans paying $10k+ in secondary markets. Of note: U2 did 40 shows at the Sphere but Phish only did these 4 and one reason why is that the band wants to keep its promise of every live show being different. It’s hard to make dozens of different live shows for the Sphere because of how much effort and data is required to fill the largest LED screen in the world (160k sq ft): ▫️12k resolutions ▫️ 268,435,456 pixels ▫️a minute of content for the Sphere is comparable to an hour of streaming video Super impressive and — after watching official drone footage of the concert — feel compelled to watch them live (which also makes sense since my last name makes a glorious Phish pun).

Dialectic 52: Jack Conte! Jack is not an entrepreneur who makes art on the side. He is a lifelong artist and musician who became the unlikely founder and CEO of Patreon, the only company he has ever worked for. At his (musical) peak, Jack was releasing 100 music videos a year between his bands Pomplamoose and scarypockets while building one of the few enduring creator platforms on the web. He started Patreon to solve his own problem as a full-time YouTuber: he wanted fans to pay him directly for his work rather than accepting a dashboard that told him 3 million views were worth $18. Patreon is rare amongst its peers: it's a platform built first and foremost for creators, not consumers. It makes money when creators get paid. Jack believes that incentive alignment has helped Patreon earn creators’ long-term trust, and will help it endure as mediums, technology, and platforms evolve. I talked to Jack about all of this and more: - creative endurance and becoming “post-chaos” - why Silicon Valley undervalues art, brand, and storytelling - why art isn't content and getting paid isn’t selling out - creator-first incentives, trust, and 100 years of Patreon - why Jack is still the right CEO after 13 years - leadership: ambition, obsession, self-reflection, and learning from people better than you - Charlie Kaufman, authenticity, and making fans - lucid dreaming and taking more risks Timestamps: (0:00) - Opening Highlights (1:38) - Intro to Jack & Thanks to Notion (3:44) - Start: Prolific Output, Energy, Juggling, Endurance, and Becoming Post-Chaos (22:04) - Combining Creativity and Business and Art vs. Content (33:21) - Advertising vs. Membership & Patronage vs. Patreon (44:06) - Jack’s First and Only Job, and Silicon Valley’s Undervaluing of Creativity, Brand, and Storytelling (and Patreon) (55:17) - Building for Creators First, Incentive Alignment, Trust, 100 Years of Patreon, and Why Jack Is the Right CEO for Now (1:04:49) - Leadership: Types of Ambition, Obsession, Self-Reflection, Bias to Action, and Learning from Others (1:12:59) - Talent vs. Enthusiasm, Being Proud of What You Make, Making Fans and Being True, Managing Parasociality, and Community (1:28:30) - Filmmaking, Labels and Collectives vs. Individuals, Breaking Patterns, Creative Intimacy, Music, Patreon’s Origin, Persistence, Lucid Dreaming, and Taking Risks (1:49:26) - Thanks Again to Notion Dialectic with Jackson Dahl Ep. 52: Jack Conte - Draw the Next Page - is out now, below and on all platforms.

Online Poker since 2009. Winning 6-7 figures year after year. Playing 20+ tables at once, often 24-27, while streaming and battling the best players in the world. Over the last few years, I’ve mostly played just 2-3 sessions per month, without compromising my winnings. My main focus shifted towards creating the best possible content for our students and still proving that the concepts I teach work at every level - from Micro Stakes to High Stakes. I don’t blindly follow GTO. I do what works against real people. Exploiting weak players. Adapting against strong players. Making better decisions, consistently. Showing the Ups and Downs in Poker whilst maintaining a strong A-Game. Poker is simpler than you think. Yet, it is hard to apply. Most confuse it. Trying to apply confusing and unrealistic GTO strategies that dont work in the real world. Making it unnecessarily hard and spending a ton of time outside the game to improve. I built a system focused on simple theory, yet powerful exploits. Doing the same things, over and over again, at a high level. I’ve shared this system with Raise Your Edge students since 2016. We’ve helped many players reach the very top, turn pro, or simply build a strong side income through Online MTTs. Whatever your goals are. And yes, I still play $11 tournaments with the same passion as I do in $10,000 or $25,000 events. Because I not only love the game, but also constantly chase new exploits. The game keeps evolving. It tests you. Not only the strategies, but also your mental game. If you are looking for a simple but powerful system to become a long-term winning Online MTT player, check out my upcoming Online Bootcamp from May 18th to May 22nd. 5 days. Live. Packed with a TON OF VALUE. I’ll help prepare you for a massive summer - online or live. As a yearly champions member, you get access for free. Or you can purchase tickets separately. All info below. Let's make it our best poker summer ever!

