NEW: Air Canada pilot dragged out of the cock pit by a flight attendant while suffering from a seizure, causing an emergency landing. Air Canada said Flight AC7664 was en route from Newark, New Jersey, to Halifax, Nova Scotia, when the pilot suffered an apparent seizure. The captain allegedly yanked the wheel, causing the aircraft to jolt sideways, alarming passengers. The flight attendant dragged the pilot out of the cockpit, and passengers held down the pilot, who was seizing, for about 40 minutes. The first officer took over as captain and safely diverted the plane to an emergency landing in Boston. Rodney McDonald, who was traveling with his wife and 2 sons, said, "It really felt like someone had jilted the controls, and then it happened over and over again. And, you know, every thought goes through your mind, you start praying. My boys instantly started praying."

Icelandair pilot under investigation after flying at a low altitude over the town of Vestmannaeyjar on Saturday. The Boeing 757 was on a scheduled flight from Frankfurt when the pilot on his last flight went on a sightseeing flight over his childhood home in the Westman Islands without the knowledge or permission of the company. Chief Flight Officer at Icelandair Linda Gunnarsdóttir said in a statement, "This is just a very serious matter that we will look into here internally. It's just the case in aviation that everything is very rigid in work processes, checklists and other things like that, what we do in normal passenger flights, and it doesn't fall within that framework." Linda says she expects passengers to have been informed about the sightseeing flight, but she cannot say that yet. She is also unable to comment at this time on the consequences for the pilot, who is leaving the company. The matter is, as previously stated, under consideration by the company.

This is crazy: Despite being boarded and told that the plane was “good to go” by DEI inspections- An American Airlines pilot made the tough call to cancel his 6 hour flight over Hawaii waters because the oil pressure in one of his engines was trending upwards. He then made everyone get off the plane before take-off. DEI Inspections tried to glaze it over and tell the pilot that essentially “we’ll fix it when you get back” but he refused to put everyone on the plane at risk. God bless this pilot for making the tough call to protect his passengers, more than likely saving their lives. It’s up to us to look out for one another during the incompetency crisis.