Okay. Let's talk about favoritism. In today's entertainment industry, it's sadly common to see companies and artists show clear favoritism, prioritizing international fans, influencers, or famous reactors (excluding collaborators of course) in exchange for exposure, good reviews, or a popularity boost. Some fans are given more perks, better access, or personal interactions simply because they have a platform. And while that may make business sense for some, it often leaves the "ordinary" fans (the quiet, long-time supporters) feeling overlooked and undervalued. And I'm so proud na hindi ito gawain ng #SB19 and #1ZEntertainment. (Very different noong nasa SBT pa sila kasi may mga ano dun...lol, iykyk) Time and time again, they have shown that all A'TIN, local or international, young or old, famous or unknown, are treated with the same respect, care, and fairness. When it comes to fan service, there's no such thing as "special treatment" or "VIP attention" based on fame, reach, or race. Every fan is seen. Every fan matters. Ticket selling? Open and fair for everyone. Merch drops? Walang shortcut. Puksaan kung puksaan talaga. Galit-galit muna sa ticketing site, may the fastest hands and strongest internet win. Walang "special lane" para sa sikat or may malaking reach. Whether you're an international reactor, a big account, or just a regular fan who has been quietly supporting SB19 since day one, you fall in line like the rest of A'TIN. No one gets priority treatment. No one gets left behind. Even fans who go the extra mile, those who spend big on merch, attend multiple concerts, or give expensive gifts to the boys, are not treated as "more special" or "higher" than anyone else. 1Z Entertainment makes sure that these generous fans are appreciated, yes, but never at the expense of the rest of the fandom. Kahit gaano pa kalaki ang nagastos mo o kabongga ang gift mo, pantay-pantay pa rin ang turing. You still line up like everyone else. You still click for tickets like the rest. Walang shortcut, walang pa-VIP treatment. Effort talaga lahat. SB19 themselves make this sincerity felt. They make eye contact with fans in every corner of the venue, they read random comments during livestreams, they acknowledge fans whether you're holding a huge banner or simply smiling from the back row. Their gestures, whether big or small, prove that their gratitude extends to every A'TIN, not just the loudest, the richest, or the most visible ones. And 1Z Entertainment reflects this perfectly. Opportunities for interaction, whether through ticketing, content, or fan meets, are made fair and accessible to all. Clout, money, or fame doesn't get you a shortcut. Being "just another fan" never means you matter less. At a time when favoritism in fan service has sadly become normal, SB19 and 1Z remain proudly and refreshingly different. They honor the very people who brought them to where they are today, every single A'TIN, by making sure no one is left out, no one is treated as less, no one is made to feel unimportant. They will make each of us feel seen, heard, and loved. And that's why being an A'TIN feels different. It feels right. Very fulfilling and very rewarding. Ramdam mong pantay-pantay lahat. Walang pa-VIP, walang pa-special treatment, walang pinapaborang fans. Because here, everyone matters equally. Alam n'yo kung bakit? Ang ultimate bias kasi ng SB19...lahat ng A'TIN. 💙 SB19 Official #SB19xATIN 1Z ENTERTAINMENT

I WENT TO THE GAME ALONE. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️ Here’s my experience: Because of my job, I’m lucky enough to be used to travelling by myself, so buying a single ticket and flying down to Miami didn’t feel that daunting. But I was still cautious. The 02:45 alarm call on Saturday wasn’t much fun and then I managed to miss the exit off the highway to the airport as I was singing ‘It’s Coming Home’ at the top of my voice in the car and had to rush to get through security to the gate! ☺️ I was surprised to have found a direct flight to Miami from Tulsa that got me in at 09:00, so it was an Uber to the Hyatt Place hotel at the airport who kindly let me have breakfast and get in a room at 11:00 to shower and get ready. Flawless. That’s the word I’d use for the organisation of transportation and logistics in Miami. Just flawless. A $15 Uber ride took me to the Martin Luther King train station (one of 4 pick-up points) where lines and lines of yellow school buses stood, each taking 50 or so ticketed fans the 11 miles to the game. Of course England and Norway shirts dominated, but it really felt like a carnival of football with tops from various countries and clubs to be seen here and there. And, man, was it hot!! As we jumped off the bus, in front of us hydration stations had been set up. Complete with electrolyte powder to mix with the iced water from huge tanks. And did I sweat a lot in the next 8 hours! So having downed a few litres of water it was a half mile walk to the stadium. Police everywhere, roads closed, huge energy, fantastic atmosphere. (Lots of locals stood at the end of the driveway with huge signs trying to sell their drive as a parking space for the night. What entrepreneurs!) I didn’t touch alcohol due to the heat - but the bars and food outlets were packed outside the stadium as a carnival atmosphere prevailed. Before heading to my seat I was able to meet a few Albion fans (Sam Harte, Ian Harte, Nick Blanco, Derek Chapman et al) which was brilliant. There we all were, 3500 miles from the AMEX! 💙🤍 I’d only bought a seat on Thursday and had a huge stoke of luck when I found it was bang in the middle of the England end. And what a fantastic group. Everyone introducing themselves to each other and sharing stories of the footballing summer so far. Passionate. Knowledgable. And just salt of the earth characters. As for the game? Well, the chanting was incessant, orchestrated by the England drummer and trumpeter how stood just a few rows behind me. We were together. We were united. And, call me old-fashioned, but it felt very healthy; it felt special. And I felt so lucky to be part of it. The game happened, you’ve seen it, no need for me to linger on that. But at the end there was a lad who was just in tears of joy. Must’ve been in his early 20s and it was clear how much England meant to him. He just couldn’t stop! It was pretty moving to witness. I manage to grab a couple of England jerseys on the way out (only XXXL left, but that’s what Mrs Bard asked for anyway as seems the fashion) and then it was a walk back to the buses in the oppressive heat and under the blinding floodlights of the walkways as random England chants erupted from various pockets of the 1000s of us walking from the stadium. The atmosphere was electric. It was a 90 min wait for a bus but the stewards did a great job and I was back in my hotel to watch the last few minutes of Argentina beating the Swiss in extra time. You know, I’m not a fan of FIFA, and despite football playing a huge part in my life, I was a little cynical about the World Cup in the build up. But as I left the stadium last night, the world felt a better place. It’s been an amazing tournament, but not because of the FIFA suits, but because of the fans. It occurred to me that, just for a while, because of football, division and politics has been replaced with humanity and wholesomeness. And that’s just what the world needs right now. ⚽️❤️

In 2007, a Spanish comedian named Juan Joya Borja sat down for a television interview in Seville, Spain and tried to tell a story about the time he worked as a kitchen porter at a beach restaurant. He could barely get through it. The story was simple. One night he tied twenty large cooking pans to sticks in the sand by the shore and left them in the shallow water overnight to soak and clean. When he came back the next morning, the tide had taken nineteen of them out to sea. Only one was left. His wages were docked to pay for the replacements. The story is not especially funny written down. But the way he told it, interrupting himself every few seconds with a high-pitched wheezing laugh he could not control, toothless and bent double in his chair, was something else entirely. His nickname was El Risitas. It means Giggles. The clip sat quietly on YouTube for eight years. Then in 2015 someone added fake subtitles making it look like he was a designer mocking the new MacBook. Five million views in a month. The format spread everywhere. Politicians, tech companies, sports scandals. His face became one of the most used meme templates on the internet. His laughing close-up became a Twitch emote called KEKW used over 400 million times. When he became seriously ill in 2020 and needed his leg amputated, fans who had never met him raised over fourteen thousand euros for his medical care and a wheelchair. He sent a video thanking them. He passed away on April 28, 2021. He was 65.
